[Theme Chooser] CM10.1/AOKP/Rootbox - Dark Messaging - AT&T LG Optimus G

If you want to keep the stock look but have a dark messaging app, download, install, and apply through Theme Chooser: Dark MMS Theme
I found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774324
But it was created by djdarkknight96. I could not find the actual thread for it so click here, pick any thread, and hit the thanks button. All credit goes to him!
I can confirm it works on Rootbox and it looks great.

You can also just hit the "Dark RootBox" toggle under the RootBox settings...

Yup. For me I really like the stock gray-ish granite look. I don't get why some like the solid black backgrounds. Too plain for me.

I downloaded an MMS from a rootbox build for another device (was trying to get the enter key as a new line option) and it had an option to use the dark theme in the settings.
I'll be honest, I can't remember which build it was from... but I THINK it was an AT&T GS3 build.
I attached it anyways, This way you could use another theme. I haven't extensively tested it, but it seemed fine.
For some reason it is being renamed when I upload it, so rename it to Mms.apk and copy it to /system/app/ and make sure permissions are correct.
You may want to rename the original Mms.apk.bak just in case.

[Q] aTrackDog - Can't see menu options b/c of font color

I just installed aTrackDog and found that on the NC, when I click an app, all of the options in the menu box that pops up are white, which is the same color as the background. Even when I click them, they do not show, even temporarily, so I cannot see which options are what. Anyone else have this problem or know a fix? Thanks.
NC v1.1 w/ auto-nooter v3.0
ADW.Launcher v1.3.6
aTrackDog v3.17
This is a known problem with the stock ROM for many apps. The only workaround that I know of is to use modded ROMS. Froyo, Honeycomb, and CM7 roms all have black backgrounds so the menu options work unlike the white background of the stock roms.
Thanks for the tip! So far I had not seen that in all of the reading I have done. I had the same problem with Folder Organizer but was able to fix it.
No prob. There are sdcard runnable roms in the dev forum that will allow you to try out modded roms without messing with your stock rom. Those will let you try out either Froyo or Honeycomb to see if your apps work without committing to an overwrite of your stock stuff.
Could someone post what are the 4 options given?

I like this idea too. I downloaded the app to my phone to see. Here they are (or should be, no promises):
1. 'Install from Market'
2. 'Open this application'
3. 'Uninstall this application'
4. 'Don't track version anymore'

How do you use custom icons?

I've wondered this for a while, but how exactly do I theme my ROM (i'm currently on ICZen) To change the icons into something I like.
I'm really digging these icons http://guillendesign.deviantart.com/art/VARIATIONS-3-261509672
How would I be able to change my apps icons into these? Can it all be automated or is it manually one by one changing the icons?
If you use a launcher like adw or apex you can change the icons on your home screens, not in the drawer.
All you do is long press the icon of the app you want to change. You will be given the choice to change the name or icon. Click the picture of the icon and then go find your downloaded icon. Click and confirm. Bam you got your new icon.
Now I'm trying to download these ones in your link but can't seem to find a link to download them. Did you download these? I only have my phone, maybe I need to get on Computer to get them, idk.

Oh well, they would have looked good. You can use any picture that you have as a custom icon though. Also I know that adw theme apps in the market come with there own sets of icons. I download themes just to get the icons.

Seeing that you both are posting from your phones, I found that you can't download things from Deviant Art in your browser for some reason. I just hopped on my PC and download from there.
Roly is right though, you just find your icons, unzip them and put in a folder called Icons. Then Long-press your icon on your home page you want to change and a menu will pop up with Edit. Click it and it will give you an option to use from gallery, url (I think) or file explorer. If I am just changing one icon, I will use the gallery. Might have to clear cache on your gallery to get it to rescan and show your new icons. Once in your gallery, you just navigate to your one that you want and pick it.
If you want to change all your icons, you have to go into ADW/APEX settings and go to themes and then in there you can pick a set from your sd card.
I use Desktop Visualizr and Simple Test too. Very handy and easy to use.

