Neo V stuck rootloop, can't access anything... - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

hi all!
after successfully flashing and rooting my neo v i started trying these excellent roms of XDA developers.
so, with locked BL, after installing XPERIA Ultimate HD and Zelly Bean i went for a try on Ice Cream pureness v14.
i guess my mistake was that after a full wipe from CWM i installed the ROM, the neo v patch and the upgrade without any reboot but the last one.
anyway, i am stuck on a bootloop now
can't access CWM (i guess because of system format....(?))
i flashed stock rom with flashtool but still nothing
i am searching for hours to avoid posting such an embarrassing "first post" but i really can't find a solution
thanx in advance!
EDIT : Just managed to recover the phone using Sony Ericsson update service software, turning it back to 4.0.4 stock. So i am going again for root etc. I guess there should be an easier way so if anybody knows it please share.
and if any admin could fix that "rootloop" in the title....
cheers!

Yes, there is an easier way. Unlock your phone bootloader with one of two methods. I would choose testpoint method.
Just some tips: When you flash zip, always do wipe cache/data (don't wipe system like someone does), check that it is for locked bootloader, for Neo V not L or Neo etc. I never had those problems. Anyway, I don't see advantage of those ROMs on locked bootloader except of removing bloatware, which you can do by yourself.
And it is called bootloop not rootloop.

Thanx for tips! I am quite new to all this so I thought unlocked bl would come at the next level. I guess I might go for it sooner.
I know about the rootloop mistake that's why I asked for a correction

Ok, I flashed the .ftf and I was able to get into CWM, but when I go back and download the stable cm9 from Cyangenmod, It shows status 7 when flashing...
every rom I try to flash, I get status 7, I tried edit the "updater-script" and it just show installation aborted right away.

Flash kernel first and then ROM

Let me clarify this to you first,
CM doesn't work on Locked Bootloader.
So if you're having locked bootloader, there is one way to fix this:
Reflash ICS .ftf & do the whole rooting, installing CWM Recovery procedure again. Go to recovery & install the ROM with instructions stated in ROM thread.
If you have unlocked the bootloader, two ways to solve this problem:
1. Flash any other ICS kernel. Go to recovery, wipe everything except SDCard of course xD
Then power off the phone & flash kernel from CM9 zip. Install CM9.
2. If above doesn't fix the problem, reflash the ICS .ftf again. Flash CM9 kernel & install the zip usual way.
Cheers!

I have unlocked my bootloader lol. Finally I got it back to normal now. I flashed the stock ftf, then update it to a newer firmware to root it. Flash CWM, Follow the instruction on how to flash cm10 (I use cm9) and everything is fine now, but I still want to flash other custom rom...

@Gemichi
If your Bootloader unlocked, you dont need install CWM or root your phone...
What you have to do is just flash kernel which have built-in CWM.
I advice you read again how to flash kernel,I see your post you install CWM,from that I know your bootloader NOT unlocked

[Q] What is wrong in Hybrom v12 on my phone ?

Hi, first i want to say sorry about my english level and thanks to people who reads my post.
I try to flash mi xperia mini pro sk17, with ..058 version of firmware, unlocked bootloader, rooted and with CWM.
Will follow the step by step instruction, and after instalation my phone is stuck on Sony Ericsson screen and nothing happens about 10 minutes and after then i remove the battery and try to enter in CWM and again nothing happens.
Does anyone have the same problem and how you resolve it ?
Thanks in advance for people who help me !
Respect for all XDA members !
Occured same problem, flashed my phone back to stock firmware until I find a solution.
Anyone has one?
ok...i will try to explain....I believe you have installed nAa-r2 CWM? It is defective CWM since it is put in system/ section... hybrom rewrites this section, thus, when you start recovery from system/ and try to install ROM, you try to erase CWM from under CWM....just update your FW to .62, install custom kernel you like and then make all wipes and install zip from sd card)

Yeah, I think the best way is to update to .62, then install b kernel (made by bbooff himself - unlock bootloader needed) then load Hybrom, then you can install any other kernel you like. But I have problem with X kernel with Hybrom, first one is bootloo and then draining batterry very fast ^^"

the rom is based on 0.62 Kernel, upgrade first to 0.62 then try flashing again, i dont know if this makes a difference but its worth a try
I solved my problem and installed Hybrom v12 now.
First, indeed, you need to have unlocked bootloader and .62 firmware, I used WotanClient to flash the firmware. Then I got other kernel, I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440161 this one.
Then I entered the Clockworkmod Recovery(press power button one-two times, when the screen goes lighter on turning on). Then I followed the instructions from the Hybrom and successfully installed it.
I got WT19i, but should apply the same.

The main idea is to restore your framework-res.apk. U can use aroma explorer if you have installed CWM from boot. If u havent, u should unlock your bootloader, there are several methods, i would suggest the unofficial through s1 tool with testpoint. Do you have a custom ROM build, or the official that came with your phone?
Take your battery off, start flashtool, put battery back in DO NOT power up.
Connect to pc when flashtool tells you holding back button.

but I don't want to unlock bootloader. so I flashed it completely using flash tool. And had to give-up my all app updates. Now working fine...
Install cwm this time, even if your staying on stock, so that if something like this happens again, atleast it's easier to recover without loosing data.

Go to recovery mode, wipe phone completely ( cache, data, dalvik cache, battery stat if you want to ), then flash your rom. it will be fine
back to cwm again.

