Changing sms notification - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I require some assistance in changing the sms notification in the status bar.
I am unable to get to a personal computer at the moment and I was wondering if somebody would like to give me a hand with it?
Below is my mms app, and the icon I would like it changed to, (I would do it but I do not have a working computer at the moment.) :crying:
Any help is appreciated.

Sorry if that picture is too small. It's the only decent one I have.
If you can find any good ones the same sort of design feel free to post.

Nobody?
No one at all..

Names on SMS sent items

I don't know whether anyone else would find this handy, but I really wish I could have names on my sent items (not just received), comes in handy when you're trying to figure out what the hell you sent to who the night before
There is a FREE utility @ www.pdagold.com that shows the name in the SMS list - but not on the SMS detail. It's good enough.

BrainSwan again - it's here, forgot I had a direct link!

Cheers! I got that a while ago, cos not knowing who sent you what is *REALLY* annoying, I was really wondering if you could get a similar fix for your sent items (as smsname doesn't attach names to these)...

Help me find an app

I'm certain I had seen an app either here or on the Nexus S forum ... went through 16 pages, but couldn't find it
The app I'm looking for is sort of like a notification app. When I receive a call on my phone and my phone is not within sight, a notification is send to all wifi enabled devices on the same network. For example, my phone rings and I get a pop up on my pc or maybe my smartphone notifying me!
Can someone help .... please?
Thank you
Sorry can't help you, but I will watch this thread as that app sounds very interesting
Found it http://code.google.com/p/android-notifier/ in a reply to your question in the Nexus thread

[Q] Possible for Swipe to Clear Notification Count as READ Message?

Hey guys!
As you can see my first post here although I frequently come to xda to fix any problems I have or to browse roms, I love this website! This is the first time that I couldnt find a thread relating to what I am looking for (I hope I havnt missed it). I was also told to post my question here, originally I had it in Q/A but was told ppl may be able to give me an answer here.
At the moment I am using CM 7.1 on my Desire HD.
I was wondering if it is possible that when I swipe to clear a notification (in particular messages, I used GO SMS for text messages and Whatsapp) that it counts as a 'read' message. At the moment it just removes it from the notification bar although the message is still unread.
I hope I made clear what I am trying to get across.
Any help would be grateful. Is what I am looking for even possible?
Thanks!!
Is it possible to develop somthing like this in an app/kernal/Rom?
Sorry..dont mean to spam but could someone just say if this is a feasible idea?

Looking for someone to mid stock email app

I am looking for someone that can mod the stock email app in order to use the new card UI that Google is now using. Similar to what tapatalk is using now, as well as many others.
What I am looking for is for each email line to be a card, then when opening the email the header would be a card and the body would be a card.
Anyone think they can do this? For an idea take a look at evomail in the market. It has started to move in this direction but is terrible at handling email, and doesn't do exchange.
PM me if you would like to work together on this. I can easily pass ideas or test the apk, but know nothing about programming so wouldn't be helpful with that part. If this can be done by just theming let me know, as I can do a little of that and would love to help there too.
I personally think this is how the email app should look in the future...and seeing as how Google is beta testing a new email app, maybe it will be. But until then I would like to get started.
Thanks in advance.

How to block a certain notification from a given app

Hey guys, before posting this I did a huge research all over Google and could not find an answer.
I migrated from apple and so far I love android. However I lost a simple feature and haven't been able to get it back.
With my iPhone when I received an email I wouldn't get a visual notification ('cause I had previously blocked it) and still get the sound and/or vibration. And that was easily done on the notification center.
Can I get something like that? Block the visual notification and still hey the sound? ??
Thank you in advance.

On Lollipop you can block notifications of apps by holding onto the notification entry for a few moments & hitting the "i" symbol.
