Traded galaxy note 2 for HTC one - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Well I just recently traded my note 2 for the HTC one on craigslist no money just phone for phone and I like this phone alot. Did I get better deal.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

Depends, did you get a good device, with no faults? I personally wouldn't trade my Note II, but since Note II at the moment costs less than the One, so from that perspective it's a good deal.

HTC One is a faster device with a better screen and better hw
The Note 2 has some nice feats too but the One is a better phone overall
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app

I too came from a Note 2 and I don't regret it at all. The Note 2 is a great phone, but I could never get used to the size. It's a bit of a shock coming back to a smaller screen, but the overall experience is a bit better I think.
I believe you got the better deal.

I did the opposite, returned the htc one and got the note 2.

Yea phone looks good no faults on phone loved my note 2 just wanted to try out HTC one and so far it's great.

Just make sure the guy doesn't report it lost or something and it gets blacklisted...not sure if this still happens since t-mobile changed it's carrier plans and stuff

Just make sure you know that it doesn't have a removable battery or a microSD slot.
Haha, jk,

Note advantages are the pen, user replaceable battery, expandable memory card and in every other case the HTC ONE wins.

What's Your Opinion On the Trade?

Do you have anything to comment between the two?
I have a Note 2 and tested the One at a store. I still prefer the Note. I read a lot of news articles and found the Note to contain a tad more information on the screen than the One, despite the lower resolution. Also the fonts are large and easier to read. However the fonts on the One are a tad sharper. The Note also has useful S-Pen features for note taking while on the phone.
Not sure if the One has multi-window features and airview, but I've found those to be useful.
As for the aluminum case on the One, it's nice. But I use cases, and whichever phone is in the case, it'll feel the same. Therefore, the aluminum case advantage gets negated.
I see the S4 to be better than the Note 2, being able to fit the same amount of content on the screen, but in a smaller, easier to handle package. However, given I'm barely through my contract, it's not worth it to pay up for the S4.
For my daily use, I'm not swayed to switch to the One.

I've switched to an HTC One from a Note 2 but the guy who was going to by my Note 2 bailed on me so I currently have both. I've come back temporarily to the Note 2 but I really can't decide which is best.
The feel of the One is so awesone I absolutely will not put a case on it....with the Note 2 it's a must.
The battery life on the Note 2 is amazing but only mediocre on the One.
I have 20/10 vision but I honestly can't tell a difference in screens other than the obvious size.....and at that, can't decide which I prefer.
The sound on the One blows away the Note's.
The feature bloat on the Note 2 is worse than the One but the carrier bloat on the One is worse than the Note's since I haven't rooted and rom'd it yet.
I think Sense looks much better than TouchWiz but I'm using Nova Launcher on the Note 2 to emulate the look of the One.
I absolutely love and miss multi-window and the pop up browser from my Note 2 and I can't find replacements to use on the One.
The faults everyone mentions about the One (non removable battery and no micro sd slot) are really not a big deal to me and the faults everyone mentions about the Note 2 (plastic build and ugly interface) I've remedied with a case and Nova Launcher.
All in all, I'm pretty much on the fence about which I prefer so I just listed both on CL and will keep whichever one doesn't sell.

Do you use a case? If you do, the build quality and feel is not a factor?
I can't imagine myself carrying around a nice aluminum phone, dropping it, denting it and scratching it. It will feel like crap with all the rough, scratched edges, and dents. At that point, the Samsung will feel better.

actually... Note 2 is $50 more expensive than HTC One still ( Uncarrier/Value plan pricing...cause thats all that matters.. subsidized plans on tmo are dumb to do with new pricing )\
with that being said.. i still think you got a better deal.. HTC One is a superior device
faster processor
better screen ( although a little smaller )
better sound
better build quality
less awkward/bulky when using it due to tablet size of Note 2

I have 15/20 vision and I can't tell a difference honestly. Post proper calibration that is, before that it looked just okay-ish and obviously would look much inferior with it's terrible calibration. The only place I can tell somewhat of a difference is browsing, it's a bit less sharper - but the size makes up for it IMO.
But yeah, depends on your utility really.

