My wife says she can't rearrange the home screens. - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Now she's at work with her new phone and I'm at work with my old Note 2 so I'm of no help. From my Sensations days I asked her to pinch to zoom to bring up home screen preview and rearrange them there but she said that is no good. The little screen to add another home screen page she says she can drag the home screens around but can't rearrange them. Is there any special trick to rearranging the home screens on the HTC One?

I have the same problem. I've been told that it can't be done with Sense 5.

Yea its kinda limited right now. Better hope the JB/4.2.2 version of Sense 5 adds that ability.

You've officially made my wife mad... lol.

What I did is add a panel, pick which one I wanted as my home screen, picked it, then populated the screens as I wanted. Not difficult.

Which is downright stupid and confusing. Maybe I've been using Nexus devices for too long but I never had a learning curve on Android til I got this phone. (I love it but some things just seem like they were not very thought out.)

I can help. Just open the app drawer, long press on the app you want to remove. Drag it up and it will load back in the drawer leaving a blank space. Then drag the app you want to replace down to the blank space on the dock.

Let me try again once my wife is home, we were trying to do that but every time we drag a app out the same app appear on the drawer again so was not sure if there is any other way to get this done.
I will report back after trying it again

If that doesn't work for you, drag the other app down to the app you want to replace and it'll make a folder on your dock. Then just remove the app you want gone. Either way, it's more steps than it should be but you'll get the result you want!

So here it I tried dragging the app to the drawer but seems like you can not move a app to the drawer and make a folder.
Is there anything else that can be done ?

You might want to retry or do a master reset if none of what we've said is working. I'm including a screenshot of me dragging a random app (Facebook) to my dock to make a folder.

No. You dont drag it TO the drawer. You drag it FROM the drawer TO the taskbar. After, of course, dragging the icon you want to replace FROM the task bar TO the drawer.

It makes sense to me. What didnt make sense on my S2 was to first create a shortcut on a homescreen panel and then drag it to the bottom task bar. Thats two steps. With the One, its one step. From the drawer to the taskbar.

Thank You for these tips. I have been trying to figure this out. I will admit some of these things are strange coming from the Nexus 4 but I can deal with them for this awesome phone.

So when I drag it as per the screenshot. It does add the app to the drawer but then you can not remove either of the apps and this thing is pissing me how
Dont understand why something this simple can be made so difficult by HTC

I've got a few more screenshots that will hopefully help from here. Once you've created the folder, click on it to where it brings the two apps up. Then long press the app you wish to remove and drag it to the drawer.

HTC Sense app drawer

Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to add more categories to the sense 3.0 app drawer.
I'm not sure if categories is the right word, but basically, when you open up the app drawer, at the really bottom there's a slider and icons for switching from all apps to frequent and to download.
Thanks!
I have to say I'm curious too, I'm sure there is a way to, since you can rearrange the "categories" when you longpress on them, and there's more space too (it looks like to add more) so Im almost certain there's a way...just haven't found it yet

Yea, that's what I figured too. They leave the space for it, but I can't figure it out!
Also, when you longpress stuff, it tells you you can drag to remove categories, but all of the stock ones aren't removable

Yea its a simple mod
But is there a way, to create any additional categories there? Like games, utilities and so on? having all the apps together without even being to organize them the way I want is very messy for me.

Folders with ADW (free version)

Is this possible? I can't seem to figure it out. The long press menu doesn't work at all on the NT. I can't find another way to add them.
I only got folders to work on go launcher because it can create them in the apps window, allowing you to create shortcuts to them on the launcher screens.

Hold App A on top of App B for a little while longer and a transparent box should appear. That is your folder.

Are you sure that works on the free version? I know it works on ADW EX. I used the free version until a few months ago, and I don't believe it has had updates in forever.
I am using adw ex version not sure if it works in free.

I have the exact same problem with the free version. Dropping apps on top of each other does not work and trying to create one by long pressing an open space on the home screen just makes that window disappear. I figured it was something with my root and re-rooted the NT, but it unfortunately didn't change anything.
Not much help from me other than saying you are not alone fr3dw0rth.
I downloaded the newest version of ADW ex from mobilism and I am able to create folders. I think it runs a lot better than go launcher

[Q] All apps in multitasking window issue

I've been having a strange issue with the multitasking window. I hit the "edit" button to add apps that I want to multitask, but when I drag an app into the drawer it magically switches to a different app. It doesn't seem to have any kind of pattern either. It will just switch to any random app. Anyone else had this problem yet?
This appears to be a common issue with many of the multi-window mods.
I recommend the multi-window module for the Xposed framework as it corrects this problem.
It can be found here:

You need to clear data for com.sec.android.app.FlashBarService.
Then it will be fine.

Back button to close app drawer?

Does anyone know if this is possible? I keep finding myself pressing back, but then it would just leave me back in the app drawer instead of closing the app drawer and bringing me home. I want to close the app drawer with the back button and not need to press the drawer button.
Bump!
It could be dependent on the launcher you are using. I am using Nova Launcher. When I am in the app drawer and I press back, it brings me back to home.

Only thing I don't understand is that it takes this same effort to close it by pushing the home button as it does the back button. Am I missing something?

It's rubbish because it doesn't conform to standards and as such is a sore thumb for the user experience. The purpose of conforming to standards is to create consistent operations throughout the product instead of having someone press the back button because it works everywhere else and not work here.

I agree to an extent, only because I find that compared to navigation on the One X, the app drawer makes things clumsy and you have one extra thing to think about. I don't like it, it's not intuitive, but this is a beautiful frackin phone so I won't complain too much.

I've noticed that too. I'm also I'm disappointed they didn't add more sources or add the ability for us to add our own. :/
More sources would of been a welcome refresh. Now i have to see my dock in the feed as well that cuts down the viewing area of the already small tiles.
Oh well, the other changes outweigh this small one.
I do like back button sending you to the top instead of having to hit the status bar. I wasnt that accurate and normally opened the top story on the first try
