Do not disturb/Blocking Mode? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

I haven't been messing around with a HTC Device since 4.0.4 on the OneX and I wasn't sure if HTC ever added a Do Not Disturb/Blocking Mode to sense 4+ or this latest version of sense.
Does anybody who has a One (or can go play with one) know if there is such a mode?
Thanks!

Just bought mine yesterday. Prior Inspire 4G user. Now, the One has the ability to add numbers to a blocking list if that is what you mean.
If not, let me know and I'll keep looking.

I am sure what he means (and what I want to know too) is if it has a "Do not Disturb" option like the iPhone has. Where you can set it to ON and then tweak the settings. For example, I have my iPhone on Do Not Disturb and the settings are 11:30PM to 7 AM so no messages/calls/etc make no sound in that time frame. I played with the One a bit, but did not find such feature. I am sure a ROM does have it or there must be a way to get it. This being my first Android, I have not figured it out yet.

Oh, I know what you mean. Stock androids don't have that. But every ROM I flashed on my Inspire did. Of course it was rooted. I may root this one in a couple of weeks though.

I know aosp roms (Like CM10.1) have a feature called quiet hours. You might want to look into that.

Check out the app called seer in the play store. It's what I use. I used dnd on my lg Optimus G. I missed having it.

There's nothing built-in.
I'm using tasker for this. If I'm charging at night, I turn auto sync off to stop checking for notifications while still allowing calls.

it's built into htc sense 5.5

Pretty sure system apps are phone specific, the framework is tailored specifically for the Evo.....you can try it, and it if doesnt work just do a restore

how would we able to tell if it would work on the vibrant just by looking at a picture? it doesnt matter what the app looks like.......its the dialer from the evo, which is a system app unique to the model...thats all we need to know.....its obviously safe to say that the app is most likely not coded to function on devices other than the Evo
I suggest just downloading Dialer One from the Market. It has a similar layout to the Sense dialer, and you can customize it how you want. That's why we have 3rd party devs
you could also try "takephone" dialer....just to give you some options
it has cool skins, and a very cool scrollable favorites bar
The EVO runs HTC Sense so there are too many differences in the frameworks that the dialer in HTC Sense needs for it to work. This has been a question that people have asked since the first release of Sense.
there are some system apps that can work on other devices, but it just depends on how much the manufacture of the device changed the system app to use things that they added to the framework. But this is one that will not work on a non-Sense device.

Let HTC hear your thoughts on the 3D

After speaking with HTC on a few occasions, they wont be fixing issues unless they get reports from multiple users. So take a minute and give them a quick email or call to let them hear about your concerns.
This is an email that i have sent to HTC, just to get the ball rolling, some minor issues.
HTC EVO 3D
1- Flashlight (minor)
I do not see the flashlight application anymore in my app drawer. It has also been verified that on the original software version, this is not on the device. Why was it taken out?
(The flashlight is floating around here on XDA to get this resolved by ourselves)
2- HTC battery widget was available on the HTC EVO 4g ... why is it missing on the 3d?
3- Animation settings have been set to all in display settings BUT when i manually shut screen off with power button, it just goes black. No more of that cool retro TV off animation. That went away after the system updates on the phone.
4- Still looking for explanation on this HTC TIP

how would u add additional icons to that bottom tab like the tip states that u can?
NOW For the main reason why everyone should contact HTC
HTC’s CEO, Peter Chou has confirmed in a quote from the HTC facebook page that they will no longer be locking the bootloaders on their devices. The bootloader is still locked on the HTC EVO 3d, can u please provide an update on when that will no longer be locked? Myself and many others are using that as a determining factor if we are going to return the device.
HTC makes it easy and inviting to hear from their customers. That is what makes them one of the top sellers.

Am I the only one that hates the Sense recent apps UI?

I've seen plenty of discussion about the One X series multitasking performance and tweaks to address it, but not much about HTC's UI for recent apps. I really don't like the cover-flow-like UI - I really don't need the 3D or reflections effects, it limits what I can see to only 2-3 apps (and only 1 with a name), and it requires extra scrolling to get to an app 2 or 3 back.

Maybe I am terrible at searching, but is there a way to get the standard ICS recent apps view?
No way of getting the stock ics multitasking yet. Only way is to run an aosp Rom.

On the Charmeleon rom you can disable the sense recent apps. Which reverts it to vanilla style.
I'm going to be blunt. Yes. yes you are.
I too dislike the cards, but as regalpimpin said, the Char ROM is the only one I've seen that has the option for stock recent apps UI. Would love a flashable zip for this, or how-to on disabling the Sense version.

I knew I was asking for it with that title. Clearly that's not entirely true, but I am surprised it doesn't bother more people. Even the GB recent apps UI was more efficient for switching, unless of course what you wanted was more than 6 apps back.
I'll have to give Charmeleon ROM a try. Or maybe I will go back to using Wave Launcher for now since I've got the recent apps button mapped to menu anyway.

Sick of HTC Sense Reloading, Remedies?

My ROM has memory tweaks applied but I want to exclude HTC Sense from being killed. It dies even when there is a lot of ram available.
I expect it to reload after a Game or Video sure, not general applications.
I was thinking of searching back to the old tweak Aakiam(Sp?) had for the EVO 4G with keeping Sense alive. (EDIT : Found it. Currently trying ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1, still testing though.)
I'll look for that but I just want to know if it works with the current EVO? Before I go messing with the build.prop.
If you have an alternate tweak that does work, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Yes, success with the mentioned build.prop edit.

According to the supercharger thread ics ignores build.prop and instead its hard coded into services.jar from what I gather.
Can you download auto memory manager and check the OOM priority for your launcher?
The priority should be 1 for the default launcher. Priority seems to be 5 (killed more easily) for the non default.

filter unknown callers

My Pixel 1 running the latest stock ota Pie build (pq3a.190801.002) apparently still has no way to filter unknown callers by default. Seems like this should just be a basic feature built into phones at this point. And I assume newer Pixel models don't have it either, since the software is basically all the same. Since "DND" is just a glorified silent mode, that means every spam call interrupts music (which I normally have going 10-12 hours out of the day). Sheesh. I appreciate my Pixel phone because using it means I don't have to trust yet another phone company with primary communications device. Since I want to maintain a trusted boot environment, my only option seems to be... trusting a third party app to block unknown callers. Now I just have to find one that won't violate my privacy. FML:

I found exactly one app [1] that required purchase, and then found out that it is no longer developed and doesn't work anymore after purchasing it. Cool. I've looked at half a dozen others and they all have invasive "features" such as automatic lookups for everyone that calls me. This guarantees they are sending information about every call I receive back to themselves to process this. Cool.
At this point I'm starting to assume my best option is to give up and buy an old flip phone.

I totally forgot about Tasker. I think I've fixed this with a simple profile:

Ooh, thanks for the solution. I've put it on my wishlist to think about it before pulling the trigger to buy it. I get at least one spam call a day. And spam text like every week. I hate it. How's the app doing for you? Still no more spam calls?