Less awkardy/bulky isn't necessarily a con, people buy it for the size, usually. And some prefer some bulk to the device. Rest, I agree.
Never realized Note II was more expensive though, wow. Thanks for that info! :good:

No case. The One is just too amazing to cover up. A risk? Yes. I feel it's worth it.
As an aside, my wife has a One X that also has excellent build quality. She has dropped it, carries it loose in her purse, and is all around not too careful with it and it still looks great. My Note 2 has been in a case since the day I bought it.
P.S. Back on the One for a bit and I remembered a few of things:
It feels much more premium in hand compared to the Note 2.
It gets warm during use.
Not all apps are optimized so you get the menu button taking up a lot of screen space on the bottom.

The One is really more expensive than the Note 2, you can find the Note 2 on CG for 400 if you are lucky but usually around 450. The One actually sells for what T-Mobile sells it on places like CG and Ebay. So yeah, Note 2 has a higher MSRP but in reality, less expensive, it is an older phone so...

I can confirm this as I had both listed and got many more inquiries for the One. Probably because it's not widely available yet.

I traded my Note 2 plus 50 for HTC one in new condition. Was that a good and smart deal? I personally love this phone but was it worth it adding 50$?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

I recently just got a N2 a couple months ago and tried to hold out for either the One or S4, but always wanted a bigger screen for entertainment purposes. Once you get used to the size, it's like anything else, however feel spoiled now and don't think I can go smaller now.
Went to test out the One and s4 a week or so ago and if I liked one, put up the n2 on Cl and the like, but neither one could sway me, mostly due to the screen real estate and awesome battery life.
Also for some no sd slot or non removable battery can be fine for them, but is another deal breaker for me. It's so convenient to swap batteries and or get a bigger extended battery and never have to be plugged in. It's so nice as every device I have had that was set up like that I would have to charge in the middle of the day. Hated that!
Also, I can't hardly tell the difference between any of the screens in the One, s4 or n2. Yeah colors are more saturated on Samsung due to touch wiz and Sense it's more natural. Besides that hardly a difference besides maybe more sharpness on the One.
All the phones were blazing fast. Didn't notice any hiccups on any of them.
Drives me nuts you lose screen real estate on the One....
Also, I would have a case on any phone I get, so negates the awesome looking One.
So with that and not really wanting to go smaller in the s4, I will wait to see what the n3 has in store and I know now I am completely content with the N2! It's my favorite Android to date, and had a lot of them.
Not saying the One isn't an awesome device, just not practical for my instance.

I'm sure you know this but the physical size of the screen does not equal more real estate. 1920 x 1080 simply put displays more content, albiet on a smaller physical canvas. 800 x 600 on a 17" CRT looks neat, but a 14" 1600 x 900 is superior, and so on.
I cannot go back (sold Note 2 and selling N4 for the One). Dat skreen and sound.

Less than 2 weeks left on my return window..

I love the note. I have 2 weeks or so left that I can return the phone.
The reason I started this thread is because I was wondering if anyone of you would rather have the One X over this phone. The One X looks awesome. I don't know if I want that or the note. I could open a second line and have both, as I've seen some people do that. But I'm not sure how practical that would be. I don't know what I would need to use the note for if I had the One X also.
The only thing I can do if I just want the One X is take this phone back, cancel the AT&T account, re-open the account with a different phone and exchange when the One X comes out in the beginning of May (if it does come out then). Not sure how much AT&T would like that and if even I would want to go through all that.
I guess I'm just looking for opinions on what you guys would do and your interests in the One X.
Tough choice. Both phones have their pros and cons. The Note has a bigger screen, removable battery, SD card. The One X is probably going to have performance and a better camera.
I've gotten pretty used to the size of the Note, and I really like the screen too. Battery life is something that was always a problem for me on my last 2 HTC phones, so that would make me a little hesitant.
Buy the One X straight out. No contract discount. And sell the GNote, because you'll end up paying more with the other ways.

