[Q] Cracked camera need help finding replacement part - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I somehow managed to shatter the rear camera lens cover glass thing (sorry I don't know the technical term which maybe part of the issue) and I saw on youtube its very easy to replace. The only problem is all the replacements I find ship from hong kong and I'd like to know if any one has a website that ships from the us thay sells galaxy parts thay may have the camera piece I'm looking for. Thanks for your help.

Why not just ship it from HK?

Because I'd rather not wait 2 to 3 weeks. I will if that's the only option but if I can find something quicker I'd like to use that one.

No one can help me?
Is it possible that nobody of you scratched the pda?
Have you seen this?

I've got this on my TP2:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/activecase/active-case-htc-touch-pro2_3552.htm
Works very nicely, lets you slide out the kbd, press buttons etc etc. Oh and it protects from scratches.

It really depends on what you like. I got the case with the kickstand in back to watch shows without holding my phone. Shop around. You will find something that catches your eye.

[Q] Can I replace a i9300 motherboard with a i747 motherboard??

Hello Everyone,
I bricked my galaxy sIII i9300 bought in Europe. Now I am looking for a motherboard replacement and found a i747 motherboard in ebay. My question is can I replace the i9300 motherboard with i747 motherboard? If they are not compatible, can you suggest me a way to replace my motherboard?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Madan Raj
Although to save you having the thread moved or reposting.... the answer is no. You do not want a US model motherboard

Thanks for the answer, but can you please tell me why is not a good idea? I would be glad to know the reason as well.
And about reposting: where should I repost this question?

...because you wont be able to use the phone!
Its a completely different phone with different CPU and graphics card and connects to completely different network frequencies to the rest of the world.

Just outta curiosity, regard hardware and frequency, if their screen are same, is it possible to switch motherboard?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
No idea. Don't even know if the screen is the same or has the same fittings. How many essential components that aren't part of the motherboard need to connect to the replacement and work? What voltage do those components need?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I think you can switch the screen setup of both models, but not sure. I read somewhere that its possible to switch screens. Let me lookit up and share it with you guys.
I was worried about the motherboard and now it seems I have no other choice than dumping my s3 or wait untill I get a i9300 motherboard
Anyways, thanks guys for sharing the information. Just let me know if have to keep something in mind before buying a motherboard. Any help or suggestions are appreciated!
Cheers!

Mind posting this on my original post? Thanks and hopefully I hear back from UAG about their design flaw soon!
Nice case protection...
However, not the best clear case imho. Too much going on with the backing -- between the Motorola logo dimple, UAG, and the Nexus logo. It's just very cluttered with overlapping branding.

thanks for the video.
hope they will make full black one.
transparent case looks awful for me.
also, really dislike that buttons don't have full cover by case; for galaxy s4 uag case was made in full black and with full coverage.
I have some serious issues when I use the flash with the UAG case. It looks like I am in a smokey bar. Photos without flash come out excellent. I use camera fv-5. Hopefully if and when they get the problem corrected they can help exchange/replace mine. I have had really good luck with UAG cases in the past. Thank you for the video review.

Replacement frame for color conversion

Has anyone been able to locate the metal frame? I know there's some replacement backs available on eBay but I'm also looking for the silver frame to fully convert my midnight blue model to the white model

Google "remove color from anodized aluminum".
Looks like greased lightning could work to take off the coloring.

I don't think it will be easy. If you looak at the frame on this photo https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/N4sjXwcb2YZIVVj6.huge you will see there a few plastic things attached to the frame.
These guys are apparently selling both frames, but I have found mixed reviews from this provider.
globaldirectparts.***com/OEM-Motorola-Google-Nexus-6-Rear-Housing-Blue-p/mrnx6hsg1blu.htm?CartID=1 (can't post links. Just remove the ***)
Does anyone know of any other provider?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251774488145?var=550699842251 these guys do for $40 and have both colors.
Anyone know how hard this would be to replace? I was thinking about buying one from that ebay link for $40. Has anyone done this before?
