Well as you can see most of those people are still with the play. Anyways there was no need for that comment he was just thanking all the devs for their work.
You should also thank cosmic dan. Hes not around anymore but did lots of work for the play and constantly helped out users.

Also most devs appreciate donations but tge work they do is free so why mention money though you are right in the aspect that they can leave whenever they want. But hopefully devs will keep supporting the play for a little longer

Wtf... you clearly ask the devs to keep going and don't give up... and you thanked them...
well.. my point was that... it's not because of thirty thanks in a thread that those dev are developping on the xperia play... unfortunately, it's a dead device... and maybe they will loose their passion to dev on it... so I pointed out the money way... anyway ahah
since I'm realistic and my comment isn't positive, it doesn't fit at all here I guess sorry guys

how can it move faster if its like you said a dead device?
its a bit outdated but x8,x10,mini and others are older, more outdated and with lower specs and are still alive..nobodyatall just release kernel 3.xx for those devices..xplay always have users ,its still a good phone and with special features that no other phone have..for me and many of us its very hard to change..even if many of us already tried..keep coming back to xplay.
until sony releases a xplay 2..im sticking with this amazing phone.
edit:i dont think its money related to developing this..its just some free time and will, just to make it better for all.

Yep you are right, what I'm saying is completely wrong sorry
money is there if there is no passion anymore... there is plenty of better phone so it's completely normal for dev to move on
Anyway, you'll probably wait a lot of time before the next xperia play I guess

The reason i Love the Play the most is because its Comunnity & Its special Features,Everyone here at XDA in the Xperia Play section is Amazing
Big thanks To Everyone!,C:

Maybe in September I could continue to develop.

You forgot one great person, KeiranFTW.
He's most likely helping all old developments of Xperia Play.

You also forogt paxchristos as help helped with the inital port of jellybean and a bunch of stuff for verizon varenits.
Honestly though a thread like this belongs in general section, we work on this when we can, school and part time jobs come first. And family but I still live with mine so thats all the time.

I quote everything in first post and I hope we have a JB rom stable someday. Although even if we get stuck in ICS is fine for me, I keep my Xperia Play
Sente from my Xperia Play using the only bug-free and stable ICS ROM available: Hybrid ROM by Krisdee

I'm not completely gone, just swamped with the new company (getting paid for Android development takes priority over XDA, sorry but that's life)
Though I don't plan on getting back into the Xperia Play. Without any decent ICS+ support and the poor hardware by today's standards, I don't see the point.
I highly recommend the new Xtreamer flagship model "JoyZ"; our own Deck OS designed ROM with the same SoC as an SGS3 but at 299 euros - and outperforms it in most ways, thanks to my (and another fellow Aussie's) work

It runs MIUI right?
Very expected of CosmicDan.
Edit :
Also I read it uses Exynos (Samsung CPU). But only Samsung has sources so this phone lacks USB OTG (and a couple of other less minor stuff) support right?

Are there any des working on this phone other than the few who are shaving over the 2-3 roms we have here in the development section?
My last phone was a nexus s (very used to variety and activity. And aokp) and these forums are disturbingly quiet, as are all the other ones i can find. Makes me wonder if i should find a trade on an international version, but this one looks so much better!
Thoughts? am i simply missing something?
Just relax, it will pick up, like always.

The note is a great platform in a great series of devices. Devs will not let it go untouched.
Would you rather have some cook bustout a rom he just copy pasted together from some source code he got from a Google search and it be filled with bugs and FCs or have a high quality rom that devs with talent have been working day and night in their spare time (for free) to build?
Long story short: get the note and breath lol

You should have bought a Google Nexus if you wanted the same kind of dev support a Nexus developer device brings.

Lets be honest...
If you want a device w/ an overactive dev community... HD2... that forum seems to STILL be rocking.
The Evo3d also has a pretty active community.
NO samusung device starts off w/ a super exciting community. They build slowly it seems. But i imagine it will pick up.
I never got it why people are so obsessed with flashing roms every 12 hours...

I'm with you, i have no time limit. There are times where I went months on a rom, but other times that I was flashing numerous roms just to see how they differed. I have so many android devices in my house that there's always something to play with. We are up to 3 nook colors, so I'm able to flash a phire to one, kanged to one, and good ol CM to one just to play with them side by side. Flashing roms is just fun to some and approached with a "why the hell not?" attitude rather then "ok i think im sure i want this one, i've ready all 8,532 comments on the thread...i think im ready", which is of course how i started this addiction.

also I noticed that the developers here are working much harder..1 its a new device...there's not much to go on when there limited to options.....once they establish the tools they need for more efficient roms and kernels will begin.....plus I noticed a lot of newer people here that this is there first android device......developers work very hard for there non profit work...countless hours of work to what?....get a thanks if that maybe?.....people need to donate more to the developers for there time in giving us the themes and roms and kernels we need to make our device fast and stable.....I noticed and spoke with a few and mentioned not many of them are even getting donations......don't you think that would push or motivate someone to help the community?....if I wasn't getting anyrhing for 100 + hours...me personally would keep my findings to my self if I'm not appreciated...they don't have to share there knowledge ! they do it because there nice ...