I've never owned an HTC device personally, but my girlfriend has owned nothing but. So she's always on the latest HTC and I'm always on the latest Samsung.
Just from playing with her Evo 3D, I have found I don't really like the Sense UI (One X is supposed to have Sense 4 which people have been saying is more intuitive) and I hate that HTC always makes the camera lens project out from their phones.
Otherwise, I just love the Note's big screen. I was nervous about how practical it would be at first, but now that I'm used to it I would hate to have to go back to a smaller device.
All that said - my girlfriend is stoked about the One X and will probably be switching to AT&T to pick one up.
Its all personal preference.

Honestly, I would keep the Note. You sound like me. When a new device comes out, I'm tempted to get it. More times than not, I end up regretting it. I thimk you will miss the Note if you get rid of it. As nice as the One X looks, it still has a few deal breakers that prevents me from getting it.
-Sense UI
-No removeable battery
-No SD card slot
-Smaller screen
Also, I watched a video on the One X and people have noticed that the back of the phone is not solid. People are able to push on it, causing a sinking effect.

Read Engadget's review of the One X vs. One S that's one of their newest articles. The One X has performance, no doubt, but neither have stellar battery life. 6 hours on rundown test for the One X - the ATT GNote got over 8 hours and has a bigger screen to boot. If anything, take your Note back and go to your old phone and wait for the SGS3. If it uses a new Exynos processor, the battery and performance should rock - plus Samsung said that battery life is going to be a focus in all future phones.
HTC One series seem to have pretty crappy screens. Haven't liked HTC in the past and will stick to Samsung from now on. Plus rumors that future Samsung phones (Starting with SGS3) will give users the ability to pick a vanilla launcher or TouchWiz.
Personally, I'd keep the Note. Great device so far and now that ICS is in the hands of Dev's, it's gonna get rockin'. Fast.
ATT One X = 16 gigs internal memory with no support for memory card; deal breaker. Period.
Non-removable battery, and no sd card slot. Why would you even consider this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
The one thing that would bug the crap out of me is laying the one X down flat on a desk. It will wobble due to the rear camera protruding out. Even with a case on, I bet it still sticks out. Esthetically...the one X lost my interest already. Not to mention no sd card slot and removable battery. However, the Sprints version will have both sd card slot and removable battery E4GLTE.
But thats my opinion. At the end, you shoukd do whats best for you. Thats the good thing about androids...you have options!

You have to take all the performance parts of the Engadget article with a HUGE grain of salt. They tested the international One X versus the the international One S. The ATT One X is actually a One XL and is based on the same chipset as the One S. So assume what little advantage it had on the One S will be lost or perhaps forfeited since it is driving a much larger resolution on the same chipset. (These LTE devices being brought to ATT seem to suffer a bit on processor in order to get better data throughput)
Everything I have been reading leads me to believe that screen will actually beat the Note's though. Same resolution, but smaller, better viewing angles and comparable brightness. Reviewers have actually been comparing these exact screens.
I wouldn't buy it for the screen though. I don't really trust HTC yet. Primarily I can't stand Sense, even if it is supposed to be lighter now. I had a Nexus One and liked it, but it was deeply flawed. Every HTC device since has been a let down on one level or the other, and they are all heavy weights with bad batteries. No SD, a fixed battery, Sense, probable locked bootloaders and a dubious claim that they are changing their marketing strategy makes me want to sit this one out.

Formers S3 owners...

Just curious to see how former S3 owners are enjoying their Note 2. I'm on the fence right now, the size is not a big deal as I feel I can adapt to it pretty quickly. The bigger screen size and multi view options really interest me. What were the big drivers for you to jump from the S3 to the Note 2? How would you compare the experiences?
TIA
I had the s3 and I'd say it would be like comparing a wrx to the st or z06 to the zr1i. Both are awesome but one is just a little bit better. Bigger, faster, and just overall more awesomer lol. I like playing with the stylus, split screen, bigger screen plus I'm a phone whore so I'm always trading.

Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
F'n love it! Battery is incredible (I'd say close to double the screen-on time). Multi window is really cool too, and with root you can get ALL apps loaded in it, where as with stock there were only like 6 apps available in multi window, which made it useless.
I'm actually liking the spen too (writing this post with it). Along with that, I also suggest the flygrip, it makes using this massive phone with one hand not only possible, but convenient and comfortable. It doubles as a kick stand too, which I like to do 180 portrait mode, and it sits firm where you can use the spen and hit menus/home button without it falling over. I actually used it on the S3 until I got my note, and I love it! I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon, so my network is 10 times better now as well.
The S3 is great, and if T Mobile lets me off the hook from my cancellation I'm still going to keep it for an mp3 player etc...but IMO this Note 2 blows it away with just the battery alone...which is crazy because the screen is way bigger AND way brighter. I couldn't even see my s3 if it was a halfway sunny day.
So yeah, you could say I'm a fan

Jump in! I truly loved my sg3... for 30 days I had it..lol. Note 2 came out on day 29 and I dropped by best buy just to see the "Beast" before my return date was up. Took one look and held it.. and that was it. Sg3 was awesome. Fast. Smooth and powerful. Note 2 is just a whole different world. Has completely changed my mobile computing/productivity. For me it was when Mugen made a 6400mah battery for it. That's more power than my galaxy tab 7.7 which is only 5100mah. I like to read books on my tablet which is painful on my small rezound. I just have to figure on which color, I know crazy. I prefer black to grey, but white is selling for a higher price on ebay( now that's crazy).

Its been a rather busy year for me on the phone front. I started the year off with a Thunderbolt, followed up by a Rezound, and then purchased Galaxy S3 in July.
Suffice to say the S3 was the best of the lot. When I got the S3, I thought I had found the promise of Android. Finally the OS had been optimized and I felt confident that I would keep the S3 for at least a year. Then came the Note 2, and a window of opportunity. I had an upgrade that I HAD to use before January (dont ask) and so I sold my S3 on Gazelle for almost 300 and put the order in.
I wont lie, initially and still it feels a little awkward handling the Note 2. Its big, its a lot bigger than the S3. The S3's ergonomics were spot on and like most any well designed phone you tend to forget your holding something. You just use the interface..the body goes away in the interaction. But with the Note 2 I haven't gotten there yet, I am still very aware that I'm working to grasp a device and the interface comes a second later.
There is a slight disconnect because you have to physically accommodate the phone ya know?
That being said there are a number of features in the Note 2 that go a very very long way to making you forgive (and maybe forget) its girth. The screen is just awesome, its the big screen jumbo man TV of the smartphone world. How can you hate that!? If you have any love for tech your drawn to it like moth to a flame. Its stunning. Watching YouTube in bed is like having my 58inch plasma on my chest...MWAHAAH!..I dunno..there's something about that. I dig it.
Also compared to the S3, its faster, the antenna seems to be better, and that has that fancy pen. Outside of that, there isn't much that makes this a giant leap from the S3. For me its really just about the screen and maybe the possibility of having a more capable hacked and overclocked quad core monster after I root it, but that is still a ways off.
Imo its just a bigger s3....I really don't get the big deal of multi view. I have no regrets though. I love it.

Anyone else COMPLETELY spoiled by Notes screen size?

Thought of going with a Nexus 4...my friend got one today...4.7 inches feels SO DAMN SMALL!
I have seriously been spoiled here...anyone else this way too? Kind of limits my phone options a little bit...even the GNote 2 feels smaller (due to narrower screen).
Hmmm...
Yep! My wife has my Ion now (4.6") and I hold it and it feels TINY. iphone 5 feels like a kiddie toy! This feels normal to me and everyone else says its huge lol

Yeah I've been completely spoiled since it released. Couldn't go back down in size for anything no matter the specs. I'm likely going to stick it out with the i717 until note 3 or something else next year comes. My wife has a galaxy s3 which feels nice actually, but I just really enjoy the real estate far to much.

I, too, have decided to stick with my Note and wait for the Note3. Decided to spend my money on fragrances and clothing.

