Neo V Fastboot problem - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hello!
I have an issue with my Neo V. I want to change kernel, but the phone won`t go into fastboot mode (phone off, press and hold menu, plug USB). Strange thing is, that it worked before (I`ve done this procedure several times). What actually happens after plugging the phone into the computer is not continous bue led light, but one short blip of blue and then orange (charging). I tried X-parts, doesn`t work either. I can ge to CWM without any issues, but fastboot? Nope kid, not this time.
My gear:
Phone: Xperia Neo V, CM10, kernel Fusion 2.6.32.60
PC: Lenovo Z500 Win8 64bit
PS. Yes, I changed kernel on this PC before, no problems at all. I read in other thread that you can`t enter fastboot mode if your phone is carrier locked- well, frankly, I don`t know if my device is locked or not, but, if it is, than why was I able to enter fastboot before? Thank God it`s actually really difficult to brick android, otherwise I`d have my phone broken a long ago I guess
Oh, and BTW- My first post, so hello forums!

U must be having flashtool. If u don't,, GET IT!
in flashtool . U will see a big Lightning icon on the top left. click it.
a window will appear saying'mode selector'.
in ur case . select fastboot mode and click 'ok'
Try 2 options-
1.'Reboot into fastboot mode (via ADB)'
2.'Reboot into fastboot mde (via fastboot)'
then click 'Select Kernel to flash'
select the kernel file(the filename will end with a '.IMG' extension)
then continue...
please hit 'thanks' if i helped!

Made it work by myself. Appareantly, the usb cable was the problem, however, I am not so sure, if I didn`t try the process with this one (working) before. Anyway, a huge relief.
Thanks for the tip with flashtool, I knew abut this program (and used it a couple of times), but in my situation it wouldn`t change anythng (same story as my idea with rebooting to fastboot mode via X-parts).

You don't need whole flashtool. You just need adb and fastboot, eventualy drivers if running win.
Then just do in fastboot mode
$ fastboot flash boot boot.img
Or whatever the file name is.
Yes, I have sometimes that problem too. So, I am planning to get a new usb cable.

post your problems there
try to keep the forum clean

Now I know this problem too ;/ I flash kernel 100000 time before. I have Lupus v6 and MIUIv5 by ZduneX25 and any idea what is problem. I try on other computer, other system, other cable so ? tell me it is not my socket ? and sorry for my poor english

I too am facing the same problem!
I'm currently using CyanogenMod 10 with the same Kernel which was pre-installed on the Neo V when I bought it.
I wish to change the Kernel to Lupus as it is compatible with most of the ROMs. I tried flashing the kernel with Flashtools and Kernel Flasher but to no avail.
Kindly help!

Well let me clear the air out of that topic. Yes I have unlocked the bootloader. I've even installed CyanogenMod.
When ever I use any kernel installing software like Flashtool or Kernel Installer, the computer fails to detect my phone under Fastboot mode!
When I use Flashtool to slip into Fastboot mode using ADB, the phone simply reboots, where as when I use Kernal Installer where I manually need to put the phone is Fastboot mode, the blue light turns ON as it is supposed to be.
To avoid further doubts, tell me tell you that I have updated my ADB drivers and also Flashtool drivers!

No, nothing of that sort.
I connect it, my PC detects my phone (I'm an engineer, I know that it is detected, so no queries there please).
The problem is only I try to Fastboot mode.
Phone restarts when trying to put into Fastboot mode using Flashtool, and "waiting for device" is the message displayed when trying it with Kernel Installer.

[Q] Brick LWW (wt19) HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi, first of all, sorry about my english. I think it's terrible.
I have a SE WT19 stuck on FXP bootloop.
I had installed a custom kernel, but i guess i did something wrong.
At first, my cellphone is on bootloop (in some custom ROMs) or just on black screen.
So, i tried to flash a new kernel with flashtool, or a stock Rom with PCCompanion, but my device is not recognized by Windows 7.
Also is not recognized by Linux, or Mac.
The kernel that bricked my LWW was wt19i-live-rage2.7-kernel-for-fxp-cm7.
There is something possible to bring it alive again?
Ever uninstall and install all drivers and tried in another pc, aways shows the same message.
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer is not working properly, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message." :crying: :crying:

My phone was rooted and unlooked bootloader. I tried ALL CM7/9/10 roms posted in the xda development forum. I have the latest flashtool installed, also the latest drivers. When I connect my phone in fastboot or in flash mode, nothing happens,, cause my pc (and flashtool) do not recognize the device.
Okay but what happens when u connect ur phone to pc while pressing vol up button(without running flashtool)?does the blue led show & pc doesn't recognize it?if yes then go to device manager on my computer & see whats the problem with ur device, try installing it from there.Another question, can u get into CWM?