[APPEAL] Raise your voice to get a fully working ICS

We are lucky enough to have a wonderful dev who provides us with ALMOST perfect ICS ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365683
What holds us back from having it REALLY perfect is a lack of arm6 drivers.
That´s why people already have raised their voices in these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551784
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553673
In the meantine, there appeared this initiative, which seems to be growing
VERY FAST.
Would you be the next one to support it?
http://www.groubal.com/ics-drivers-compiled-for-armv6-from-qualcomm/
More info about it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24016074&postcount=43
Spread the word any way you can think of!
... and please don´t spam the groubal!
done
I added my comments in that DevForum
" This request has been brought to the attention of the appropriate people. As with the previous request, I can't say if or when this might actually happen. Thanks! "
come on, something is moving!
Done! Let's keep it going!
done i hope that something will happen
done , let's push it
Signed the groubal but it won't let me post on the qualcomm dev page, it only lets me register
yes.going to do it
right away done
OK, we`re moving quite fast.
But more interestingly, we got response!

It`s only a word from a guy who monitors forums, he only asked us for patience, because the decision-making will take place somewhere else. You see, IF they decide to release it, they won`t pull it out of the pocket, somebody who is paid for his work would have to work on it, their devs are not hobbiests like here on xda.
So IF they decide positively, it will take some time. In case of arm7 it was like 3 months. Whish I was wrong.
is their any positive reply from qualcomm side ???

It has been tested with the CAF release M8960AAAAANLYA1030. Supports any Adreno 2xx GPU on Android ICS using the ARMv6 chipset (7x27). Google's libRS (LLVM) does not currently support ARMv6.

I don't really get why people keep saying that ICS on Neo/V is a complete failure, I mean, so far I haven't had a single problem with it (I've used stock/CM9/AOKP and currently using JJDoctor's Hybrid which is based on stock).
No offense but I think most people don't even try to make their phone better in any way, just wanting a one click "give me everything and then some" solution, which of course won't really help much, if at all.
I currently run my Neo underclocked (268 - 800 Mhz) and everything is silky smooth, but I think the most vital change that people should do is lose the Sony crap (launcher, music, sms app), I've been using Sony phones since 2010 (X10 Mini > X10 > Neo and a friend's Play) and so far I haven't had a single complaint, mind you my phone is also used by my girlfriend, parents, brother, etc. I also used a Galaxy Ace for a few months and that REALLY was a piece of ****, it rebooted about 4 times a day on stock Samsung ROM.
Before saying something as violent as that, you should invest more time actually TRYING to make your phone better (god knows I've seen a lot of init.d scripts).
Also, most optimizations are almost universal to Android, most init.d scripts present on the ROMs you mentioned have been working since FroYo, others are standard Linux optimizations that would work exactly the same on Jellybean.
Last but not least, the differences between ICS and Jellybean are performance based, so Jellybean could actually run better on our phones that ICS.
I know this sounds like trolling but people, please read some more before commenting!!

I highly doubt it, but that's why XDA exists!
That triple buffered 60fps interface looks cool but i doubt our devices have enough ram to handle it.

C'mon Man, 512MB Ram is not any less to handle 60fps, compare it with Apple 4 or any reasonable Windows Phone. when they create a code for smooth graphics, why do Android required more Ram ?
Should i remind you guys that even the Nexus S is getting JB? It has basically the same specs as the Neo, but on a more dated SoC.

Well, I only had the Ace for 2 months and my experience was goddamn awful, maybe if I had it for more time it would've been better.

When it comes to OS updates specs don't really matter to manufacturers, what matters is making a lot of money, also most system updates are held back by carriers, not manufacturers.
There's a pretty knowledgeable account of this here and in the comments.
Biggest question is:
Comes it official to our Neo/Neo V??

Indeed, but i was talking about the people saying that the hardware won't withstand the update.

If you look at recent history, SE abandoned the X10 on Eclair until user feedback was bad enough to force them to do the GB update, so it's not that far-fetched to think that Sony will abandon the Xperia 2011 line claiming something about hardware compatibility or some other insane ass thing in order not to update.
Hopefully our extremely knowledgeable devs will find a way to port it to our devices, who knows, maybe some sort of CM10 or AOKP port.
why posting this if Sony not releasing it for us Xperia Neo and Neo V users.

Why is hardly any new roms for GS3?

Hi, I have a GS1, GS2 (hardly mine but still) and a GS3. For GS1 there is an abundance of ROMS, kernels etc. İn a couple of days after a new Android version gets released lots of ROMS become available. When it comes to GS2 and GS3 though, there are hardly any choices. For example, at the moment there are about 10 4.2.1 ROMs just in the first page of I9000 development. There is none for the others.
What is the reason for this even though the other two have much higher userbases? Just curious. Happy holidays.
GS 1 needs development GS3 does not so much .
There are only so many variations on themed roms .
Its a devs choice what to build and if you are lucky to share with XDA users .
A fair number no longer post on XDA as they are fed up with idiotic questions .
You can speed the process up by donating a SGS3 to a dev .