Ditto. We are two versions behind now and probably 3 before att releases it
Yeah, I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to anything smaller. Everything just feels so small compared to my Note...
There is no way I could go back to a phone any smaller than the Note! My wife has an iPhone 4s and its just so small! Couldn't do it. I got rid of my 7" tablet because I found myself using the Note for everything I used to use the tablet for.

I'm also going to wait it out for the note3. I wasn't even tempted to buy the nexus 4 since the screen is smaller than the note. Maybe it will be worth the wait and the note3 will have 1 week battery life. :victory:
Yep, when I bought my Note I was fully aware the Note 2 was just a few months away. But when I learned the Note 2 was losing the slightly thicker screen for a standard wide-screen form factor, with no bump in resolution or camera, I decided not to wait.

I did the same with my tablet. I had a Playbook (which really is a killer tablet, best I've ever used) but after owning the Note I realized I hadn't touched my tablet in a couple weeks. Had no desire to really. Sold it!
I tell people if you are in the market for a new phone and tablet, just get a Note! It really is a all around replacement.

This is my problem with the Note 2...played with one for the first time the other day at the Verizon store and even though the screen is technically larger it sure as hell didn't feel like it. That's the problem with the Note 1...not only has the size spoiled me, but the 16:10 aspect ratio has spoiled me too. Which sucks because now I'm REALLY limited in my phone choices (uhh...one choice...)!

Same here. Even holding a SIII felt so small...and its, what, 4.7 inches?! Don't even get me started on the iPhone 4/5...they feel like tiny MP3 players or something. Couldn't even use one if it was given to me!
I'm spoiled. Won't mind owning a Note 2. I don't like the new design really. Note 3 for me though. I think Huawei is coming out with a 6.1 inch Note competitor.
BlackStar XI Samsung Galaxy Note I717
I feel spoiled in general by Samsung, as their AMOLED screens can't be topped. Yeah, the Note has, IMO, the best screen on a phone to date, but I still appreciate my secondary phone, a Galaxy Nexus, and also at times my old Infuse and Captivate that are sitting in a drawer back home.
Though I do wish Samsung had kept the 16:10 aspect ratio, the Note 2 is nothing to scoff at. If I had the funds available to buy one, I would in a heartbeat. I'm happy with my current Note though, so it will definitely be the Note 3 for me. Let's hope they go at least 5.5" 1080p, if not up to 6". What would be really sweet would be to see them put a matte finish on the glass that doesn't distort the resolution... it's possible, but not probable. I'd also like to see them bring back a metal back like on the Captivate... Samsung got design right with that one. At the very least, a textured back again like the Nexus or on my Note's flip cover. Enough of the glossy plastic Samsung.

Funny how its bigger but has less square inch space. They changed the aspect ratio of the screen by stretching it out skinny. I think the screen on the 1 is better personally.
I am spoiled but I'd still like to trade my note for a galaxy nexus.
I plan on finding out about the Note 2 sometime in February.

He need help deciding.

Hey everyone. I know this has been beaten to death but I'm having hard time making a decision.
I have had an AT&T HTC One for the past week or so. I'm very happy with the phone and have had really no issues. I'm running 4.2.2 in it and am happy. Problem is I am seriously considering switching to the s4.
There are some features the s4 offers that I really like. (multi-view, flip to ignore, etc.)
I had One X switched to the s3 then to an iphone 5 but missed android so came back and got the HTC One. Like I said I like the one. The button layout doesn't bother me although I do like the physical home button on the S. The speakers are awesome and the screen is very nice.
I just don't know what to do. I still have time to swap it for an S before my 14 days expire but don't want to regret switching.
Opinions???

In the same boat...I've actually got an S4 and a One right now, (the S4 goes to the wife at the end of the week) and I just can't decide if I like the S4 over the One. Both phones are fantastic, but the S4 has a few significant advantages to me that make me want to switch, but the One has other items that make me want to stay. I've got until Friday and it is just driving me nuts.
Here are my deciding factors, just in case they might help you out.
S4 Positives: a real customizable notification light, bigger screen (i also prefer OLED for the deeper blacks), side power button, camera outdoor performance, battery life is greater
One Positives: speakers (tho can be bad because even on the lowest level they are LOUD), camera speed and low light performance, build quality
So yeah...a few for each and I just have to decide which ones are most important to me.
I swapped out my One for an s4 today.