When I press Up, turns on the blue led.
When I press Down, turns on the green led.
Device Manager displays: Unknow Device, and say I'm using the latest drivers, and something about Code 43 wrong.
I can get into CWM.
Nice then ur phone is perfectly okay :good:
just try another pc
or
unistall all related to ur device(flashtool, drivers, android sdk,pc companion, google usb) & reinstall. If that even don't work I suggest u to do a fresh install of windows.
See if it's a problem with the USB port. Are other devices connected to that port recognized? Some of the USB ports in the old PC at my home keep showing that message whatever I connect to it

The phone doesn't seem to be bricked. Try using Flashtool on another computer. Make sure you do have those fastboot drivers(when you first connect your phone to Flashtool in fastboot mode, Flashtool gives you a notification that drivers need to be installed for the device. I confirm that the ones provided in C:\Flashtool\drivers work for LWW )
(Always make sure the kernel is compatible with the ROM you're trying to flash)
Start with the stock kernel(the one provided inside the CM7/CM9 zip - boot.img). Then flash the relevant ROM and see what happens. Once that works fine, start tinkering with various kernels out there.
Don't worry, it's just a soft brick
I haven't bricked my WT19 yet but I did soft brick my former X8 and Someone else's Galaxy something...
What I can advise you do is flash the whole stock .ftf ROM from Sony, just search for the 4.1.B.0.587 firmware, flash it and start from scratch.
About your pc not recognizing your phone: how then did you flash the kernel?? Do have the Sony PC Companion installed on your machine? I have it just for the driveers, I know Flashtool comes with them but I rather have the offiicial somethimes... I think MediaGo also comes with them.
Anyhow, I hope you can get your phone working. Let us know how it went

Micro USB port works fine too.
Hi guys,
All tests done.
Other pc, or OS, do not recognize my device.
Tried another notebook, tried another windows version, another Linux and MacOS, nothing works!!
So, this process of kernel change could cause some hardware damage?
I really can't change the kernel in cwm recovery?
Just to recall, I can change the battery, got the phone in fasboot/flash mode, got CWM working, install new ROM but, or finish with bootloop or with black screen.

You can get into fastboot without flashtool if drivers are correctly installed.
Stupid question: Have you already unlocked your bootloader? If you haven't done any modding before (e.g. flashing custom ROM) you might haven't done it so. That can explain why your phone goes charging when you plug USB cable instead of fastboot mode. Try also some Linux live distributions. Some of them have adb and fastboot included.
I have done flashing and modding.
But right now I am not able to put the phone in fastboot mode
I am expecting some helpful comments instead of asking me to search for answers.
Because I have already searched for those, came here finally.
Please provide helpful comments to put the phone in fastboot.
I am not able to find the answer
How did you unlock your bootloader?? I mean by which method did you do it?

First, you didn't provide importrant information. Which ROM you currently have, which one you are trying to flash, have you tried to update firmware via OTA, because there are some situations where you can accidentaly relock your bootloader. I assume you didn't brick your phone earlier with FOTA, like in my case.
Next, when you try to connect into fastboot mode, try it without FlashTool and open device manager and watch if it responds when you try to connect phone with usb while holding menu key. Fastboot is a command line application which can work without FlashTool (which is a GUI frontend to fastboot).
Second, you didn't read my post thoroughly. I suggested you to try a Linux live distribution, e.g. ubuntu. Just boot it from CD or USB and when it is ready you can connect phone in fastboot mode, just hold a menu key and plug the usb cable and see if blue light goes on. It will probably not solve your problem on Windows, but will give us some answers.
I too am facing the same problem!

Sony PC Companion installed.

