[Q] No IMEI number whilist entering *#06# on Galaxy NOTE 1 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I wonder if someone can help me.
I have been trying to dig it online but cant seems to find correct information. I have been to few mobile repair shops around London but not really convinced what the problem really is.
I have been using Samsung Galaxy Note 1 for some time now, but couple of weeks ago my connections starts dropping and i would just take the SIM out and put it back and it would start working again.
What is is that when i enter *#06# it doesn't show any IMEI number. I have tried to restore my phone and install new software didn't help.
Some of the mobile shops said they need to buy a new IMEI number, some said they need to open it and see and some said "Basement" has gone bad. Not sure what that is though. May be he meant Baseband...
So here i am. Would appreciate if someone can direct me into right direction because i don't want any rookie to tear my phone apart.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Can't analyze your phone from far away. But is it possible that your phone went crazy after an OTG-update of the system?
Well, I think the easiest way for you is to flash a new firmware and I'd like to recommend an "alternative" software. My Note runs on "Team Union" (which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2194307 ). This might fix your problem.
You'll find the IMEI number on the sticker under the battery. Have a look at http://www.galaxynoteforum.net/. and join. There is a thread regarding IMEI numbers, which might help. Good luck

[Q] Read IMEI from efs file or TitaniumBackup

Hi Guys,
I have searched the forums but couldn't find the answer.
Unfortunately, my phone got stolen last weekend. Fortunately, i backed up the efs file and did a full TitaniumBackup. But since my phone have been stolen I would like to report that to the Police, but in order to so I need the phone's IMEI number.
I can see that the efs contains a folder called 'imei' and folder contains 3 files, but i cannot read my imei number anyway. Maybe i am doing something wrong? Do i need a specific program or do you guys know an easier way of finding the imei number from backup files?
Also, I do have a screenshot of the phone's BB version, kernel & build number (not that I think it matters), so I do have a lot of information about the phone. But can seam to find the imei number anyway.
Also, would it be even remotely possible to track my phone somehow? It has been wiped and factory reset by the thief.
Thanks guys, this is an awesome place!
Btw, i am on a Mac, maybe that's why i can't read the IMEI number??
The IMEI is also on the sticker on the original box.. if you have it.
If you created a Samsung account when you first purchased the phone and enabled the "Remote controls" feature in Security settings, I think you could try tracking it. Below is a screen shot of what I'm talking about.
I haven't tried it yet. Will report back in a bit if it actually works.
All the best!

No chance of finding the IMEI from those details.
Simple solution, call your carrier. They'll have the IMEI. Ask them to block it so whomever has your phone can't use it, and if necessary you can give the po-lice the IMEI. Tho there's no way they're going to be able to find a stolen phone purely by having an IMEI. About 1 in 10,000 stolen phones are recovered by police. And unless you installed tracking software on the phone before it was stolen (or enabled remote tracking on a Samsung account, again before it was stolen), you can forget about going down that path (remote wiping it/tracking it).
The SGS2 isn't an iPhone.
Best you can do in this situation is have the IMEI blocked so the phone is useless to whomever has it. Unless it ends up in a country where the IMEI block isn't recognised (some less civilised countries don't recognise IMEI blocks from other more civilised countries) Tho this will soon be a thing of the past, in the next 12-18 mths the ITU will be putting in place global IMEI blocking, which means an IMEI blocked phone will be pretty much useless anywhere.
Hey guys! Thanks for all the info.
It turns out that the imei number was on the box
Actually, I had some tracking software on it before it got stolen, and I actually was able the find the phone number, name and adresse of the guy using my phone now, well girl actually. I have given all the info to the police and now I simply have to wait. I hope they can get it back, I think they should be able to with all that info
Thanks for your replies!

[Q] IMEI not accepting on new motherboard, other country phone

:crying:
Hi Guys,
Can anyone help me as I was just told that my Samsung Note II can not be repaired at all. Here is the whole story, it randomly concked off and showed nothing beyond the first screen " SAMSUNG Note II GT N7100". I was asked to do a hard reset and reboot, after using Odin and Kies nothing really worked. Post which I gave it for repairing to an experienced person, he tried everything possible concerning the software but later came back saying the mother board needs to be changed with bomb of an expense. I had not option but went ahead with his suggestion but later he got back to me saying " my IMEI Number can not be registered since its another country phone" i.e. UAE & I am in INDIA, so he suggested to try a known Note II pals IMEI number, after doing that it worked but the network did not accept and could not be used as a phone and therefore he gave up.
1) Is the 35K INR spent on it is gone in drain?
2) Can SAMSUNG help me with fix this?
3) What if i try with a friend who travels to UAE frequently to get it repaired from there with the new motherboard and imei registration?
I would really appreciate your honest, rational and a solution way forward to my above concern. Thanks friends!