No regrets so far. Actually really liking the S4 so far. The stock keyboard seems much easier to type one compared to the one for me. Liking some of the features a lot, especially multi-view. Screen is nice. I got the 32 gig version and have a 64 gig SD card in as well so plenty of storage.

I spent 2 weeks going back and forth between the 2 phones and I'm a rep for AT&T, so I got to play with them both all day. I even had the One as my work phone for a week (not allowed to root work phone). I finally made my choice to make the HTC one my personal phone based on these reasons:
1) This is the main reason, I want my top of the line phone to be snappy and as fast as the specs say it should be. The S4 has horrible lag. Now when i say this, I'm the type of person that notices the small things. But I actually felt at times that the S4 got "stuck" on things (like switching from portrait to landscape) more so than my S3.
2) Media: Can't beat the speakers. And as for the camera, sure zooming in isnt as good as the S4 BUT the pictures are a lot less blurry on moving targets. I have kids and they move. What's the point in 13 MP if I can't see their faces? I hear the S4 is better to watch videos on screen wise. I didn't notice much difference. But having the speakers face me on the One was a plus.
3) The novelty on the S4 features, like eye scroll, wore off fast. Not only that, I had to turn then off to help the phone stop lagging. After a while, I honestly felt that all I was holding was an S3 with a better screen.
3.5) Sense 5 has a different keyboard and browser from the previous versions. Not only did it feel much different from my older HTCs, but for the first time I found myself using the STOCK keyboard and browser.
4) Screen Burn in. Just Google screen burn in on S4. And seeing all the super AMOLED screens have words burn in them from being on the AT&T display wall turned me off.
5) Development community: this sealed it for me. The hardware on the One is the same in the US as it is internationally. That means more development options. Also, there were a few trolls who owned S4s (especially on the AT&T side) who were really annoying and immature. The HTC One community, both US and International are awesome. Great people here.
Now I'm not bashing the S4, and if it seems like I'm nitpicking, that's because I am. Like I said, it took me 2 weeks of constant comparing to come to these conclusions. And at the end of it all, I felt like it was the HTC One, not the S4, that I couldn't bare the thought of not having.
Hope this helps buddy!

I have to completely agree with our ATT friend who is covered exactly the reasons why I switched to the One. Let me also add this to it.
I was an iPhone user since the iPhone 3G. I finally switched to Android with the One. Used it for about a week and loved it but saw all those S4 features and thought that's the phone. I jumped and switched and thought it is going to be great. After using the S4 for about two days I knew exactly why I didn't like Androids. It lags, the features are gimmicky and drain the battery. They don't work with all applications either.
Long story long, I switched back to HTC One and haven't had to modify or root this one because this phone is fast and responsive as it is. (I did root and install and subsequently uninstall bunch of mods)
Almost all benchmarks will tell you that S4 is faster, but unfortunstely the real world usage will reveal otherwise. I did feel that's the S4 was easier and lighter to hold.
I personally think that HTC One beats iPhone 5 (using mine as iPod now) but S4 doesn't hold a candle to either.

I'll quote myself to say that after the 14 days, I still really don't have a good answer to this dilema but the HTC One and Beats pill speaker for $99 sealed it for me. I like both phones A LOT, but the slight sluggishness on the S4 is what ultimately swayed me towards the one, even before I saw the link for the deal.

Talk me out of it... Thinking of trading my HTC one for note 3

Note 3 looks nice, can't really argue that. However, it's still not a beautiful phone like the one. I get compliments on it wherever I go. That's a great feeling. The one is a wow phone, the gn3 isn't really that impressive. It's got a whole list of cool features I think would be fun to have, however i wouldn't trade my one for them. It's really up to what you like. If you think you'll use the stylus for more than just fooling around with the features and showing your friends, get it! If you're going to use it as a cool party trick or just to say your phone can do that, stick with the one.

