Kindle Fire HD 7" Tablet APP UI - 7" Kindle Fire HD Themes and Apps

So, I noticed there are literally 0 threads on how to enforce the Tablet UI on apps inside of our device. I realize that this may be common sense to some people but I figured there would be SOMETHING. However to my knowledge it is not included in any rom available (other than the new PA rom by -a-, Props to him for making the attempt) that includes a tablet UI of any kind. So here is the very simple method.
Tweaks:
1. Download ROM toolbox LITE
2. Open ROM toolbox LITE
3. Slide over to PERFORMANCE
4. TAP BUILD.PROP Editor
5. Find ro.sf.lcd_density (IN CM10.1 this is set to 213 by default)
6. Change this to 160 to avoid any conflicting issues with the market.
7. Reboot as instructed by ROM toolbox LITe
8. Everything except Status bar will now run in Tablet mode. (im workin on it lol)
9. PROfIT.

Hashcode mentioned this but there were issues with 160 on his cm10.1 that involved the play store.
Nice find though.

Im using his 10.1 and there are no play store issues with tablet mode enabled. Probably just an unupdated OP. This works perfectly, and I will stand by that, I have not had any issues so far with anything I have done and much prefer it.
Im just tired so im sorry if anything I say comes off rude. This works perfectly fine on CM10.1 for our device, it may not have for a previous version of his rom, it does for his current.

Not rude at all. We are all here just helping one another.

It doesn't get rude 'til I'm here.

Thank you, this is awesome!!!

Using the tabletUI rom of hashcodes CM10.1 is so much easier though.

Thank you got this and sorry for bumping am old thread but. .. When I did this it messed up the lock screen. It's a totally different slide lock that won't unlock unless I do so as soon as it boots.
Also, how did you get the nexus style buttons at the bottom of your screen?

It does work! Thank you. But the UI fonts are too small once switched to tablet mode. Any idea on how to adapt that?

Full emoji support

****You can use this keyboard wherever you input words****
This does require root!!! I take no responsibility for this or what happens to your device. I STRONGLY recommend a nandroid before testing any of this. You assume the risks for trying this. Also I am not 100% sure if this works for other android devices, but I do believe it does, if you want to try it and let us know then go for it.
I don't take credit for any of this. I just found it and wished to share with the community.
So far everyone I have texted has recieved my emoji. IPhone people get them seeing as its built in. Android people you text have to have it enabled on their device in order to see it (the receiver). Unless your on CM10.1.
Now onto what I did to get it working.
(On CyanogenMod 10.2 or AOSP this app does change anything)
First I got the app from this link. Followed the instructions for the apk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29281110&postcount=1
(NOTE: THE EMOJI WILL ONLY SHOW UP IN BLACK AND WHITE ON YOUR DEVICE - the sender. The reciever will see it however they have it configured on the receivers end)
Once the app is installed I went into the app and hit the apply button. The app requires root privileges. Also the phone reboots itself after its done.
Once fully rebooted. I rebooted into my recovery(I am using clockworkmod touch) and flashed in the recovery the zip file from the following link:http://d-h.st/dHv
Which can found from this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056558
I did wipe cache partition and dalvik cache just in case. And after flashed zip, I rebooted and had the following.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
To pull up the emoji keyboard what you need to do is swipe down from the notification bar at the top and change your input method. Once changed you can select your emoji and then go back to stock keyboard and continue typing away.
Hopefully it works for others. I will try to help where I can but I am no expert nor do any kind of development. Best of luck to all interested.
Attached here is the most recent keyboard of iWnn IME which I myself pulled from my Nexus 7(2013). Has a different look behind it. Attached is an image of it also so you can get an understanding of what it looks like.

************EDIT ************
I have gone on to test this on my old rezound. And it also works. So I can confirm this works on android version 4.0.3, 4.1.1, 4.2.2, and 4.3.

I noticed if you try to delete emojis from the IME using SwiftKey it causes text in the input box to disappear and doesn't actually remove them. Going back to the emoji keyboard and deleting them there takes care of this. This isn't a problem with the stock keyboard.
Also, emoji enabler messes up the Japanese dictionary.
So....I would really like to build on this.
Some ideas I have are try to figure out how I can change over to color emoji as opposed to just black and white.
Additionally I would like to maybe remap a button on the HTC sense keyboard that would automatically bring up the emoji keyboard. Whether it be a long press or something different. Kind of like the button to change between languages.
My problem is that I don't much on editing files or any kind of development. Any direction would be helpful.

