[Q] What can we or can't we flash on our HTC Ones? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

What stuff is compatible for our At&t htc one's from the regular htc one forum, and what stuff is incompatible.
Should I treat the bootloader unlocked version of att htc one as the same as the international, or should I only install stuff from the att htc one forum?

Is it safe to flash the firmware updates and is it necessary to say flash the latest version of arhd? Or can i just flash the rom on the current version of my att one even though i am on 1.26.503.10 and they are now at 1.29...Sorry if this is a dumb question but have never done this before and don't want to break the device

I am running ARHD 7.0 with no issues at all, however I did flash the latest radio posted in the international forum, this was prior to learning that there is really no reason to at this point. Attempted to roll back to the backup of the original radio.img that I captured prior to upgrading (just for comparison purposes), however my build number still shows 1.29.401.12. My question is, is the build number derived from the ROM and the baseband version derived from the radio.img?

Correct.

got it, thanks. that explains why my baseband is not changing, its the same radio lol

Have any of you had any issues regarding flashing a rom? I have been reading some of the rom threads and it seems some have issues with Aroma or the rom's flash, however, then they cannot get their phones to boot. I want to flash one but I do not want to have any of those issues, as I already had a problem with recovery.

I sometimes have trouble with aroma with my HTC DNA, which is similar to the One. With me it sometimes freezes if I don't hold the device straight. Why... I have no idea. However, when this does happen I return to recovery via the pwr+vol and redo the process. It doesn't hurt anything for me just takes a bit longer. I've ordered the one and I'm definitely planning on flashing all types of stuff when out gets here Wednesday God willing. Just be sure to backup. That's saved me countless times.

Wait, when you select wipe data in order to flash arhd, doesn't it wipes firmware too?
I mean when you flash arhd that has latest firmware, your baseband still says 1.26 instead of 1.29?
How is that? Confused

So we can flash all the roms and kernels in there thread ?

[RADIO] New N1 Radio 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04

Hi guys,
The new Korean ROM contains a new baseband firmware. The version is 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04.
The version is identical to the one contained in the newest Desire 2.2 update. This might be the key to 720p on the Nexus One/Froyo.
This update.zip doesn't have the HBOOT as I have no idea how it impacts the rest of the phone and the flashing/downgrading capabilities of the phone.
THIS RADIO CAN BE FLASHED ON ANY NEXUS ONE!
Tested on a T-Mobile version (900/AWS/2100 MHz, European version).

It just works, camcorder and camera still works properly, no need to update the Camera APK.

Can this be bundled into a package with the SPL as well?
The radio we already have can do 720p. It came with frf50. This might be the Korean version is it

Try the attached ZIP.
I did NOT try this ZIP file. I found another spl updating zip for the HTC Dream and bundled the hboot.img from the Korean ROM. USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION! I don't know if it verifies the HBOOT before so be VERY, VERY CAREFUL. You could end up with a brick.

As stated in the OP, it IS indeed from the Korean ROM. This might just be optimized for 720p in Froyo... We never know.

I know this. I'm just stating that the Desire can do 720p on Froyo with this. This, with careful decompiling on libraries from the Desire ROM, can probably lead to (better, maybe) 720p recording.

I think all Nexus Ones are 900/1800 GSM. The only thing that changes is the 3G. If you mean 900 MHz 3G though, I guess it will work, since I'm using an European Nexus One. I cannot vouch for it though, so try with caution. I don't think there are differences in radios, but I can be wrong.
Flashed and working well..
Thanks for the help mate!

just flashing via recovery? got error..
So is this safe to flash yet? I'm on cm6 rc1 using a T-Mobile USA n1.
To those of you that have flashed it, any differance in data speed and reception?
Any chance of bricking my device if I flash only the radio without any SPL?
There is always a chance of bricking when flashing a radio.
I have several reports of it working perfectly even without flashing the new SPL. Some people flashed the SPL and it seems very hard to downgrade, and make you unable to downgrade the actual Android OS. I upgraded myself the radio through the zip I published in the OP, with no visible problems.
So I don't think there's any risk of failure because you don't flash the SPL too.
Disregard.

[Q] How do I get the official ICS update?

Hello all. I'm new here and definitely new to modifying my phone. A few months back I got impatient and installed a leaked version of ICS on my phone. Now I can't get the official release. When I check for an update, it says there isn't one available. All I want to do is get it to the official "stock" version. How do I do this? I've been reading about S-on and S-off and things like that and don't know what most of it means. When I installed the leak, I found a download link and instructions on a different website and was able to follow them. I would just like some guidance getting it to accept the official release or something that works well. It seems like the version I have has some bugs and doesn't work right all of the time. My current software version is 3.13.605.7 710RD. Thanks in advance.

in order to be able to recieve an official OTA, you would need to revert the phone completely back to stock.
(If you are "Unlocked" and S-on)
1st: Put a Stock rom
2nd: Relock the bootloader

Ur right. If you were on say 3.03 and flashed 3.14 while S-On, U can't flash a previous version or else U could brick ur device. However if U S-off , U could revert to any versions. But if ur still on stock, U can S-off and do the steps mentioned above, and the S-On again.