In order to flash the kernels u need not have to enable usb debugging
So here what u should do
Switch off phone
Keep it aside
Select kernel.ftf to flash in flashtool
Flashtool will ask u to connect phone in flashmode
Just press the volume down button (phone should b pff) of ur phone pressed and attach to usb
Try to restart Flashtool with your device already plugged in with USB Debugging on.
Sometimes happen with me. I just restart Flashtool and it detects it.
Thank you both, but if I connect the phone while holding volume down button can recognize the device?

good evening, i need some helps about the flastool using usb debug....
last night i intended to flash my a690 using another firmware that is s319. my reason was about to upgrade it to ics.
then i follow the instructions for flashing a690 using flashtool. it was succeed, i turn on the phone.... so the problem appeared, my phone can't login, even bootloop just in blank screen.
then i decided to back it firmware to stock rooom using flastool again.....and this information of error appeared.
i tried almost 3 hours by using another firmware but it wasn't succeed. i thought the error appeared because of the usb debug didn't click it.
so if there is anyone knew about this issued, please help me what should i do??
the first mistake that i had made so far was using another firmware fo my lenovo.

Hi all, if anyone is having trouble flashing with flash tool because usb debugging isn't enabled error then do this procedure.......
1. Dowload latest flash tool 0.9.18.8 and also version 0.6.6
2. Try use the latest version first to Flash the tft rom. NOTE: remember the file it has error flashing e.g on my experia sp file system.sin was not able to Flash bcoz usb debugging error (enable usb debugging and unknown sources) ALL THE REST of the files flashed ok!
3.try flash again the rom but this time tick system.sin (or error file) in flashtool to exclude it from flashing. Make sure all other files are included. Also tick all wipe caches options and flash rom without system.sin (or error file).
4. Flash procedure will work. Now disconnect phone and leave it off without restarting it.
5. Uninstall flashtool latest version 0.9.18.8 and install flashtool 0.6.6 old version and open it to Flash the same rom BUT THIS TIME only select the system.sin file (or error file) to be flashed and rest excluded. Make sure all wipe options in flashtool are enabled and Flash! THE FLASH WILL WORK WITHOUT USB DEBUGGING ERROR and your phone will be fixed!
Press thanks if it helped!

[REALLY NEED HELP] Flashtool doesn't allow my Xperia U to flash ROMs/kernels

Hi...
I wanted to flash a kernel, so I entered into fastboot mode with the "up" volume holded, and then, the blue LED appeared, but then, it just dissappeared! So Flashtool didn't flash anything.
Again, and again, one time and other, and again.
I get bored and decided to flash the ROM I had in CWM, so I flashed it from CWM and now, I cannot turn on my phone cause it makes bootlogo.
Flashtool still does the same thing with my device when I'm trying to flash any Stock Rom or Kernel.
Please, I need the phone for daily usage and for tomorrow.
What can I do? I can enter to CWM but I don't know more things to do to solve this problem...
Help, please.
Try flash the kernel via cmd.

The problem is that I connect the phone to the PC through a USB, okay, while I connect with the USB, the blue LED turns on for a few seconds, but then it turns off, so I can't flash any kernel even if I'm using flashtool or cmd.
Please... help.
When I select "Mount usb storage" in CWM, my PC doesn't recognize anything!
I could restore a backup that I have but,...
Try removing the battery on your phone and pressing power a few times, then open stock rom in Flashtool and when it says to press the back button, insert battery-hold volume down-insert cable as fast as possible...
Thanks, really...
But nothing changes...
I've installed ADB, SDK and PC Companion but my PC still doesn't recognize the phone, so I can't add my backup to CWM through "mount USB Storage"...
Help please!
Exactly, install stock ROM through an .ftf and flashtool... afterwards you can copy your backup on the phone and install a kernel with recovery

But if PC doesn't recognize my phone, flashtool also doesn't do it!, so I can't flash anything, the green LED turns on but in a few seconds it turns off and doesn't flash anything, just turns on the phone that makes bootlogo :/
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
I really apreciate
Is your boot loader locked or unlcoked?
Have you ever flashed with flashtool before?
Did you install the drivers with the installer in flashtool drivers directory(the one for your phone + falsh and fastboot mode drivers)?
Finally yesterday after three hours I could flash a stock ROM, don't know how changed but I could do it.
FINE
Thanks all!