Is that idiotic questions part for me? It is hardly an idiotic question. With a little overclock I can get more performance out of my GS1 than GS3, the stock performance is really low. I've seen lots of comments how it takes too long to open the phone and contacts apps etc. It is not like I'm angry for no development. It is a simple question.
I've been donating money to everyone who helped me. Thank you.

Like the person above you said there are only so many variation in themes for a rom.. Plus GS3 is fast as it is so making a rooted custom rom is for apps and themes.. Also for those apps that need root.. Anyway he is also right dev's deffo get fedup after a while due to the same question asked so many times. They make FAQ's but that still results in so many same questions..

Did i say your question was idiotic ???
I merely stated that due to idiotic posters a number of devs no longer put stuff on XDA .
Like those that don't read the instructions and continually ask for updates or fail to understand what was written .
Do you misunderstand what XDA Developers forum is >> Most definitely you do .

Maybe you should stop being a whatever you were writing. I've never criticised anyone for not developing, I've kindly asked is there a technical reason for this. If you don't have an answer you can shut up and get out of here.

I've misunderstood your post, sorry about that. You've suggested me to donate a SGS3 and obviously it is hardly possible for anyone, so I've assumed you were angry for this post.
I've simply asked a question is there a technical reason for the thing I've described above, I don't care whether everyone develops for GS3 or nobody.
Anyway, again I am sorry for that misunderstanding.

You may have answered the question yourself. Userbase is bound to be higher, hence more custom roms.
GS1 has been out for nearly three years. GS3 about half a year.
I didn't have a very close look, but the 10 4.2.1 roms you mention are probably all CM kangs.
Number of JB 4.2 ROMs shouldn't really matter, as they will probably be quite similar in the general functions they offer. Will all of those 10 JB 4.2 ROMs be so unique from each other that they look like HTC vs Samsung for example? I wouldn't think so. Not downtalking the importance of developers or anything but you can customise the ROMs to your taste using the mods and apps in the Themes & Apps section if you want diversification.

[REQUEST][PLEASE]Convincing @corsicanu to continue AryaMod Note7 Port V2.1 dev for A5

@corsicanu suddenly stops developing of the AOD included AryaMod Note7 Port ROM because of some complaining people who can't wait some hours and keep nagging.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/development/rom-aryamod-note7-port-v2-1-t3536186
Please, for the people it matters, convince him to continue developing!
He's not lazy to update his ROM and work out solving bugs, he always help!
The ROM is full of great Note 7 functions and he's trying to make it possible and create a bugless ROM, which is STABLE as now!!
Please, XDA members, convince him to come back and resume this great ROM!!!
Well, i dont blame him, not at all.
I myself am no dev, though have learned a lot here through reading, and that is exactly what people ARE NOT DOING, reading. Especially the A Series has a lot of members that dont bother thinking, it takes more time to ask a question rather then just have a search and see if people have asked something similar to you.
Long story short, a lot of members have 0 knowledge, 0 tolerance and 0 patience, but have HIGH expectations. This place is for twiddlers, not for people who want something changed and then disappear.
Remember, people do this for free, 100% out of pure will. Some may see it as a challenge, and some want to help. Even the one who may want donations, 95% of the A Series users are from developing countries, so most of the users here cannot afford to donate, and donations are very important if you want people like corsicanu around.
Me too he has real proplems in real life so he works in free time but everyone is asking for ETAs but he not A ROBOT see this different!!!!!!
@PlutoDelic, @huseein A5 that's known, The thing is, there are people who shouldn't be allowed to post or reply. That's all. He was working on the ROM for free, in freetime. Because of the freshly registered bastards who come here straight after buy their first Samsung phones.

I guess, in this case it wasn't because of time. Because of the users. However, it's well known that developing is a really long process and takes time.
But I wish he could send the deleted link to download the latest version or don't you have it @huseein A5? I was downloading the root files when he deleted them and closed the tread.
I'm truly disappointed @corsicanu!

Do not install or use anything from hussein as he kang my work MANY TIMES. It's only my choice to retract all the files since i worked for nothing. And no, i don't want donations. I did all the things because i wanted to make the difference but like i said earlier, this community doesn't deserve anything. Like my friend said in the second post, most of the users have small amount of knowledge and big amount of disrespect and requests. I made the most stable rom in this subforum and the only thing that i got were requests of N7 camera and Google assistant. If that so, thanks but no thanks.
Just my 2 cents.

I can't even imagine how Google assistant COULD take place in a Marshmallow Touchwiz ROM and of course you're not expected to do the impossible, LOL.
Has anybody seen Assistant in ANY TW-based ROM? Miserable.
On the other hand, yeah, I was thinking about if he might modified some files in it and anyway he couldn't upload and re-use it without your permission.
But you didn't work for nothing. See, loads of us were testing and reporting bugs and the team work was complete.
But the whole thing is over because of some users, who can't see a difference between F and H...
Hope you give us one more chance.