[Q] Unlocked bootloader before upgrading firmware

Hello,
First thing I did when I got my phone before even playing with it was unlock the bootloader in fear I would not be able to later on (was so tempting to have the file and not actually unlock it, so i did). Afterwards I realized i did not run the OTA first and i am on firmware 1.26. I am seeing some blurbs here and there with people stating that in order to update the firmware you need to relock your bootloader and than do the OTA, it is not something that would get done by installing a new rom. I am new to HTC, had the nexus before this and everything could not have been easier. Just want to see if I am understanding this correctly, and would it be wise of me to relock my bootloader and than do the ota and than re unlock.
thanks for your help!

I'm fairly certain that isn't true. You just need to wait for someone to post the stock update "rom".
What is the most current firmware?
I did a software update and found nothing earlier today. I'm on 1.26.502.10
I remember seeing in the at&t forums that people were getting an OTA right off the bat, and in the international they have 1.29.401.12.. but maybe I am just being paranoid? I am on same firmware as you.
I'm not worried about it too much. I'm sure to have a custom ROM on this thing sooner rather than later.

I stand corrected. But the way I see it - if you unlocked the BL, you can back it up, then relock it, flash it, and then restore everything.

Why not flash a custom rom now from the international forum? Or just flash stock international rom?
Something in android revolution thread stated that if u have a different firmware version than what they are using u need to wipe data through aroma.. which i understand.. just was curious about running the most up to date firmware and such.. but if that's just for international. Than no biggie. Plan on flashing this afternoon!

Need Help - Update Rooted MDK 4.2.2

Hey Guys, I'm really needing some assistance on this one. I'm an HTC guy, and usually I'm the one answering the questions instead of asking them. But I've been doing quite a bit of reading and I'm still kind of lost with this S4, and I hate to make a mistake that would cost rootlessness forever (made up a new word)
I'm pretty good with ADB and not scared of command lines, but I could really use some guidance. Could someone point me in the right direction of the thread I need to update from this 4.2.2 build to the latest, and not lose root.
This is for a good friend of mine, and I want to get it right the first time. Attached is a pic of the build numbers currently installed.

Your first picture isn't showing up, the second has nothing to do with the question. If your friend is on stock mdk and is rooted he/she needs to freeze/delete sdm.apk and flash a custom recovery. Then they can make a backup and never ota, just flash roms as you would on any phone with an unlocked bootloader. And as for never losing rootedness, that's not the issue. It's updating the bootloader that is.

Use goo.im and install TWRP. Or go to their website(twrp) and use terminal emulator to flash version 2.5.0.2 goo will give you the latest version. But by my own estimation twrp 2.5.0.2 is still the most stable recovery for this phone.

Alright good deal guys, thanks. He's on TWRP I might should have mentioned that sorry. So I'll flash that version you recommended and grab a Rom and set him up.
Thank you so much for your help.
Any recommendations on a stable stockish custom Rom ? Don't need wild tweaks or anything just a solid very stable daily driver with nice performance. I flash roms daily, he's a set it and forget it type although I'm the reason he hasn't updated sooner, just haven't had time to get into it and make sure I did it right.

Can You Flash T-Mobile Firmware On An AT&T Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 SM-T878U

I bought an unlocked SM-T878U for AT&T and since the tablet for T-Mobil has the same model number for either provider, can I Flash the firmware for the T-Mobile Tab S7 onto my tablet without any problems? Sorry if this has been asked I searched around for over an hour and didn't find the info I wanted.
Edit: this is the 5G version not the LTE but both are 5G
Thanks
Yes... you can flash firmware from the same model.
T-Mobile and AT&T should be using the same firmware (T878USQU1BUAC).
Your SIM card and device CSC determines what carrier specific apps and features to load.
Thanks for the info mine is using a different version then the one you listed I just don't want to brick a tablet I just paid 500 for...

ATK1 is an older version. Just make sure whatever version you flash is for the same model number. T878U.
It will install without issue... make sure to flash HOME_CSC to keep all of your data, apps, and settings.
Thank you for the info and I didn't know that home CSC would keep all my data... Thank you.

You're welcome.
The rule applies to all Samsung firmware.
Flash CSC_OMC to do a clean install.
Flash Home_CSC to keep your stuff.
That did not work I downloaded the firmware and flashed it and now it just goes to recovery mode and won't even boot up anymore figures this would happen, just the way this year has been going, you have a place I could download a good firmware to just completely nuke it and go back to stock? It was stock before I mean I just tried to put the T-Mobile Version on.
From this site, https://galaxyfirmware.com/model/SM-T878U and I used this build number T878USQU1BUAC
Edit: Edit it did end up finally booting up after doing the app repair function in the recovery and also a factory data reset but still says AT&T only thing that has changed is I now have android 11 lol
I just want to get all the att stuff out so I can use the t-mobile texting and whatnot I can't use that now because of the att junk.
It is like a VIRUS infesting it.
Again thank you for all the help.

Looks like you'll have to manually change you CSC.
This post has some advice on how to get this done.
SM-T978U Odin Firmware Flash
Purchased a sim unlocked SM-T978U (Verizon Tab S7+ 5G) and am trying to flash the unlocked or Tmobile stock firmware to it. I've gotten "passed" flashes everything when flashing all of the files from the corresponding stock firmwares, but...
forum.xda-developers.com
Also make sure you are using a patched version of Odin when flashing packages... I assumed you know that, but in case not, here is a link to download it... https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903995077
From all the digging I did. It is not possible as you have to unlock the bootloader to change the CSC. And well I spent over 3 days on this crap to no avail. I just sold my ATT model and bought the tmobile version. So ridiculous that Samsung does not just sell an unlocked version to avoid this hassle. Very annoying.
