[Q] What is the use of SD Card 2nd Partition? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have a question about 2nd partition in SD card in ext2 or ext3. I found it in Link2SD. Why do we need it? To store installed apps? But we have an option to install apps into external storage(SD card) already in Setting. What is it created for?

[Q] Formatting the Internal SD

CM9 / ICS
I'm looking to find out how in the heck to install apps into the phone's internal SD partition.
To free up internal memory, I know you can format a microSD card into an EXT and FAT partition. Then you link apps using link2SD, freeing up more internal memory and storing most data on the microSD card, in the EXT partition.
I'd like to do exactly this, but with the internal SD partition acting as the microSD card. That is, format the internal partition into FAT and EXT, then use link2SD to link to the new EXT partition on the internal SD card.
Minitool Partition Wizard just will not do it. How is this possible? Is this even possible??

[Q] Internal memory

Hey guys,
I have only 1.5GB available internal memory in my phone. I can't install HD games, please tell me if there's a way to install and play from sd card only. I have a 32 GB SD card. I have already tried Foldermount and ApptoSD etc. I have also posted my vold.fstab file.
Thanks.
Bump
Try partitioning your sdcard with a sd-ext partition, and then installing your apps on there.

Can't move apps in link2sd

First of all, yes I'm rooted, yes I've created 2 partitions on my sd card, one fat32 the other ext2 and they're both primary yet I still can't move apps to my sd card not sure whether it's just the phone as I can create links, anyone know what the issue is?

[Q] SK17i and SD Partition

Hello, recently I created a 2GB ext2 partition on my 32GB SD Card with CWM. The problem here is that I have the
feeling that the partition slowed the phone down instead.
I'm running stock ICS.
Should I create a backup in CWM, create an ext3 2GB partition again and then restore sd-ext with CWM ?
One more thing I want to ask is that when I move the Boat Browser to SD card and link everything with Link2SD the
shortcut on the home screen disappears after every boot. how do I fix this ?
