[Q] Best Governor (Scheduler) for battery life? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi,
what do you think is the best governor for battery life - I've excluded 'powersave' as performance should not drop to a minimum?
And which Scheduler do you recommend?

Wheatly is gud fr balance between performance and battery but its more towards performance..
U can use smartassv2 or hotplug for battery..
In scheduler use sio or row..
Sent from my ST25i

i think HotplugX with Row scheduler is good for battery life and performance

For me, pegasusq governor and sio scheduler is best.
Best for battery and performance.

my vote goes on HotplugX / Row

SmartassV2 + sio works best for me...

Trial and Error!
Trying it on my ported JB on ST25i, according to Achilles, governer Wheatley and scheduler SIO are being kept at a 400 to 1.2 range. Will post the gaming plus battery results with snaps later on

Balanced governor huh?

if you want both power saving and performance, i recommend you Pegasusq, Smartass, Sakuractive, or Minmax. but i prefer minmax :good:

I was using InteractiveX last time and i was very happy with performance and battery life.

I use smartassv2 when I am going yo use the phone for some time
And powersave at other times such as during night

For me hotplugx / row on 800/200. At games like bard's tale and vice city(80% resolution) no lags. Antutu score ~5.2k

I like Intellidemand / CFQ for 4.4.2 Good perfomance and battery IMHO.

On my LG Optimus G Pro E980, Wheatley governor and sioplus scheduler is best for me... 81mhz minimum and 1350mhz max... On my Samsung Galaxy Note, Pegasusq governor and sio scheduler.... The battery in the Note is awesome and runs like 5 days... I run custom roms on both with Trickster Mod for kernel tweaks... =)

@nerdyblonde
Well an LG is a different device then a Sony !
Kinda useless why you post info about an LG with what you have here in the Sony Xperia U/P/Go and Sola forum !!

This is difficult to say, as it depends on your hardware, apps, settings, region, carrier and usage ... and what is "best" for you (best performance or best battery life).
So, you may have to check out the available governors and schedulers yourself.
Here is a very good thread about io schedulers and governors => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817
If you don't read it already and want to know more.

What is the optimal governor ?

What is the optimal governor (speed and battery life) for Xperia ? With custom kernel I can use smartass2, minmax, ondemand, etc etc...

I think that you can't really have both because if you want performance you will get a smaller battery life and viceversa. I am using smartassV2 with cfq scheduler nad it's ok.
You might want to read this and see what's best for you

You should have checked this first - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989824
It has a detailed description for many governors and i/o schedulers.

[Q] What's your governor and I/O scheduler?

I'm currently running a custom 4.1.2 ROM, testing a few of the 4.4 ROMS. I play around a lot with CPU control, and curious as to know what your settings are on, and what works best for you? Mine is set at standard Hotplug and sio scheduler, and it works fine, but I feel like it can be smoother, without running the performance Governor.

Right now I'm using Mokee 4.4.2 version with PegasusQ governor and CQF I/O scheduler.

I am using SmartAssv2 and CFQ right now on Mooke 30 jan and still observing the battery usage. to be compared when using interactive and cfq, i found it save battery more (thanks to the latest mokee version perhaps?).

(Discussion) Best governor?

I find many thread say some governor good for battery but wht work best for u guys ?
Here.
Smartmax when coupled with CPUQuiet and Pegasusq with mpdecision. Zzmoove is probably my favorite overall though.

It's a battery saving profile. For gaming, you can set the CPU governor profile to "optimal", set the GPU governor to msm-adreno-tz and if needed increase the CPU Max frequency

Best governor to me is actually conservative. I can maintain performance and get a fluid experience (i dont game) on the UI. Every other governor i tried has micro stutters when scrolling. This one works very well, proably because it does not scale down too fast (which i assume its the cause for scrolling micro stutters). Tried lots of configs and settings on interctive and other governors, but conservative always gives me a more fluid UI
Currently using blu_active from @eng.stk without any lags or stutters.
There's so many to go thru be along time before find a best.
using inyeractive based govs for a while now. have to be tweaked properly though

Zzmove is the real deal on the OPX, incredibly smooth and battery friendly.