I used to think that until I had the One long enough to worry about its safety, now it looks like a phone in a case. A nice case, but still a case.
-So beauty is mostly moot.
The note is solely for people who will use the stylus, and I would. Drawing and writing freehand would be a great addition for work and play plus they'd be party tricks that other phones can't do.
-So the note is a better social crutch phone.
The ability to learn every bars TV remote, AC units, SoundFreaq stereo, and a half dozen other random IR gadgets I use daily?
Only the One can learn any code letting me never have to suffer through football games at bars(discovery channel!), secretly change the temperature/volume from my desk, couch, bed, HTC made a damn good choice by adding a IR receiver as well as blaster...
I'm not against your choice of wanting to switch, just take a long look at touchwiz on the s4 because I didn't do that and I ended up hating the s4 because of touchwiz and now I'm back with the one, just make sure you know what your getting into and then ur decision will be easy, I'm happy to be a one owner just give me 4.3 already haha

i think the note 3 is awesome, accept for touchwiz. the snapdragon 800 processor, clocked at 2.3GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU and 3gbs of ram would be a nice upgrade. also a bigger screen and bigger battery that is removable. as long as it isnt laggy like the s4 is. i took that phone back because of the horrible lag. lol
I went from the note to the note 2 then to the HTC one. I'll probably swap it out again once the note 3 is released. It looks like a great phone. Not that there's anything wrong with the one. But I personally have a phone addiction

Coming from a GS2 to my One.. I miss the hell out of Touchwiz. Not in design, but functionality. Sense is a fricking nightmare to do anything on. Touchwiz on the other hand doesn't pull any tricks. Touchwiz still works with USB mass storage mode, doesn't have the EQ locked down to the crappy Beats EQ, easy to remove bloatware (won't reinstall on boot like Sense does)
While Sense is faster, better looking and smoother, Touchwiz just flat out much more functional and works better. It's getting to the point where I'm considering giving up the One for a GS4. As much as I love the speakers, screen quality, and build quality, using it is just a pain. I can't even get accurate data transfer speeds in Windows.
Just my opinion though.

Love my HTC One, the options and everything are great. The UI isn't difficult at all, I find it nice on the eyes, and easy to use. Build quality is firm and nice and no issues at all on first handset. Did I need the upgrade coming from the s3? Absolutely not.. Was it worth the 650$ absolutely, but I was disgusted with my s3. It's plastic and cartoonish looks just annoyed me lol. I get compliments up the wazoo about my One, looks and feels great all around, and the stock launcher has enough good I don't even use my paid Nova or Apex or Action Launcher or any of them, sense has the greatest Widgets and looks out the box. Other than that no expandable storage is annoying for some, and no removable battery as well I guess. 32 GB is plenty for me, and I bought an external charger that does wonders on certain types of days or emergency's. It's all user preference in the long run.
Wait for the One Max?

I work at Best Buy and my Samsung rep had a Note 3 when he came in last week. It is a very nice looking and feeling device. The deep black with a brushed look on the front and the the leather back and metal looking sides are nice to hold and look at. It is super quick and I experienced no lag. It has some very cool features and I really liked it, but it's just too big for me. Although it felt nice to hold and not too large in my hand. You are talking about two completely different devices with the One and the Note 3.
This message brought to you in part by Sprint and the letters GS and the number 4
If you want to, do it.
Im getting rid of my One because I for the Moto X. As far as a samsung device... You gotta be crazy to get into that TW crap.
Should have got the Cimo grip back clear TPU case look it up on Amazon. Only case for the HTC One should have come in the box. Looks naked preserving all the beauty of the phone with the protection of a D30. $10 get one till be so glad you did it's TPU so it's a super firm plastic almost like a hard case with some flex but it softens up a bit with use. But the firmness gives way more protection then a silicone case. I had a D30 on my old phone they feel identical. Great case for those of us that appreciate the beauty of this phone.
