I think there was some work done a while ago to port the Linux Silverlight alternative called Moonlight to Android. I don't think it got very far.
Moonlight is missing some things like DRM which Microsoft won't share (no surprise there) so things like Netflix won't work.

Would it be possible to port an silver light application to java and then to android?

That I couldn't tell you. I would imagine you could just write it in Java or C# and make it Android native though

[Q] Neo Geo emulator?

What is the best neo geo emulator for the x10? I remember there being one in market if you searched neo geo, but now its not showing up.
Any recommendations?
Thanks
They removed all emukators from market

but why??
no one plays games here? i find that hard to believe
What can you do with dualtouch only anyway?
It's already stupid to play games on a touchscreen due to the lack of actual buttons, let alone being more restricted to touch just two "buttons" at a time.

So you are gonna be carrying a wiimote when on the bus, on the train, etc? Defeats the whole purpose of portable gaming, how are you going to hold both things, phone and wiimote, at the same time? lol
Or you just want to play at home, instead of using the PC bigger screen, better filters, faster performance, etc.
Defies any logic.

Lol get out of here im just throwing out suggestions. Also a wii remote is not that big . Throw it in a bag your carrying. And as for performance all emulators run perfect besides the n64+ps emulator. Why do you need a super big pc screen . Its gonna stretch out the game image and it might not look as good

and my question remains unanswered.. what is the best neo geo emulator and can you please give link to developers page.
As for portable gaming and whats the use.. one cannot take his ds or psp with him everywhere all the time, so mobile gaming is best here to pass the time.. you cannot compare emulator on android to psp or something similar.. its just for entertainment and that is exactly what you need when waiting in some lobby or waiting in the car
I agree dude.
How am i supposed to pass the time.. count teeth?
Been searching for one as well.
BTW.. for proper controls you can always do what i did.

Minecraft

Has anyone tried playing Minecraft yet using the Debian or Sogarth's Mod? Is it impossible to play, or does it actually run smoothly?

It's actually not possible...
The ATRIX has an arm based processor not intel, unless they publish the source for it and can be compiled for the arm architecture its not gonna happen.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Actually, I take that back.. its a java based game, but still requires standard opengl graphics libraries.. android uses opengl es.. not sure what the diff is but its definitely not the same.
Having said all that, indie games is porting it to android / ios so well have a client eventually for our uber phones

well i have actualy tried getting it to run when i was running 1.83 with ubuntu webtop mod and i went as far as the downloading update and such but after that i got a black screen this was running the browser version as that was the only thing i could get to work.

I'm definitely gonna run Windows 95! If for nothing else but to impress people.

Does anyone know who the developer of the DOSBox port to android? I need to contact him to ask a question.
I installed aDOSBox on my android 2.3.4 rooted phone (LG Optimus q) and it installed fine. I then mounted the program folder I wanted but as soon as I run the program sDOSBox crashes. Funny thing is that on my Windows 7 laptop where I have DOSBox installed the identical program runs just fine. So, I need to find out how to trouble shoot the android port to make it work on my phone too. I think the crash is possibly a display resolution problem but do not know how to change that.
Any help appreciated.

[CONCEPT][REQ] Gamecube emulation via RDP to Xperia Play video

Concept: Gamecube emulation via RDP to Xperia Play
I know this may have already been conceived but I wanted to conceptually show the idea. If not then I would like to get some feedback on the idea. This video will show Dolphin latest emu running on a host PC and displayed via RDP. The RDP client supports the d-pad in dolphin but the other buttons do not work. If a developer could add Xperia PLAY hardware button support, Wii will be in business on the Xperia PLAY.
• Run Dolphin or JPCSP on a host pc that is capable.
• Connect to host PC via WIFI on a wireless N network.
I have tried this with various remote desktop apps on the market. I have found that the best and fastest so far is Remote Desktop ver 2.10.X (or whatever the last is). The results of this test I have found to be heavily reliant upon the RDP app. I am not an android dev, Just throwing the possibility out there. Quite honestly I just want to get some GC and PSP love on the Xperia PLAY. I am aware of the devices limitations, I am just thinking out the box. What do you think?
Specs:
Host PC
AMD Athlon II x64 3.10ghz
Nvidia 8800GT video
1 GB ram
Client
Xperia PLAY 800x (rooted)
Stock 2.3.2 AOSP rom
1ghz Stock clock speed.

reserved...just in case
Whats the point? If i was going to go to the trouble of that i'd rather play GC games on my 18" monitor. It would be ammusing for 5 mins while i showed my friends.
Still it's a nice idea and it would be fun to see it developed

I was wondering about the possiblity of using those emu's by allowing another box to do the heavy lifting. Maybe it's a dumb and pointless idea.

I felt the same way until I ran this particular RDP client that was fast enough to give the results on the video. So I wonder is it possible to get 30fps on the device with support for the buttons and...dare I say it analogs. I mean a stripped down purpose built RDP optimized for the XPlay.

I get all the lag without the fees. but I digress.
Hmm I have tried Onlive and despite my poor 4mb net connection I have not had any lag on it at all.
I use onlive and I love the service. I barely play my ps3 anymore because I have a ton of games on onlive cause there practically giving the games away and micro consoles too. I think everyone should check it out.

Maybe just a button remapper as a separate app could do the job and then you are free to use any RDP you like

Absolutely. I think that's exactly what I looking for. I checked out OnLive. That's amazing and look forward to playing on the PLAY once an app is released.
I was more or less looking to play the classics that I already have. I trolled around a saw something about hardware mapping the analogs.

Developing for android on android?

There's no app to simple app development (like appinventor) to do it on the phone or tablet? Maybe the easiest way is to run ubuntu and install SDK, eclipse...? What do you think?

App inventor is still going for now I think but next easiest way is a basic programming language basic4android which though easy to learn and use can produce very complex apps I created media streaming and contact widget apps and others have created bittorent search engines, video players, spreadsheet apps and games so is something worth looking into as it also has an ide you can use to develop on your android device though main ide is windows based.

Terminal IDE is what you want. You should know basic Linux terminal commands to use it, but it has good tutorials... It's a large app (~30MB) but it's an entire terminal emulator with the ability to develop Java on your Android. It also doesn't require root.

Oh that's good to know. Where can I download? So basically the development is done via command line?
