got a Micro SD Card from your old phone full of media and such? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

With OTG cable and a tiny little reader you can use it
get otg cable from amazon, and this micro Sd card reader http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HGFKR8/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
super tiny and it works great.
cost for both items under 15 bucks shipped.
Only thing I've noticed, the One couldn't read my 64 GB card formatted in xFat, I reformatted it FAT 32 and it works fine

Gunny, any particular OTG cable you recommend or use for your One?

I don't even remember which one I got. They're all the same. Check monoprice also.

Thanks, now need me find one for my One!

I have this small OTG. I haven't tried it in my one, but it works in all my nexus devices and worked in my GS3 (currently has a 32 GB tiny USB drive plugged into it)

I got it on ebay
Here is one I just found there
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Pcs-Right...Phone_PDA_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3a7c365fb4
If you search you can find straight ones as well (with the right angle they don't always fit if you have a case on depending on the case)
edit: found one http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Micro-B...Phone_PDA_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3a7bb42146

just bought this one. It's straight and tiny! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281092608855

Nice, I plan on picking up a straight one too. The only case I had issues with using the right angle one is my nexus 7. I like using the right angle better since it runs parallel with the bottom of the phone/tablet instead of sticking out of it hence making it a bit less noticeable. I mostly use it on my nexus tablets.

Do you happen to know if a split cable with usb charging on it was ever made to work, or can the port not be a host and charge at the same time?

Here's a picture of my new otg adapter with card reader attached. Me like.

Full size USB adapter

I know the dock will have 2 full size USB ports. But honestly I'd rather just have a little adapter that I can plug into it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will have one so hopefully Asus or another brand will produce one to compete!
Would something like this do the trick?

Oh gawd! With this delay and endlessly searching for release times, I forgot about that
How about a dual Female A USB adaptor
Amazon: USB 2.0 Adapter Female A- Female A
...plugged to the cable adaptor that comes in the box?
The cable also has data connectivity for data transfer, it probably should do the trick.
I believe the HongKong electronic shops would come to the rescue. They are known to produce many useless converter before. I don't see why not this time. Probably straight from ASUS connector to USB.
I posted something on on Asus' Campus Life. Please his reply to it and respond requesting this accessory! Look for username Dean.

I hope they make something similar to the hinge on the keyboard dock, so it can actually latch on and has the two usb's and the SD slot, it would also make a nice grip when using the tf vertically. From the pics, what they have so far looks like it's going to stick out a lot and with something that big there is definitely more of a chance it will get knocked out and possibly damage the port.
Dont we have to have usb host support first for the transformer and dont we have to wait for honeycomb 3.1 for that?

Doesn't look so. And some people reported that Female A - Female A adaptors work for some devices (those that have their own power source probably) - there is a thread about it somewhere in this forum. I tried it but my pendrives nor mouse didn't work (there is probably no power line in the USB cable that is used for charging and connecting to computer).

Use old lapdock as a tablet dock?

Backstory:
I have a lapdock from my old Atrix that had the LCD go out on it. I was wondering if it would be possible to just use it as a battery, keyboard, and usb hub for my Nexus 7. I took apart the dock to access the micro usb plug to go into my Nexus 7 but have no use for the HDMI. However the lapdock is enabled when a device is plugged into the hdmi.
Question:
How do I enable the lapdock without anything plugged into the HDMI.

Can you get any pictures? It would be helpful.
If you the cables out, have you tried plugging the microusb into the nexus 7 and the microHDMI into the phone(to power it on) to test whether the nexus 7 even detects the keyboard, mouse, charger of the dock?

I Don't have any devices with micro HDMI anymore (Atrix went to craigslist). I ordered an adapter for regular USB but from China so who knows when I'll see that.
The nexus 7 doesn't support HDMI out at all. Google confirmed that... What you could do is make some like of dummy or I read somewhere to short some wires... Read before you do anything though...

I know the Nexus 7 doesn't support HDMI. Thats why I'm here asking if anyone knows how to short the HDMI. Having trouble finding anything on it.
sorry for digging and old thread but until now im using the lapdock as otg hub, a keyboard and track pad. i have to remove the lcd screen since i have no use for it. very useful indeed up to now 2018. i usually use this setup playing pubg mobile. i dont a tablet but probably it also works
if you have a broken lapdock lcd, then you can have mine for free. except you shoulder the shipping of course

MHL Adaptors (Mega 6.3)

I've order 2 different ones and neither one works. From what I can tell some of them have 5 pins and others have 11 (on the phone end).
The last one I got said it was specifically for the Mega 6.3 but it doesn't work either.
Just wondering if any of you have found one that does work for you?

Just plugged it in including USB power supply, no set-up necessary.
There will be a message on the phone's screen saying HDMI is connected.
Make sure your TV input is in the mode where you plugged in the HDMI.

Have you rooted your phone?
I rooted mine and then put the stock kernel back. But I did freeze alot of services, so maybe one of those is needed for MHL support. I got what I thought was the right MHL adaptor, now i'm starting to thing maybe its on the phone's end.

My phone is rooted with CWM installed. Check the cables you have if they are really 11 pin:
Both of the ones I have look like the old one, even though both of the amazon/ebay listings say that they work with the newer S4 and Note 2.
Hmmm. Very interesting...

They are probably wrong since they won't be able to test it without buying the phones. Maybe you can send them back and get a refund.

Black MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter OTG Card Reader Connection Kit

Hello Guys,
I don't know is should start this thread or not, just thought i should share this amazing device.
Black MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter OTG Card Reader Connection Kit
It let you connect to HDMI without external power, also if you use external power you can use HDMI and USB hard drive at the same time, it is just really really amazing, Sammy has really improved their MHL and OTG support.
Note: I am using this device on my Note 3 N9005 I am not sure about other devices

Black MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter OTG Card Reader Connection Kit
Mhl 2.0?
Iv been dealing with these for about a year now. From my s3 to my note 3. With the s3 it's 2.0 so you have to provide external power but these things are the tits when it comes to the note 3 with 3.0 you can run USB and HDMI without power. I play games and use it for work with all wireless accessories it's awesome. Supports 1080p at 60hrtz. We sell them in our repair shop and on Ebay. Not often though as "normal" people don't see the capabilities of this lol.
Go buy one their awesome.

It's not immediately apparent, but the device pictured (and others like it, one of which I have) do have a port for charging: the micro usb. When I got mine it took me a minute to realize that, then it hit me that power would really be the only use for that port. So I plug one of my Sammy charging cables into it during use.

°OnePlus Type-C OTG Cable° Original or NOT?

Hi
I know from the past that it's important in most cases to buy original assecoires, for example for the Iphone. For the iphone is best to use original or Certified products.
I wonder now, whether this also applies to the op5? . Or are the cheap accessories from ebay, aliexpress and so on also good?

Google engineer sais you shouldn't buy Oneplus USB Type-C cables.
https://www.theverge.com/2015/11/16/9742360/oneplus-usb-type-c-cable-adapter
The 1+ type C cables are set up to support DASH charge and should not be used with the other non DASH charge enabled phones for the reason stated. As to the OTG adapter that has nothing to do with DASH charge and should work just fine for its intended purpose. If you attempt to also use the OTG adapter with any other USB port charging source it should only operate as a slow charger for the 1+ phone.
