Make sure your account is provisioned for an LTE plan. I had to hash it out with customer service, but they managed to switch me from a legacy HSPA+ unlimited plan to LTE unlimited. Immediately after I got off the phone, I switched airplane mode on and off to reset the radio and it came up with LTE.

To stay OT, in the test menu before changing to the LTE plan my phone showed Network Type "HSDPA" and now shows Network Type "LTE". It also switched from a preferred network type of "WCDMA Preferred" to "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto"

noticed this changed too from WCDMA Preferred to gsm/wcdms/lte

Glad AT&T didn't lock out the LTE toggle in the test menu this time around. Mine defaulted to WCDMA, but can choose LTE auto as needed. Also the only APN is phone, whereas on my OneX I had wap, phone, and pta.

When I was having this issue with my Note 2 (custom roms) it was because of the kernel, not the APN.

How is the GSM/hsupa working overseas?

Hello guys,
From my previous experiments, these multi radio GSM phones just don't work as good as their GSM only variants. What is the situation for photon about this ?

Received a unit yesterday, I had ordered via eBay. Works perfectly on both 3G and HSDPA. No problems with either voice or data.
Since I haven't been able to activate the phone via Sprint:
1. It tries to connect to Sprint each time I boot it. I need to then make changes to network settings so that it can log on to the local GSM networks.
2. Each time I send a text message, it reminds me I might incur international roaming charges.
Rest is super.

AT&T APN trick for faster speeds

First off am currently on CM9 and flashed UCLC5-Modem here- http://www.mediafire.com/?7vwp5pdsqd1v9ep
Flash it.. Then reboot...BUT I DO BELIEVE IT DOSENT MATTER WHAT MODEM YOUR CURRENTLY USING..
REMEMBER IF YOUR LTE APN DOESN'T STICK, TO DELETE YOUR OLD APN FIRST, THEN MAKE THIS ATT LTE APN THEN, SAVE IT.ENABLE IT....then make other apn if needed be...for the ones having difficulty.
GO TO MOBILE NETWORK>ACCESS POINT NAMES>ATT LTE
MAKE SURE THE SETTINGS ARE EXACTLY LIKE THIS:
AT&T APN Settings
Enter exactly as shown
Name: ATT LTE
APN: pta
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: none
APN type:default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet
APN protocol :IPv4/IPv6 (this setting experimental and is optional)
(make sure NO spaces after commas)
BEARER: LTE (default is unspecified) play with this one..
CLICK MENU button and SAVE settings!!!!
STILL NEED STOCK APN-- in APN TYPE:MMS --this helps to insure you get mms better.

UCLC5 was the very first ICS leak for our Notes. If coming from stock, you can just use the following ROM link:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/22134-sgh-i717uclc5-ice-cream-sandwich/
Wonder what the speed differences are between UCLC5, UCLD3 and UCLE2. Be interesting to see someone with the time handy give it a go and compile the results into a multi-colored graph...
Confirmed!
Confirmed working on ATT stock non-rooted phone.
My DL speed at my current location was around 2-3mbps(sucks) now it just went to steady 12mbps and reaching as high as 20mbps after changing the APN settings.
Thanks!

I never have gotten lte before in my house until I flashed that modem.
My wife has a Samsung galaxy s2 from at&t as well...Her phone is not rooted....I tested her device next to mine. With that modem and settings i scored those values....Hers still gets 3-5 mpbs I tested these devices right next to each other. I believe its the combination of the modem and those settings, and or the cm9 rom?

T-Mobile HTC One Stock APN Settings

Hi, I have a Stock T-Mobile HTC One with no Root using the stock APN below
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
APN Type: default,supl,admin,hipri
And my speeds on HSPS+ are super slow no more then 3.0MB
But when I'm using this APN settings bellow
APN: epc.t-mobile.com
APN Type: default,supl,admin,mms,hipri
I get 10.0MB UP to 20.MB but wont send any MMS. Has anyone run into similar issues on the HTC One? Is there a fix for MMS.
Thanks

I hope I am not intruding here, but this thread is the closest to what I am looking for (stock) and I figured that any one of you could probably answer this question.
I do not have direct access to the phone and need to pass this on to my son, so please dont skip any steps, assuming knowledge. I have never even held an HTC phone yet. My son absolutely loves it though and has me intrigued. ?
Anyway, he has an "HTC One" that he purchased here in the USA, at a T-Mobile store.
I know that with my Samsung, there is not only the Samsung line name (Note 2), but there is also a specific Model # that Sprint puts into the phone (in my case, SPH-L900). And then, even from there, it divides up further into US & International versions, each with its own model #, even within the same carrier.
I am thinking that maybe it is the same for the HTC One line?
My son looked in the Info" screen, but all it says is "HTC One" and nothing else.
Please, where should he go to find this information?
Or is this not relevant in the HTC world?
He wants to stay with the Factory ROM, but Root it. I know applying the wrong tools can quickly brick a phone.
Can someone help me with this please? Once I have the right tool, then I can take it from there. Thanks!

The only other two things I can think of that might work are go into the APN settings and click 'reset to default' reboot and see if it works. And try registering on another carrier in the network operators menu - you should get an error that your SIM isn't supported and then manual re-register on T-Mo.