Has anyone tried this on a Sense 5 based ROM?
Sent from my Droid DNA using Tapatalk 2
Is it totally changing the system fonts? Bcoz i am playing lords and knights and i am not able to see emoji characters. I am able to write but can not see any of them.
No need to flash anything. Just root your phone, download the link which author gave you about font enabling, then use it. Reboot your phone, works fine with htc one x, venomx 3.6.1
Or just use kii keyboard. Full ios6 emoji support
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
True but this was an option for those that would want to stick to sense ROMs and HTC stock input method for there typing purposes.
Plus with this method you do have iOS 6 emoji support.
The rest if my family is on the iPhone and they all receive my emoji and I see them no problem just black and white as indicated in the OP

As usual, I am not responsible for any damage or problems you may have. I recommend a full nand backup before flashing any mods.
Due to the nature of custom roms there is no way for me to know what has and hasn't been customized. This and all of my other mods should only be flashed after doing a backup in case things don't work the way it's expected.
These mods have been tested on several roms before posted but that is no guarantee that they will work on every rom out there.

Installing this on hyperdrive rls6 enabled all my apps by default and crashes when I attempt to disable apps. Any advice?
Kind of irritating having 156 apps in the bar.
Hmmmm installed this on Hyperdrive 7 and all the apps now show up in the drawer of apps to choose from despite having only certain ones enabled with multi window manager. That is not that big of a deal but when I go to add one to the side bar (for example Waze), the app then turns to something else (like camera).

Would be great if this mod would play nicely with MultiWindow Manager so that all apps aren't enabled by default.....that causes issues when trying to add apps to the bar.
Ive had no issues adding or subtracting apps with this mod. Not using the mutiwindow manager btw. But found this post interesting for you to try.

[Q] Cant See any Themes

Hello everyone, past week i have downloaded themer app and my phone runs pac 4.3, i had to reset the deault layouts and dpi as per the description in playstore, still i cant see any themes, any help is required
Kinda sorta in the same boat. I did modify the nav bar but since it's looks for specific resolutions even stock I doubt it would should since it not going to report an expected resolution.
Thought I'd try app settings to trick Themer but that doesn't have a supported resolution either. Looks like a glaring oversight.

The server must be down, I am having problems loading themes aswell
Its because of the screen resolutions.
Funny thing they dont even work on 1280x800
I have a xperia z with the stock rom
the resolution according to themer is 1824*1080
When will this resolution get supported?
I have the same issue on my Xperia ZL - Resolution is the same as on the Xperia Z. It's Rooted Stock 4.2.2
Not working on Sony Xperia T (modded nav bar size)
can't find any themes.
Same issue here with my Nexus 4 with the stock 48 dp navbar, It was working last week too, but later that day it started doing this.
EDIT: Mega derp, apparently I accidentally set navbar to 44 dp. Now the themes show
No issues here, if I mod the nav bar size then I get no theme but if I changed to stock then reboot then all is good

most of custom roms have a little modified resolution, may be it is the reason we are having this issue, other launchers like buzz launcher works fine even on custom ROM, may be they try to add support for that soon, coz i dont want to move back to the stock os fto just beta test an app

Fix for Chromecast Mirror (Cast Screen)

I take no credit for this, a member named Murdoch1 posted a fix in the Mahdi ROM forum, I'm just sharing.
The fix is a build prop change.
1) Navigate to system/buildprop using a root explorer (I use the Root Explorer app)
2) Open the build prop in a text editor.
3) Scroll down until you see two "ro.product.device=d800 (Mine says d800 because I have the AT&T G2, so yours might say something else)
4) Thanks to Eduqay, you also need to change "ro.product.model=" make sure it says "ro.product.model=hammerhead".
5) Change whatever is after the = sign to "hammerhead - for example: ro.product.device=hammerhead.
You might have to change one, save, then reopen the build prop file and change the other for it to stick.
Reboot and have fun!
Thanks but not works here (d802 CloudyG3 1.2).
Not work (Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 + Android 4.4.4 + CyanogenMod 11-20140711-NIGHTLY-i9100)

Different problem here, about 10 second lag using screen mirroring but audio works fine with minimal issues (Spotify for example). Netflix/youtube/etc all work fine when using the built in cast buttons.
Happens on stock and CloudyG3, factory reset didn't help anything. All works perfectly on a 2013 Nexus 7 using the same chromecast/network so it is something with my G2.

why "fixing" things? G2 is officially supported and works flawlessly for screen casting.

Already booted and running. Rom is buttery smooth and everything that should be working is working. LTE/Data is functional on the first boot. NFC still borked. GPS locked with no issues. Bluetooth with my Moto 360 appears to be working as it should be. Only thing I've seen so far that's kinda weird is with the DPI. If you look in the top right of the posted photo, the DPI has the buttons in the settings area super tiny. Otherwise it's totally on-par with CM12 right now. Nice work! Can't wait to see what direction this one will go in!
Edit: Instead of saying "no sim card" the lockscreen now says, "SIM/RUIM IS PERSO LOCKED - SPRINT". I find that funnier, somehow. Lol
Question...
Is screen cast broken in all of cm 12 builds? It work from the chrome cast app but not from the pull down
