[Q] android 4.2.2 developer mode - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have a Nexus 4 and I activated developer mode by typing 7 times on the build number. Is there any way I can disable developer mode so I will not be a developer anymore? I switch off in the developer options but I was wondering if I can remove that from settings for good and to not be registered as a developer anymore.
Please if you know how , reply!

Why do you want to turn it off? There's really no point to that.

Doesn't affect anything? Like upgrade to newer built or something? My phone isn't rooted that is why i wanted to turn off, is there a way?

It affects literally nothing. Don't turn it off, some of the features in there are useful. If you want to make your phone feel faster for example, just turn all of the animations to 0.5x.

It affects security. Anybody who has the phone will be able to run commands on it through adb.

No it doesn't. You have to have adb enabled for that to work. Just having it present in the options is safe.

Just say: "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT!"
Poster don't want to know how this mode is good and what he lost if this mode will be turned off.
It's not so hard for undrstanding. If You know - explain how to do that, no - shut up, please.

Software

Does anyone know of a phone profile software, whereby the phone can be switched offline and switched back online WITHOUT having to constantly enter the PIN number.

Just go into the comm manager and set it to Airplane mode, and you'll switch it offline.

If the PIN is the security pin for the phone, then my understanding is that it will always be required when you switch the phone on. You could of course disable the Pin. Do you need to go offline or can yoiu just go on to silent - there a re a few profiles ssystems that allow you to go to slient mode but I find it easier simply to turn the volume down!
Looking for a software, where I do not have to input phone pin everytime.

Why do you need a separate software? When you dont want to enter PIN, just disable it!

Do do what? If you don't want the PIN then, as others have said, dissable it.
Or do you want some software that can magically detect when it is you using the phone and not ask for the PIN when it's you but only ask for it when it's someone else?

Now there's a thought....
OK, OK. I also have an N95 and when I go offline and return to online, there is no need to to enter a pin. Pin is only entered at the on off stage or when I re-boot the phone. Its handy to do this without disabling the PIN. From the smart-alec type respones, I gather there is no such software.

Auto-on/off "scheduler"?

Anyone know of an app that will turn the device's power on/off at set times -- like a Blackberry can do? Thanks.
Id like this as well.

Off should easily be done with Tasker. On, however, probably isn't possible on our phones. I could certainly be wrong, however.

[Q] power.saving.mode

im trying to disable forever that annoying Power saver mode that disables mobile internet when screen off in htc phones(not only the notification).
By now, i figured out it has something to do with power.saving.mode, but i cant find a detailed explanation on the forums, and testing on it didnt have significant changes.
Can someone help me please? Google also cant find a detailed explanation on this matter, only different settings.
pd: i dont mean disabling it in settings menu, because it activates itself again.
I´ve read that in some devices, service menu gives the option to disable some sort of power saving mode, but in this model codes wont work (*#*#4636#*#* wont give that option)

power.saving.mode
first of all, thanks for answering.
If i do so, the whole energy option dissapears...is it possible to do so without sacrificing the whole thing?.
maybe it would be easier to customize it, i mean, set it to launch at 5% instead of 14%, but i have to look how as i dont have a clue to do so, or even if its possible.
and finally, i dont know if im saying this correctly, Eid Mubarak to you and your family!

that is strange, maybe try wiping all data from the phone in recovery with a factory reset and try again

really want to avoid that… ill ring samsung today and see if they can help… ugh hope they are competent and don't waste more of my time!
They wont advise turning on usb debugging
ha! they went a step further to dismiss the option even exists… ugh.. should have stuck with apple, major problems if a consumer that has had an android device for 2 weeks and knows more about it than the 'Samsung Expert'
Called them on the phone too, said it was working and he had no idea why it wasn't on mine. that was literally it…

I just had the same issue.
Turns out the problem is having a Knox container - USB debugging was permanently disabled until I removed MyKnox from my phone, so it would appear the two are mutually exclusive.

Reset my device, which allowed me to switch on USB debugging, but noticed I lost it shortly after setting up Knox again. Removing it brought it back, so I guess that this is working as designed.

ahh ok.. funnily enough there was a guy working for samsung in an EE shop (oxford street, london) and he was super puzzled. he was showing me on his demo phones (which he explained about 15 times that it was a fake phone and not a real one, took me about 20mins to figure out what he was saying. its basically a phone without the calling features..).
Forget Password
Hi guys, it is possible to turn on debugging mode if the phone is blocked? i need some audio records from my s6 edge but i forget my password. and i don't want to do the hard reset because i really need the files... or if y do hard reset if i use dr.fone or something else it is a way to recover the deleted files?

All notifications will not turn off for sure.
Some of them can be turned off by disabling the services that send them.
