HELP PLEASE!! No backup/rom install mistake - HTC One X+

I did not backup because I thought I had already done so. Apparently it was wiped at some point and I didn't add the right file to my phone. I just need some way to add the ROM to my internal sdcard

install TWRP recovery and use "sideload" or "push" the rom across to your phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995002
adb push rom.zip /data/media/

sometimes sideloading is a pig to get working but just select sideload from recovery and push your file across. Trust me it does work I always wipe everything on my phone between rom flashes.

Would you be able to give me some steps? I have TWRP installed already.
I clicked ADP sideload on my toolkit. Im in recovery, I typed in "adb sideload <Ubuntu.zip>", "adb sideload Ubuntu.zip", "adb push Ubuntu.zip" and it's still not working

Well, I got the file on there, but now it's still freezing at the same screen. I'll give another ROM a try and see what happens..

I can't get sideload to work now.....
"Starting ADB sideload feature..." is all it says when I go Advanced/ADB sideload
I'm not sure how I got it to work before.... Now I can't even get the device to show up...

YYYYYYYYYAAAAY!!! I fixed it. Thanks for the tip man. You showed me the path and it was rough, but everything works great now.

yep sideload takes a while before it shows up on your pc

You can flash cwm through adb. Adb might be buggy through recovery it was at first. I'd post on the twrp thread to see if a someone has an idea

I had this problem myself today and started freaking out. After a brief 15 second panic attack I realized I could side load. I have twrp and sideloaded very easily.
I used the all in on toolkit listed in the android dev section and cleanrom 1.5. I put cleanrom on my desktop and renamed it to Rom.zip. I started the aio tool which has a button for sideloading a Rom. Boot the phone into recovery and plug it into your pc. (I am assuming you have the HTC drivers installed) From TWRP click on advance and the adb sideload. Then click the side load button on the aio tool. This will attempt to reboot your phone first but since you're already there just close the command prompt that comes up. A new window will come up for you to chose the zip. Navigate to your desktop and pick the zip you put on the desktop (longer paths seem to cause issue with sideloading). Then it will push the zip to your phone. The command prompt on your pc will have a percentage progress. Once done just flash that zip like normal.
I had to reboot my phone using the volume down power button method before I could get back to twrp and the install froze once in Aroma. But I just flashed it again and it worked. Once I got it back I just put my backup back on the phone, booted back to twrp, and restored my backup.
Sorry if this seems unorganized, had two toddlers crawling all over me while. typing. Using the AIO should work

[Q] Can't boot past HTC Logo

I was on CleanROM 1.5 for AT&T, but decided to switch to ARHD for continued updates. Flashed the ROM and the problem began. I've since tried to go back to cleanrob via pushing the rom with adb, no go. I've wiped the phone countless times. I've erased the fastboot cache. I've switched TWRP/CWM neither changed anything. Fixed permission, flashed the boot images associated with each rom. Let it hang on the HTC screen for 30 minutes. I've exhausted the extent of google. Can anyone help?
Did you try adb sideload. Open clockwork and click install from sideload. Then go to command prompt, the adb directory and type adb sideload romname.zip.
Try Cleanrom, works for me.

I've tried everything, apparently something is wrong with partitions. No one seems to know how to fix it.

HTC ONE X+ stuck in bootloop

my device is stuck in bootloop with no backup and is not showing up in adb for me to push rom to phone? suggestions????
What Version of adb do you have and which recovery are you using

Reboot into recovery, find the adb sideload option, activate it. Run adb sideload romname.zip on your computer where romname.zip is the ROM you want to flash. Sometimes it will take a number of minutes for your computer to recognize your device once it is in sideload mode. Just keep trying. I've had more luck doing this with TWRP than with CWM. We really should sticky some sort of sideload instructions...

1.0.31 and tried both twrp and cwm
have you waited a few minutes and tried executing the adb sideload command on your computer multiple times when trying to sideload with TWRP?

Install TWRP instead of CWM! AFAIK adb sideload does not work on CWM recovery, had the same problem when i needed to use this command for the first time.

It has to work, believe me. Are you on latest TWRP 2.5.0.0? If not, you should probably update. Erasing cache in fastboot ("fastboot erase cache") may help sometimes. Did you wait long enough for adb to recognize your phone in sideload mode (may take some minutes)?
If not:
1. Boot your phone in recovery, connect it to your computer and start sideload mode in recovery.
2. Open command line, navigate to the folder where your adb/fastboot files are (you must also copy the desired rom.zip file into this folder)
3. Type "adb start-server" and now wait some minutes.
4. Type "adb devices", your device should now be listed there in sideload mode. If not, wait some more time and try again
(10 min should be enough, if not, there's probably something wrong with the driver or adb files on your computer)
5. Now you can type "adb sideload name_of_your_rom.zip"
It should work now. when it's finished, the rom.zip file is saved on your phones internal memory as "sideload.zip"
If not, there must be something wrong with your driver and/or adb/fastboot files. Try reinstalling them then.

So sideload did not work with toolkit i guess? It may take some minutes for your computer to recognize your phone in recovery or adb sideload state. Honestly said i don't use the toolkit.
What i recommend is:
- read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213910
and set up an adb/fastboot environment like explained. copy the desired rom into this adb/fastboot folder.
- boot your phone in recovery, connect it to your computer, start adb sideload in TWRP
- open command line (if necessary navigate to your adb/fastboot folder) and type "adb start-server"
- wait some minutes and type "adb devices". your device should now be listed there as in sideload mode. if it's not the case, repeat this step.
(shouldn't take more than 10 minutes for your pc to recognize your phone, otherwise there's most likely something wrong with your driver)
- now that it shows up in the list as in sideload mode, type "adb sideload name_of_your_rom.zip" and command line should start displaying progress in %.
When it is finished, rom installation should be started automatically. Otherwise, the rom is now saved as "sideload.zip" on the root of your virtual sdcard folder, so you can flash it.
Also don't forget to install the right boot.img/kernel for the rom!

Did you flash the correct boot.img like i said? what boot logo is it? the "htc quietly brilliant" one or the "htc one" with beats audio logo?
If it's the first one you did not flash the boot.img.
If second (and of course you did flash the boot.img), there must be something else wrong. boot in recovery:
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Check all boxes > Swipe to wipe > reinstall rom!
Just DON'T format /data partition.
you were right thank you very much!:fingers-crossed:

I did the same thing yesterday, as it was my first time using TWRP (always been a CWM guy), All you have to do to fix it is go into advanced and go into adb sideload, put your rom in you adb folder and run this command
adb sideload nameofzip.zip
Then the zip will be placed in internal storage named sideload.zip and you can flash it.

I would try to plug in the USB after your already in recovery.
If you cant get that to work you can always buy this:
https://shopmeenova.appspot.com/st/order.html
its a microusb to microsd its a good worst case and will get you up and running.
do you still have the rom that errored out on you on your internal storage? if so you can always try a fresh wipe and try to install again.
