[Q] Can i create a new thread(INDEX OF ROMS AND KERNELS) on development section(gsm) - HTC EVO 3D

I want to create a new thread to list the roms and kernels available for the evo 3d gsm :good:
The reason why i decided to do this is that the old index is outdated (updated about 5 months ago)
I will try my best to make that thread updated.
Is that against the forum rules ?

It would be good, ONLY if you update it frequently and not ditch it after 5 mins lol

I'll try my best thank you for your reply.

I think this is a great idea, as long as it is updated frequently. It would be nice to have that list for CDMA ROMS as well

[req] aosp rom???

Hello Every Dev!
I know most people were really about Sense 3.0......
But I hate it! :-[
Is anyone working on releasing (or have already in wait) an AOSP ROM for the for the E3D???
THANKS!
*I'm not a Dev....although u can't tell by ego*

kushdeck tweeted that he had his 3D, so I assume he'll be planning to port EVO Deck over this way, eventually. I certainly hope so, because his was my AOSP ROM of choice on my 4G.
Can't be done I'm afraid, for you see we don't have full root or S-Off yet....Please post your questions on the general section next time buddy

Well unless this thread was already moved before I got to it, then he posted in the correct section. It is a question, and I am in the q and a section. If it was originally in a different section, then I apologize.
To answer the question though, I'm sure
that once we have S off then we will have our AOSP roms. That will be an exciting time.

Wrong section...should have [Q] tag and this should go to the Q&A section, hence why you won't get any replies
I already PM'd the miui cdma original post maker about this. Might be worth posting on the thread?

Questions or Problems Should Not Be Posted in the Development Forum

Moving to Q&A

alot of views but no reply, i sent a tweet to cyanogen see if he can get cm7 on it. I think that would be better. Als miui probably build off of cm7.

[Q] Will the HTC EVO V 4G get it's on forum?

Just curious if this phone will get it's own forum or will it stay under the 3D forum? I figured since it was on HBOOT 1.57 and the older phone has 1.5 or 1.4, there would be some difference in dev work. Just wondering is all. Thanks to everyone here that has answered my questions btw!

As far as I know, the cdma ROMs and such will work on the vm version. Having said that, it would be nice to have a separate forum to make answering questions easier. The mix of cdma and gsm in the Q&A forum makes answering questions difficult.

I agree with you coal686. I notice most of these roms are also for Sprint and it confuses people that have VM. It's overwhelming coming from a Motorola Triumph with a few good roms, to all these HTC roms! There's alot of them! Seems MMS is the biggest issue when installing it on the EVO V 4G. I think it's because of a VM way of handling MMS.
Thanks.
I would like to see the EVO V 4G get its own section as well. It's just a footnote in the EVO 3D forum right now and I'm having to do a lot of sifting to find stuff relevant to my device.
I would be interested in a forum as well
im thinking about getting this phone is it worth moving from a samsung galaxy s does it overheat much when heavy gaming the galaxy heats up a bit
I would say it should get it's own subforum. Much to hard to find posts relevant to this phone.

Agreed, I think as the Evo V community grows we will eventually see our own subforum.
It'd be really nice if they could make one, because I just got this phone, and the mix between relevant and irrelevant info is sorta fustrating.
The Sony Xperia Ion has its own section...what a lemon it's turned out to be.

To be honest, most people searching for help won't know the difference between GSM and CDMA, which will cause even more wrong section posts.
I don't think the EVO V needs a subforum since it's essentially a CDMA and can run it's ROMs, correct me if I'm wrong.
1+
And not necessarily, everything that works on the 3D doesn't always work on the V 4G... (see mainly, MMS/SMS and data)

If not its own forum, at least give it a sub forum thingy. Like how there's a CDMA and a GSM forum.

Me also; Ditto; Agree; +1
My Evo v 4G arrives today. The community is growing. It may be time for a sub-forum, specific to our device, which clearly has some ownership and interest behind it
a sub-forum ~
Please a sub-forum. Evo V is a strong device and will definitely stick around for a while. It deserves a sub-forum on XDA ~ slight changes between Evo V and Evo 3D make their roms not 100 percent compatible. a sub-forum will definitely increase clarity of information.
Anyone who hasn't already can check out the evo v forum at androidforums.com. Everything is geared towards the VM version.

WHY???
Any admin here who could help me??
and is there ANY source released for the new 3.0 kernel for the htc EVO 3D??
It's not related to your post count. Some threads related to that kernel were taken down, due to some users being banned.
I knew that!?
But AnthraX is not down or so (i guess)
But i will continue to build my own kernel... Is the evo 3D ics kernel source released already?

Why do you need that particular kernel, if you are going to compile one yourself? Go to the github and find source code.
That kernel is not open source, so probably would not help you in your quest.

new user with LTE help lol

hey guys i need little help lol! i'm new with my evo lte i was on evo 3d before ! well i now i don't know which Development forum is for my EVO LTE there is 2 :
HTC EVO 4G LTE Android Development
HTC EVO 4G LTE Original Android Development
how do i know the right one for my phone?
They're both for our phone. For the most part, original development will have kernels and roms that are based on aosp or are unique enough from stock that they are considered original. The regular development forum is mainly for modified stock roms. There is a lot of debate about which roms fall under which category, so your best bet is to just check both development forums if you're looking for something.
Sent from my EVO LTE
Also tools relating to root and such will also be in original development