With the New update from Verizon I545VRUEMJ7 which upgrades the android version to 4.3 also activates the LTE band 4 on the SCH-I545.
After the phone is updated all you have to do is put in the activated T-Mobile Sim card and the Add the correct LTE APN settings... as follows quoted from t-mobile
APN & data settings
To set the Access Point Name (APN) and turn on data settings, follow these steps:
APN Settings
From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap the Connections tab.
Under Network connections, tap More networks.
Tap Mobile networks.
Tap Access Point Names.
To reset your APN, tap the Menu key and then tap Reset to default.
If available, tap the T-Mobile US LTE APN (the bullet point fills with green).
To verify your APN, tap T-Mobile US LTE with the bullet point filled with green.
Verify and update the following settings for the Data APN:
Name: T-Mobile US LTE
APN: found on t-mobile site
Proxy: <Not set>
You can also set: 216.155.165.050
Port: <Not set>
You can also set: 8080
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: found on t-mobile site
MMS proxy: <Not set>
You can also set: 216.155.165.050

You can also set: 8080

MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Not set>
APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APN's>
Bearer: Unspecified
Tap the Menu key.
Tap Save.
Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile.
If that is the case, I would rather want to know if unlocked T-Mobile's LTE phone will work on Verizon network with an activated SIM. At least in the area where Verizon has band 4 LTE available like NYC. I hope it does so we can use the T-Mobile phones and forget about Verizon's bootloader crap.

Not sure if this is any clue on the SMS outgoing issue. I used catlog to test outgoing sms when on 4G LTE and when on H+/E.
4G LTE (doesn't work):

Not sure if this is any clue on the SMS outgoing issue. I used catlog to test outgoing sms when on 4G LTE and when on H+/E.
4G LTE (doesn't work):

H+/E (works):

i tried that but it still fails to send. you were able to get it to work on t-mobile 4g lte?
the sms send fails instantly right when i press the send button. it doesn't seem like it try to think before it fails
It will send if you disable LTE. It seems that LTE on T-Mobile handles data only, while calls and SMS are on the GSM network. You'll need to have hidden menu's enabled or use the phone info app to disable LTE, depending on the ROM you're running. I've also noticed that When in LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL), LTE switches off when you place a call. I'm not very familiar with how a normal T-Mobile LTE phone behaves when calls are placed, so I'm sure if this should be expected.
I believe that I'm able to get AWS 3G in the Albany/Schenectady NY area, as well as LTE. I just wish that T worked in the rural areas like where I live to the north of Schenectady. I'm on an AOKP rom so it's a ***** to even get the operator name to show right, and no band information.

T mobile USA - Connecting Problem

I have tmobile when inserted the simcard in my z2 I've noticed that I'm not getting any internet connection so i went to Setting/wireless and networks/internet setting and downloaded all the files then I went to mobile netword and changed it to 4G Tmobile, starting that day I keep losing connection every time I have to go to mobile network and change it manually although it's set on automatic, most of teh times 4g doesn't work and I have to set it to 3g... it's really annoying
In your dial pad type in *#*#info#*#* (numbers for info)
Go to phone info
Scroll down
Select prefered network mode
Select LTE or an option for local with
Go back to your network settings and see if 4G shows up
If not change your mode back to what it was before and call tmobile because they may have to sort some issues out for you
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
now whatever I'm doing I can't get data connection

go to your network settings, when tmobile USA shows up with 4G click it to register, once thats done, go back a menu and click on network mode and change it to LTE/HSPDA/GSM (or what ever bands are used in USA)
you should have data connection but 4G depends on how good Tmobile USA Coverage is
You may need to call TMo and ask them to do whatever they do in the backend to reset the phone to network connection. Another thing is to look at TMo support site for the correct APN settings. In my case, data was perfect but MMS would not work because the phone settings were incorrect. Basically, call TMo. They will even email you the settings.
One last thing. Try airplane mode off then on and see it that helps.

One thing I would do, is to call T-Mobile and register the IMEI so they can provision the unit. The settings on their end may have something which is preventing it to connect to it based on a previous phone's capabilities.
-----------------
I had something similar similar but it was with AT&T. In my case, it would not connect to LTE at all as it would stick on HPSA. This was because I had a S3 (UK version), which was only capable of HSPA+, and I had registered the IMEI with them prior.
I had a lot of problems getting my Z2 to work on T-Mobile as well. I finally used the following settings to get everything to work.
Create 2 APNs, the first should have the Following Settings:
Name: T-Mobile
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
Proxy: 216.155.165.050
Port: 8080
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/
MMS proxy: 216.155.165.50
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type: defaul,supl,admin,dun,mms
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN Roaming Protocol: IPv4
Now create a second APN with the following settings:
Name: T-Mobile GPRS
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Protocol: IPv4
APN Roaming Protocol: IPv4
With both of those created, go to your list of APNs and make sure your first one (T-Mobile) is selected.
These settings fixed my problems, hope you get it worked out.

I had a similar issue, is that why my phone doesn't have signal with tmobile cause I have to register the IMEI?

It is likely, make sure the internet/mms settings are downloaded too.
Once the IMEI is registered, they will able to see what phone it is and enable the proper features which the phone is capable of.
I heard it's best to let them know as the IMEI as well because they could flag the unauthorized phones and reject it from being connected the carrier.
