Real Android ROM Development - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings to all members of the forum.
I would like to ask the more experienced developers of android custom ROMs - "what do you advise to read on this subject?" I'm a student, I study as the programmer, so that the experience is there, but all the articles describe work with the kitchen. I would like to read something more serious, very interested in this topic (the device on Android, but as such this brand no online, as in this forum, respectively firmware this custom not), would like to try.
I would be very grateful for the links. Please, do not send me in Google. He wouldn't help me.
Sorry, for my English)
P.S. Now downloading the sources from the repository AOSP.
P.P.S. Sorry for doublepost.

Simple informations about Android

Hello my friend,
I'm software developper and cooker on Windows Mobile.
I would like to begin my Android cooking and have reading many tips on XDA, thanks a lot for this.
Nevertheless, i have some little questions....
In order to cook rom for android, it's possible to edit the rom with a kitchen and build a final ZIP rom in order to update with recovery menu.
But, if i want to update the latest android build, what is the way ?
* Need i to download the android source code and buid it ?
* I'm so sorry for this noob question but it's very hard to find "simple" informations about the different way of cooking on android. It will be very nice if anyone could explain the different way of cooking and this amazing os
Thanks a lot my friends,
Regards,
Nixeus

(all above links are in this subforum)
The build of android you cook is determined by the device you own. That's where you need to start.
1. Choose device
2. Look for device on xda forums
3. Look around the device forum you just selected, paying extra attention to the "<device-name> Android Development" subforum
4. Learn
Cooking for android (correctly) isn't learned overnight.
Thanks a lot

Don't be offended... but...
Basic idea of a developer is that he's able to search for his problem and find it's solution.
Let's assume you build AOSP, now, you are facing bugs (which won't be less), now, will you create a thread asking normal users on how to fix that bugs?
If they would have known, they would have made it too.
Likewise, if you are able or keen to develop for device and can't find something by searching (yes, everything is already present on this site, just needs some searching), I assume you'll have problems at each step.
So, first try to search, there are several guides in Android Software Development Section and Android Chef Central.
There is also Compiling from Source Q&A Help Thread to post you problem.
And, one last thing, starting development with a device like Ace S5830i is itself a very difficult task.

What's up, how's Paraná? Greetings from Rio de Janeiro!
You know, you don't become a developer from an hour to another. I'm 16 years old, and i know it's a long way to go to be a developer. I'm learning a lot with all the members of Xda, like iamareebjamal, Sq Matrix and bieltv.3. Xda have tutorials and guides o' plenty for you to learn. So, i'll be waiting for your AOSP build.

[Q] root android

I am triing in rooting few device (lenovo ideatab a1000F, smasung packet neo, vodafone ideos u8150-d. But now, I am getting crazy. I can't find a correct valid guide. I tried kingo, unlock root. IN other site I found seems valid guide, but no link to the rom!
Can someone help me?
I first had a similar impression. If you're not used to the whole android world, it first looks quite confusing. Unclear were to find information, and many are outdated. Discussions and information are mixed in the forums, and most files are released on one-click-hosters.
In the end I found projects like CyanogenMod and OmniRom helpful. Their Wikis are much more clear than the forums to me. Though, once you read some threads on xda, you learn how to extract the important information from there as well.
So don't give up, try to find your way and don't be scared to try things out even if you're not too sure whether it's the right way
thanks

[Q] Hello, I need help

Hello,
I need certain help. I've looked everywhere in order to find those custom ROMs for my tablet 'GoClever Tab R75', but to no avail.
I've found a thread on these forums somewhere, but the guy who replied on the already asked question was Polish and I didn't understand a single thing he wrote. Translation awful, as usual.
He did, however, provide 2 links for some "Softwares" and "Kernels", none of which I understood. I don't know what these Kernels are, provided I'm totally new to this whole rooting thing, nor do I know which "Software" to choose from all of those further links following that very link the Polish guy posted.
I just want to know if there are ANY custom roms for my tablet, because I just won't apply those Softwares or Kernels this guy posted knowing nothing about them and what they are supposed to do. Not that I'm saying that this Polish guy is unscrupulous or anything similar, I'm just saying that I don't understand any of those 'intermixed numbers and letters' in the descriptions of those links he provided.
Thanks in advance.

Can you not google translate on the page that the link takes you to??
Hello, thanks for the quick response.
Sure I can translate, but as I've told you, I'm new to all this rooting stuff and I just don't know what those kernels are of which software to choose.
I could just use someone's help, someone's who's experienced with these things to tell me whether there is a custom ROM for my tablet or not, that's all.
Can you briefly tell me what those kernels are, I'm just curious.
I'll find a way to install it but I just need to know how to find it. (the ROMs)
Anyone?

[Question] Guide for rom compilation.

Can anyone please provide a proper, elaborate guide for compiling roms for miatoll tree? Have time in lockdown and eager to learn the process.
The guides on google are way too generic or backdated. I guess it'll help many people like me if some DEVS took the time to write a guide which shall in turn, in my opinion promote more development.
Come on,some devs got to give something... I know I'm not the only one looking for this.....

Do you think following a "guide for compiling roms" enough to compile roms after roms... it's not so easy. I'm not developer, only was curious to try to build roms for my phone. All information you can find on the internet, just need to search.
If you really want to start and learn, first step is to prepare your PC to android build, ex.:
