[Q] Script to spy on Whatsapp - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've recently came up with an idea to spy on whatsapp easily. This is purely for fun purpose. I don't have idea whether it will work. Many people want to spy their friends/gf/crush whatsapp, but they're unable.
My question is:
Is it possible to develop such a script on a rooted android phone that will run in the background and send the Whatsapp messages backup file (*.CRYPT) over email? Android on Whatsapp takes the messages backup daily, so if this .CRYPT is sent anonymously the spyer will be able to see the last day's messages.
Let me clear that this is just for FUN! No personal interest.
Thanks.

To be honest, its spying, tapping an account without notice. Its illegal even for fun purpose. If it could be done you already know that it will also be done with the wrong reason.
I can't find the fun factor in tapping others accounts....

Oh! well, its okay! No offense. Lock the thread.

No it was not intended to offend anybody at all, but lets turn it around ....you won't like it yourself if someone is "looking" with you at your personal chats....how unharmful it may seem

[Q] re-arrange items/apps in "share via" list

hi
here's a little pet peeve of mine
whenever i go to share a picture, website link, etc i am presented with a *huge* list of apps that i could ever possibly use
but here's the truth - i only ever use three (maybe four) of those apps
and, just an extra bonus, those three or four are distributed all up and down that list - and yeah, the gmail icon is at the bottom! lol
is there *any* way to modify that list??
or an app that lets us mod that list??
i'm asking you guys cuz you would know
and... if anybody wants an idea for an app to build... there ya go! i'd pay 99cents (heck, probably even 1.99) for such an app!
and, while i'm asking, i might as well say what would be just killer features ---- allow us to pick the say top five apps that would always show up, and the last entry says "all" so the entire list becomes available
would be good to be able to sort the apps that show up in that list too
anyway.. just gonna throw that out there
??
no one has anything to say about this?
Shame that there are no replies, as this is also bugging me. Here's a bump for the topic.
Annoying me as well. Recently downloaded a QR app and the damn thing added TWO entries. I'd love to be able to remove everything but email, facebook, and messaging...
How can this still be an issue
I can't believe there's no way to filter the list or at least sort the list in order used.
'Intents' and MIME-types
Recently I find that I've become rater annoyed with the list for "share via", and started wondering how I might go about deleting specific items or at the very least rearrange the order in which they appear.
I've been unable to find the answer, as most threads, only consist of the question, and no answers.
I did however find out that what causes an app to appear in the "share via"-list is an 'Intents'-argument with regards to MIME-types (.jpg or .txt etc.) when coding the app.
See: (add the http yourselves, as I'm unable to, with this being my first post)
stackoverflow .com/questions/7891473/how-to-write-an-android-share-plugin
&
stackoverflow .com/questions/3553017/android-share-via-dialog
That means, that in order to remove them from the list, we would need some app, like LBE Privacy Guard, that could limit the "offending" app's 'Intents' in certain regards.
However I've been unable to find anyone that seems to know which file to tweak in order to rearrange the order in which they appear.
I doubt this helps anyone very much, but it may just lead someone on the right path to maybe coming up with a fix for this.
Try 'Andmade Share' from the market, seems like it would be what you're after.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hbmRtYWRlc29mdC5zaGFyZSJd
or
share customizer
Play link
Feature request added at code.google 2012-01-25
It would appear that a feature request has been put in at code.google at 2012-01-25
(Again add the http-part yourselves)
code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24741
While we are waiting for this "obvious" feature, the above reply's seem to offer what I'm asking for, at least in an app, though it ought to be built in...
Thx a lot itscro & biopsin
EDIT: I think I'll pass on the Share Customizer, with all the funky (chinese?) writing, and dec. 2011 latest update.
Andmade Share however looks like a winner, and I like the fact, that it doesn't require any permissions...
Awesome. Andmade Share seems to do the trick. Love it when old threads are brought back to life and solve a problem.

Indeed, though it doesn't seem to work on Jelly Bean unfortunately.

Maybe not right now, but give it time, JB isn't exactly widespread just yet.

[Q] call forward from and to specific number

Dear All
I'm sure everybody had this already that he got calls from unwanted numbers, and they don't stop.
I usually use blacklist pro (bought version) with android 4.1.1 it doesn't work currently, probably it has something to do with pdroid, i'm using a cyanogen rom.
Anyway..
So far i'm more intrested in call forwarding instead of blocking.
I am locking for an app which can forward this annoying caller to another number, or all numbers which are not in my contact list.
so far i couldn't find an app doing exactly this what I wanted to.
(It does not matter if the forward counts on my own phone bill, because i've got flat anyway...)
so does someone know an app for this?
would this anyway technicaly be possible?

well all those so called 'Call blocking or forwarding' apps available on stores are not compatible enough to wrk efficiently with JB based roms, due to lack of upgradation of those apps from there developer's
so ICS based roms r better for ur issue, since they can support those apps

I try staying nice and calm but it's hard not getting mad..
So listen, I don't post stupid questions in a form because i'm lazy or i can't use google. In reality i've been searching such an app which exactly supports my needs for few hours, i've also tested few apps, but sadly my search was unsuccessfull.
Considering that the world is full of noobs posting sometimes unhappy, not well explained or just unintelligent posts I can partially understand your replies.. PARTIALLY!
But this is a Question and Answers forum and you do NOT have to write me "use google there are lot of apps and search the one for your needs"
If you CAN'T give a competent answer do not reply!
If you do not understand what exactly has been requested, read the topic until you do and then reply only if your answer is competent!
Now please do no more post reply on this thread you're not hitting the topic anymore and you can't help further!!
If somebody knows an App which exactly fullfills my needs, feel free to post it..
@ OP
Have you found such an app? I am also in search.

