[Q] Latency and wifi bandwidth issues? - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I have been using Speedtest.net to measure network performance and rarely I sometimes end up with 4G (HSPA+) with a high latency of 600ms ping instead of the typical 60-120ms. What is strange is that if I then switch over to Wifi, the latency is 50-70 ms instead of the typical 10-15 ms and the bandwidth is only 12-15 Mbps instead of 25-30 Mbps download. The problem goes away if I then reboot the phone, where HSPA+ is back to 60-100ms ping and Wifi is again 15 ms with 25-30 Mbps download speed. Any idea what the issue is - do I have a defective radio? The problem has occurred twice so far since I got my phone on Monday.

I have noticed the same ...could be issues with the way the app is testing...I have yet to notice any latency loading pages.

Higher Data Speeds

Whenever I do the speed test with my phone, the highest score I've been able to get is 1.27 mbps, but on average its about .80. I live near chicago so I figured I'd get better speeds and I noticed many people are getting up to 5 mbps.
Is there a radio update I need or is this the phone, or is it the area? I test it when i'm outside with clear skies and it stills only shows that much.
I usually get great speeds. My maximum has been near 7 mbit/sec down., and my average is 3 mbit/s.
When I hold my phone tightly, the signal goes down, but I never lose a call or any bandwidth. Try putting the phone on a table.
When I had my G1 I was having crappy speeds (maximum 1.5 mbit/s down, average 0.8 mbit/s) compared to what T-Mobile is capable of. Your problems could be location. Maybe, just maybe, it's the device, but I highly doubt that.
have u try to installed Lagfix? just my 2 cents.
Yes I did. Its been great for the overall function on the phone, but hasn't really affected the date speed.

Evo 3d wifi question

I am curious to know what the maximum mbps this phone can handle. I am getting fiber optics in about a week 20mbps and am curious if I will be able to take full advantage of that with this phone and if so how much further speed wise can this phone go.

It is compatible with 802.11n networks if thats what your router is putting out

So that would be about 65 MBps

Actually, the theoretical maximum should be 75 MB/s, as the maximum data rate of the 802.11n spec is 600 Mbit/s (divide by 8 for MB).
Of course, you'll never get sustained rates at the theoretical maximum of any data connection really, especially not a wireless type.
btw dont put your hand on the top, that's where the wifi antenna is and mine sufferes a great signal decrease if i do that.

Anyone else having WIFI problems?

On my laptop I get 30 ms ping times and 20 mbps speed. My View sitting right next to the laptop gets 300 ms ping times and 6 mbps download.
In other words, it sucks.
Any ideas?
Huh.
Tried forgetting my wifi connection and reconnecting. This seemed to help quite a bit. Ping time dropped way down to 52 and speed increased to 11 mbps.

Wifi settings

So I recently upgraded from an older router, to a newer dual band 2.4, 5 N600 router and the connection speeds for my tablet are very low. I have a 30/30 connection speed and the prime is the only device that has download speeds at times of 200 kbps, up to about 12 mbps. I have adjusted the MTU, and I am wondering if anyone out there knows of a setting on the router that might be affecting the speed of the tablet. Also when I adjusted the MTU from 1500 to 1400 it greatly affected the Prime's speeds, I did get a couple of 1 kbps down load speed test before the adjustment.
Thanks.

LTE in NYC question?

Hi guys,
I have a questions regarding LTE in manhattan. I am only getting 2 bars or 1 bars when my phone is connected to LTE. Is that normal?
Also when the phone switches from LTE to 4G. The speed is really slow like 1mb download. I never had that problem before the LTE was turned on.
The low LTE "bars" is expected as its a different algorithm and LTE runs at a lower minimum signal level. 1 bar is sufficient to get 20 mbps down and 10 mbps up.