HELP!! GS4 Factory Unlock Problem!!!

So back in febuary I went from ATT to T-Mobile. With a galaxy s4 ATT provided me an unlock pin popped in my tmobile sim and it was unlocked. Later I had to send in my phone because my camera was malfunctioning.. I asked the rep before sending in my device if I will lose my unlock.. They said no. They repaired the phone.. Replaced the camera and PBA (motherboard) because it was also power cycling. So when I got the phone back I popped in my T-Mobile Sim and it was asking me to enter in the unlock pin.. Luckily I had the same unlock pin from febuary I entered that in and nothing happened I tried it again nothing. so I called Samsung and they said I need to call att and request a new unlock.. Called att requested a new unlock and they provided me with the same unlock pin like the first time. and they said only one unlock pin can be assigned to one IMEI number. called Samsung back and said they can't do anything which is B.S... just paid for this phone.. anyways now my phone is acting up again.. Running slow.. Some of the apps show "unavailable" or not responding. I went to the service menu by doing the *#0011# to try doing an unlock another way but it won't work for me.. one thing I caught was the IMEI CERTI: NA.. Idk if tht has something to do with it? any one have any tips? Or that can help?
Is there any way to confirm that the IMEI is the same? It's possible they might have had to swap out the motherboard if it was easier. Check to see if all the #s match between the sticker behind the battery, in the Settings, and when you dial *#06# then see if that's what ATT has on record.

Thanks for your reply... I triple checked the IMEI #'s and they are exactly the same.. behind the battery.. settings and dialing all the same exact IMEI prior to sending in the UNIT for repair.. what strikes me the most is trying to do the unlock by going into the service mode and it says IMEI CERTI: NA

Hmm. I wondering if they didn't swap the motherboard and write your IMEI to it, but for some reason it didn't transfer the whole EFS (not just the folder, but the stuff in the modem too) contents which include the IMEI Certificate. If that didn't transfer over or have the right permissions then that could explain it... Haven't had to deal with an issue like that though, so can't really say.
You're probably better served maybe asking some questions @ forum.gsmhosting.com as they deal with issues like this more often than most people on XDA. Either way, you're in for a tough fix if that is what happened because not many people know much about this since it is a fairly rare issue.

I was wondering that too.. I mean could that be the problem that the IMEI CERTI says : NA? I actually sent my phone back again today.. i wrote a letter along with it explaining my whole situation actually attached a picture of that service mode so they know. I also posted onto gsmhosting.

Samsung galaxy mega 2, Kingroot, and my imei changing

I just recently rooted my phone sm-g750a so i could remove a lot of the programs i never use mainly. After doing this it worked fine at first but I remember doing a system update one night a week later and when i woke up my phone was banned from my network. The imei no longer matches the one printed under the battery. What is going on did i buy a stolen/lost blacklisted phone or was it the rooting that caused my imei to change?
Thanks for any help here,
One more thing
I think it's possible to change an IMEI from what all ive read on here so all I really need to do is change mine back to the one on the sticker under the battery. If anyone could help me get to engineer mode or even just walk me through how to change it i would be eternally grateful.
Thank you so much to all the helpful people out there, Usually i'm one of you too but right now I must ask for your help.
Thx

Need IMEI change for Galaxy S6 Edge T-Mobile

Hey everyone. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me or point me in the right direction.
My s6 edge has a bad imei. It's blocked. I used to repair phones and I've changed imei's before so I know it's possible. Unfortunately, I had unlock boxes to do the trick. I.e. octopus box. I don't have access to them anymore.
It's my phone. I paid for over half of the cost for it through tmobile and then lost my job. Now, 2 years later, I'm trying to give it to my mom but tmobile blocked the imei and blacklisted it. I've tried calling them and they are not helping at all.
I've been looking for any software i can find to change the imei and unlock it but to no avail. I was hoping someone could find it in their heart to help me in any way. Thank you.