Same here @ OP
Would really appreciate a response.
The OP's outrage at being told to use Google is just as hilarious as it was almost two years ago.
I just want to be able to forward calls from specific contacts (not send to voicemail). I currently have all undesired callers automatically hung up on.
Hi frnd,
I found out a method which works perfectly for me....Hope this will be useful for u as well.
first add the particular number from which u don't want to receive calls to a call blocking list app.( i used cm security app)
second, go to your call settings, and enable 'call forward when busy' to your any other number or to which number u want the calls to forward
That's It...now if the blocked number called u, it will get hang up and automatically redirected to another number..

Tasker empty - No profiles visible after update to new version

Hi,
I've recently updated my Tasker, and realized, that everything I previously had in the old version now seem to be unvisible. The tasks and events I had before the update are still active, but if I open Tasker, they just dont appear, so I can't edit or delete them. Tasker says additionally in the notifications bar, that no profiles would exist. Phone-reboot was not helpful, the problem still exists. Is there anything known I can do to solve this?

Well, I think I'll better leave my thread separated, since the one aforementioned is 101 pages long now, and thus it suffers a bad overviewability. I think the admins would welcome my decision.

101 pages means there is a lot of chat going on. You have only had me reply to your question so far, so you tell me what is better lol! Regardless of risking it being overlooked, that is a more appropriate thread. This thread is not a support thread for Tasker. Just because you're using said apps on the DNA does not mean you will be assisted with every app you download. I still stand by my decision. You might also want to contact the creator of Tasker @ this email [email protected]

Is it possible to do this in Whatsapp ?

Hello, first of all I wanna mention that I'm a beginner with Android and stuff, I know how to root and use Xposed Framework and a few other things, but I'm definitely no expert. And that's why, after I've been doing some research but failed to find what I needed, I decided to ask the experts here. So here goes : I need to find a way to block someone in Whatsapp without them appearing as blocked on my device. Practically to cut off all incoming (and outcoming, if possible) messages or calls from that person, but without them appearing as blocked in Whatsapp, in Contact - Settings - More - Block/Unblock. Plain and simple, I need to cut off any comunication between my Whatsapp account and his, just like in the normal blocking, only that I don't want this to show on my Whatsapp in any way, I need to make it look like he's not blocked but just not answering, like in the case of normal blocking. It doesn't matter if there's a third party app that does this, or some Whatsapp tweaks, or whatever method, as long as it can do it. The device is a Huawei Y 635, running Android 4.4.4. KitKat, rooted. I am grateful to hear any idea about how something like this can be done. If it can be done. So, thank you in advance for your time, and I am waiting your answers.
Anyone? Please, I really need this. If I posted in the wrong section, my apologies and hope I can have the thread moved in the right place. Thank you, and still waiting for answers in the matter described above.

What are these strange numbers.

Galaxy s21 and my security seems to be an issue. What is this phone number doing here and why would it be toggled on to receive my messages. Thanks again everyone I hope I'm just being paranoid.

How do you expect anyone here to know what that number is? Why is it toggled to receive your messages? We don't know, you are the one that uses the device.
You are asking questions that we don't have any clue how to answer.

It looks like you have received a text from that number.
Your SMS app allows you to mute notifications from that number.

Oh I don't know, maybe someone has seen this type of attack before. Maybe someone does know how a phone number can even get attached in the manner it did. One thing I'm confident in is if anyone has any positive thoughts on the matter it would be a great help. Certainly though I can see this has upset you in a way that was not my intent. My thought was perhaps others who own an s21 are seeing the same thing or perhaps they are not. Lastly, your right, it is my device. A device that I didn't put the number on there and I have no idea how to remove that switch or input or whatever it's called. However, I do apologize for triggering your anger and will try to keep that in mind for future post. Thanks again and be safe.

Ya it's just odd given the issues I've had in the past. Why that number of all the numbers and contacts that I have this number that I've never seen before and is nowhere else on my phone is somehow attached itself to my phone. It won't let me remove it and it appears that if toggled on that number would receive notifications of my messages.

Who's upset? I'm just saying that we have no way of knowing what the number is or where it came from. Yes, someone may be able to explain "how" the number got put there, but, ultimately it got there through someone using the device(whether you or someone else) and that someone somehow allowed it or granted something access somewhere(whether they were aware of it or not) because android doesn't just allow anything to randomly apply itself to an android device without being granted access or given permissions. It is from some app that you installed, an email that you opened, a message you answered, some kind of multimedia content that you opened or something like that. Android doesn't allow things that were not expressly allowed by the user, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Hence my reply about you being the one that uses the device. Review your usage and trace your steps back to whatever may have been the thing that you allowed or clicked on unknowingly.

They probably have the option to block the number also.

Well I believe it migrated over after rest and I restored my messages. The solution was to clear the cache and data of my messages app. The input is no longer there visibly at least. I will continue to battle those who wish to usurp my authority and permissions that encoded in my device. Thanks again.
that number is samsung's account verification number according to true caller id as to how it got there no idea..