you can try this:
1. change to vibration mode using status power widget, or just set it to vibrate mode.
2. go to settings>sounds (or just long press the sound icon in power widget), under "silent mode", set it to "off"
3. check "Vibrate and ring"
4. send yourself an sms to check for vibration and sound

[Flashable ZIP] True Android Emoji Keyboard

One big change that I noticed on the GE 4.3 was the addition of the emoji keyboard, so I extracted it and put it into my system/app (with the necessary permission (rw/r/r) changes of course!) and tried it out, here it is in case anyone else would like it. Android users are finally able to use Emoji on twitter/Instagram/facebook!
EDIT: Doesn't seem to like Touchwiz or 4.2.2, force closes continuously.
EDIT2: for a working flashable zip check eortizr's post below (post #8 ) be sure and thank him!
Doesn't like CM 10.1 either on ATTS4
Edit: just noticed the OR statement

Maybr it also requires some libs? If its working on google edition rom than id say its just missing some libs
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
It seems to work flawlessly in my sgs4, the libs you need is called "libemoji.so" or "libwnn.so" in system/lib.
You cand find it in some thread in the forums, i had it since the first version of jellybean.
The problem I found is that the keyboard doesn't display the emojis, I don't know why, because we have the emoji font already.
Good luck and see a preview

Maybe it requires some frameworks to detect the emoji font in system, but anyways, the new emoji keyboard works very well in my phone.
You can use it on whatsapp for example, but you can't see the emojis you tap in the keyboard.
Well emoji is working good with just the apk and lib...However, its still a hassle to use as you have to enable it under settings, and once enabled you have no access to regular keyboards...now im assuming the google keyboard from 4.3 leak has a shortcut to the emojis however im having dificulty getting it to work on the stock rom, it doesnt seem to want to load when enabled and also causes massive lag throughout the system when enabled...tomorrow ill get a logcat to see what im missing...and hopefully im not wasting my time
Edit: if I cam figure this out I will create a flashable zip for users

Maybe im missing something....the emoji part works as did my other emoji keyboard from 4.3...but what I want is a normal keybiard that has a shortcut to the emojis on the keyboard...that way I dont have to go into my setting every time I want to use an emoji.
Now in the zip I noticed it does have "iWnnIME_Kbd_White.apk" and " iWnnIME.apk" the second is the emoji keyboard...the first looks like its supposed to be a regular keyboard, however it never pops up in my settings as an input method...for you does this install a regular keyboard as well? Or do you also have to go into settings everytime to use the emojis...
Was able to figure out a work around by installing the Google keyboard from the market, deleting all other keyboards including Samsung's and swype, then under settings of both googles and the emoji keyboard check the option "switch to other input methods" this places a new key next to the space bar that when pressed switches to a different input method...you can long press it to select a diff one or just quick press it and it will switch to the next one...by deleting all other keyboards I only have one other keyboard so it by default it just switches between the Google keyboard and emoji now

It seems though that the recipients are unable to see them. They just get question marks. This has been for ios users and android users I text.
Is anyone able to confirm that others can see the emojis when sent?

I still can't see emojis in keyboard or interface, I only can see some symbols and squares. What could be my problem??
Can I check whether you're sure that you extracted this iWnnIME.apk from the system apps in Android 4.3?
Reason why I'm asking is that iWnn IME is actually a 3rd party IME that's available in Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.omronsoft.iwnnime.ml.sc04d&hl=en). I find it difficult to believe that Google would include it as a bundled IME in their factory images.
Can you verify this? Thank you.

[Q] Themer theme changes not saving

I downloaded a theme from Themer, and made some small changes to one of the themes, and it saved it. At one point I hit the Home button and Sense came back (which is fine with me as I am not fully committed to this app and need Sense once in a while). However, when I went to apply thetheme it puts up the originally downloaded version. What am I doing wrong? If I unlock the widget, configure it, and then go into Saved Widgets - there is nothing in Saved Themes and in the Widgets tab is only things I did very recently - nothing from the previous day.