Thanks. I just did that. I flashed it but it came back to CWM again.
please help.
after reboot it came back to recovery ? Okay if it so. try these :
1. do as i said earlier + before flashing rom, after wiping phone , go to mounts and storage and formate /system, /data and /cache manually. then flsah rom and reboot.
if this didn't work,
2. then as the first comment on this page says, download ftf file (rom) for your device and flash it via flashtool. all instructions will be given when you'll select to flash ftf . dont worry this will work definitely.
but sorry i haven't asked you earlier, you have locked bootloader or unlocked ? because if you'r using wrong kernel which is not for the rom, you'll get bootloops.if on wrong kernel, try flashing right kernel for your device. good luck

okay but there is one little problem more... the sony original rom is a ftf file so do i need to flash the kernel first using fastboot.... as i intend to use the mesa kernel with it.....

2. select flashmode and then then select the sony ics rom 4.1.b.0.431
3. press the volume down button and flash this rom....
4. power on voila stock rom with custom kernel.....

while flashing the stock ROM (.ftf), make sure you check 'exclude kernel', then proceed. I'm not sure whether this is the right method to flash custom Kernel and Stock ROM, but afaik, it should work.. If you wanna be more sure, then try going through a few tutorials if you find them, or wait for a more experienced member to correct me if I'm wrong.
And also, I'm not sure of how efficiently stock ICS will work with mesa kernel..
Not claiming to be a more experienced user but...
1.) flash stock rom using flash mode
2.) flash kernel using fastboot mode
Ready.
You can not accidentally relock the bootloader by flashing a rom or kernel.
Sent from my phone.
No you will not relock your bootloader. If you Unlocked via the test point method you never need to relock your bootloader, whoever posted the second post needs to reread your question.
Flash using flashtool the ftf, then before you boot up your stock rom, flash MESA kernel via fastboot and flashtool then boot up for the first time. Done.
well i already flashed the rom.... and mind you never flash the kernel and then the rom(ticking xclude kernel) cuz the flashing stucks at 99%....
always flash rom first bootup and then poweroff and then flash kernel.....
also use bloatware remover removes the blotware and makes the stock rom superfast....... loving it......
although i cant seem to figureout on how to use v6 supercharger though....
ANY HELP ON THAT
THANKS AND TON....
and nvr get afraid while rooting u always get something in the last.... even if its a paperweight

You shouldnt have to bootup before flashing the kernel. It has nothing to do with the actual boot aslong as the kernel is correct for the rom you are trying to boot. If you want a fresh install with MESA kernel then you can flash the kernel in fast boot straight after flashing the ftf with flashtool.

Good day guys! I have the same problem. It is actually my first time at this so forgive me. I was trying to install CM 10 on my Neo V. So I went to CWM, wiped data/factory, wiped dalvic-cache then went on to installing the rom. It gave the status 7 error. So I went back to the file to remove the getprop lines. Tried to flash it again, but got another error like this "set_perm: some changes failed". After rebooting, I'm stuck at the "SONY" logo. I can't go to CWM anymore and I can't go to fastboot (pressing volume up + plug usb) too. Is there any way to recover my phone? I'll appreciate any help. Thanks!

Also a clean install is what i'd suggest

Install your Rom
Also ,Fastboot is not accessed by vol up button but Menu button+plug usb

Flash proper kernel and stok

[Q] Hard time flashing ROM (LwW/WT19)

Hi!
I have been a happy owner of a Live With Walkman for over a year now. I had the 4.0.4 update and everything.
Several times i have tried flashing custom ROMS ending with a bootloop, ALWAYS. And when i mean several, it 10+ times i have tried.
I have a locked bootloader with no unlocking option, kernel 1.6.32.9-perf (stock obviously), build number 4.1.B.0.587.
I have always selected ROMS that can be installed in locked bootloaders (like Real ICS) but always ended in a bootloop. Following always the instructions.
Please help me and tell me what i'm doing wrong. Is it the kernel? Maybe a faulty SD Card (wich i really doubt because i can use it without problem)?
And is there any ROM that's been proved that works with locked bootloader, stock kernel always? I prefer a ROM without sony customization. Just plain android ICS. Sorry if this annoys you and probably you'll tell me to search for a ROM and try. The problem is that i don't trust a lot if it says for locked bootloader and i want a ROM that a user can prove that works and how did he installed it.
Thanks a lot!
Sure you've formatted the whole system and data in mount and storage , and cache?
i ever facing this problem when i was first installing cust rom for my xperia mini,
i was forgot to format the system and data which is not required on my prev device (Xperia X8).
I guess this is the error.
U have installed a recovery mode to your device with locked bl. That means u have installed it to the system partition. When u flash a rom, it wipes your system partition. So flashing process may go with errors.( because the needed files are not present in the device anymore) As a result u may end up with a bootloop and u can't even go back to the recovery mode.
unlock bootloader and flash a kernel that have a recovery mode (it's getting installed to your boot partition). so it won't get wiped by a rom flash.

Is there any ROM that haves this method? do you have any links?
There are many roms with option locked bl in Aroma, but I don't know why you are getting this error.
Try to use one of Sandy7's roms, hope things will be okay.
Good luck
Edit reason: fixing mis-spelling.

Hello people,
I havevthe same problem, and would like to add another input:
A cwm backup restore also results on bootloop.
Basically, stock rom is rooted, cwm is installed... But after that no new roms can be flashed.
Tried doing 3 wipes+format/system and just 3 wipes, the result is the same: bootloop with no acess to cwm :|
