How to flash a custom rom

Hi,
I'm having problems installing a custom rom and need your help!
Here's what I did:
0) Installed the lastest SW (version 2.1.1.A.0.6 + baseband M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015)
1) Rooted and installed xRecovery without any problems at all
2) I place a custom room in the root of the sd card (tried several different ones)
3) Boot up in xRecovery
4) Select "factory reset" (with succes)
5) Select "Install custom zip" - "choose custom zip from sdcard" and then select my custom rom and answer "yes"
Then therese a shot flash of events, but it's too fast to read. At any rate nothing is installed. I'm able to restore my backup with any problems.
How come I can't install a rom?
Thanx all!

Thanks, but that one didn't work either.
Sry about the wrong section posting!
easy dude !
1. make sure it's .zip file.
2. open the .zip and have alook at it's containments
3. if there is only one folder with the name of the ROM, then u need to extract that .zip and put the extracted folder in SD\ xrecovery\ backup then use "restore" from xrecovery menu
else if u find two folders "meta" and "system", then it simply should have worked!
4. never mind the SPAMMERs

Google Play full access to Apps for ICS users (unlock Apps)

Hello,
For a while now I have not have acess to editors choice apps nor top apps. Here is the fix.
1. Place the zip file at this link into the Main storage of device.
2. Take a look into the ROM zip file you flashed earlier or you are using ( system/app) and delete phonesky.apk and marketupdater.apk or vending.apk
( please make sure you have a separate saved ROM zip file bfore editing. just a precaution).
3.place the phonesky.apk in the zip file above or at the link ( system/app to get, to phonesky.apk) into the ROM zip file you are using.
4.Boot into CWM and Reflash ROM zip file. reboot device.
5.Boot into CWM and flash the zip file in the link above.
6. You are done. you should see the image attached to the thread, that's the full gplay look.

I'm trying not to assume the worst, but maybe, for some reason, you didn't know that posting paid apps for free is not tolerated here and is considered warez or piracy. Please refer to the guidelines here:

and remove your zip.

How to sign zips with md5 to flash it with recovery

This is not for noobs or any jackasses who only read others.
As you all know, installing a custom ROM requires data like md5,recovery image and similar extensioned files. They are all packed in a zip package. But not just any zip package. After you generated the other files, zip it normally and flash it,it won't work. You know that the famous update.zips are always signed zips? We'll show you how to do this properly and easy.
First, you must have files like we said above. We don't care where do you get those files. Then, download "ES File Explorer" from Play Store.Hold and select those files after you got into the app.(You also need to know where those files are.For example Download or Android)Click the three dots icon under the screen and choose "Compress".Name the zip file and let it compress. After it is finished, choose"Add"and choose File.Name it update.zip.After that, download another app from Play Store called "Zip Signer".Open it,select the input file is the zip which isn't update.zip.Then select update.zip as output file, choose "Sign" or whatever.Wait until it's finished. Then boot into recovery mode.If you use TWRP,go to Install>choose update.zip and flash. If you don't have any custom recovery, first wipe cache partition>install zip from sdcard and go until you find update.zip.Install it and reboot your phone!Done!
