Flashing international custom ROMs? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Looking at the codenames, both the international One and the ATT/TMOUS One are M7_UL. I'm pretty sure that they should all be able to run identical ROMs. Anyone know anything about this? Is it like the DHD/Inspire 4G where US variants needed an extra zip to flash things to make the ROM compatible?

Already confirmed that this works fine.

Yes they work fine ,first install Rom then flash boot.img

So I can flash any rom from the International version and it will work perfectly? Has anyone done this?

No such thing as international One.
It's all the same. The only seperation is bandwidth that your carrier operates on.

Depends.... Supposedly if you update to the new firmware and hboot from the OTA update, roms built on the older firmware have issues. Key is to not do the firmware update yet. Not untill the devs start using that as their base..Or at least a base with compatible firmware. I think if you are on 1.19 you are ok. If software is 1.20 then you might have issues. If you are on 1.20 look for roms with the same firmware.

New AT&T ota update

When I asked an HTC rep they said it was the final approved version from AT&T. Was wondering if anyone else has the phone already and has gained root access with the original software version that came with the pre release devices.
Thanks in advance

For now
Unlocked the bootloader through HTCdev today, and then rooted it. Was really easy.
Though I imagine since AT&T has said that the bootloader will eventually not be allowed to be unlocked, that it'll probably be nice to get it done sooner than later once you get your device.
HTC will block it per ATT instructions. Better unlock asap lol

I used SuperSU from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
There is a link for a flashable ZIP file that worked perfectly with the HTC One.
Whatever CWM recovery came with that toolkit in the international forums is what I used.
I believe technically, the international and AT&T One devices are the same, so almost anything in the international forum should also work with the AT&T One.

thanks ! but i feel like there is no need to flash a rom over this, i understand people want to make it custom and add certain things to it but the main reason why i flashed always was to find a rom that makes the phone work.. my previous phones all have had major issues -.- (the captivate being te worse)

Why not root and unlock the bootloader? It's not like you can't put it back to stock. Then you'd be on the latest and greatest.

[ROM] Stock Rooted Odex/Deodex

Disclaimer: Flash this ROM at your own risk. I am not responsible for what you do on your device. I left this stock to provide a base for anybody that wants to use it. Mod this rom how you want. Just please remember to give credit where credit is due.
This is a pure stock rooted rom. It has items like busybox, init.d support and so forth. No apps were added or removed. Both Odexed and Deodexed versions below.

you could try installing the Xposed Framework installer, and then grab that mod (the longpress back button menu option) and enable it. I think it should work. correct me someone, if I'm wrong.
Personally, I just went ahead and flashed ROMs from the WWE HTC One forum here on XDA dev - [HTC One (M7)] since they have the mods I want, and they work fine with our AT&T model. LTE working as well. I do think there's probably a slight issue with mismatched FIRMWARE and base version, because my LTE reception is like 2-3 bars on ROMs like ARHD 5.1 or TrickDroid 4.0 (based on 129.xx.xxx.5) whereas it's full-bar on the stock AT&T ROM.
hope I helped.. hit me up with any questions. the Xposed framework stuff you can actually find a link to in the ARHD thread (careful, don't install ARHD 6 right now, there's some issues people are having. 5.1 is good). Paul Obrien from MoDaCo hosts all the Xposed stuff.
I'll be flashing this tomorrow after I unbox my one

Yeah I was running ARHD but decided to just come back and stay stock and rooted. Didn't really have any issues or anything. Just wanted to get back to stock. But now find myself missing the Menu button to get rid of the black bar on a lot of apps I use. Wish devs would update their stuff lol I mean ICS been out about a year already.

I've taken phones back that were rooted and unlocked and I have never had an issue. I've never had a rep check to see if SU is installed or boot into bootloader to check the status. As long as it cut on and off and wasnt damaged I was good to go.

Using TWRP 2.5 you can restore your device to 99.9% stock :highfive:

The file is in 7zip format.
Its not flashable.
Upzip it and copy the TWRP folder to your device.
Use the Restore menu from twrp to return to stock

[Q] AT&T One X+ Cant get passed Bootscreen,No OS. I messed up

Hiya, I've tried everything. Literally, everything i could find on this site and a few others around the web,Everytime i'd try to get my rom pushed onto my sdcard, (internal HD) I would get the no device found error. Everytime i try to get my sdcard mounted, theres no option for me to do so, I'm fairly new to all this and I was desperately hoping to get my 4.2.2 JB update, though i lost the AT&T Software Update option in settings,..Thats the reason why i went for a ROM on xda forums..Up til now it feels like ive had no luck in finding the only options i needed to get through my quest...
Oh if this helps, i was running 4.1.1 and sense 4+ on my HOX+.I have s-on? if anything else is needed regarding my software please ask!.
If anyone could help it would be more than appreciated. Thanks.

Ok great, ill run the Cingular one. yes it's an AT&T. Though will a "RELOCKED"bootloader suffice? I "fastboot oem lock"ed it but it said failed and when i reopened in hboot it now says relocked.

I'm having a very similar issue to you except the ruu is not working for me and I also had received the latest ruu zip from the HTC website but get verification errors when I install them. Mine one is a international version though.
If you manage to fix your issue can you please post how?
thank you.

[Q] Flashing International ROMs.

Is it safe to use anything from the international forum to flash on my AT&T M8? Are there any limitations as to what is safe and what is not, or is everything in there safe for use on my model. Coming from the GS3, flashing anything that was not device specific was a nono, so I just want to make sure it is ok. Thanks!

Yes and no. If it's a sense based Rom you should be okay. There is bootloop issues with some roms , this is due to recovery issues and other things. Just don't flash anything that has a radio. Always make a backup and keep a copy on your PC just to be safe.
I'm running insert coin from the international section with no issues.

Thanks for the reply! So if I understand correctly, ROMs = ok; radios = not ok. What about recoveries, and RUUs? I know we don't have RUUs yet, but just curious.

Roms , no harm to try them if you are comfortable with adb, fastboot etc etc. I don't think the RUU is available yet. If you are familiar with Samsung then your probably also familiar with Odin. A RUU comes in a exe package now that is executed from your PC and restores everything back to its original state, well most of the time lol. Just make sure your unlocked and have the latest recovery installed , with that said trial and error is pretty safe if you no how to get yourself out of a sticky situation, not to say you are.

Thanks again, I appreciate all the info. I'm comfortable with adb and all that comes with trial and error. I just wanted to make sure that it was ok to mix and match some of the stuff from the international version. The last thing I want is a brand new brick. Like I said, sammy got me a little nervous about mixing and matching. Back on the Inspire 4G I used to use alot of things from the Desire HD forum. I guess I was just looking for confirmation that the same thing was possible with the M8's.
Also never flash a OTA or any new leak till you see it posted on XDA . You never no with ATT, they can push a OTA, that locks us back down .
This is all common sense. However,my father always used to tell me "common sense ain't common" ;-p I'm not calling you dumb I'm just adding this for anyone that may stumble on this thread. If you have anymore questions ,drop me a PM.

Yeah. I went ahead and unlocked with no intention of updating until we (hopefully) receive s-off. On my S3 they pulled a fast one with the 4.3 ota, witch I never did, or will, accept.
Edit: I always like to say "Nowadays common sense is a effin super power".
