You might also want to check out GMD Spen Control, it brings a lot of the Spen features to AOSP. It can launch any app when you pull out the Spen among many other things.

see. still unanswered
paranoid rom uses CM9 as a base
So this means that you will have to find out how to add ringtones to a contact in cm9
You could ask in CM9 thread.
I am using sammy rom now so i cant help you. Sorry
Oh really...? Why won't you ask it in the PA thread? If you really want to ask it here, please, go to Q&A section!

ooh really? sorry guys. im new here pls accept my apology. but already got the solution from a friend.
i use a Ringo Lite app from Google Play. thanks a lot! sorry again.
I think there is a option for that in the people.apk when you edit a contact I can check and see
Edit: If you choose your contact and open it as normal so you see all the phone numbers and so on, press the menu button and there is an option there called "Set Ringtone" no need for a third party app

ALL [MOD] threads need to be in themes and apps except...

Please post MODS in themes and apps unless the code is provided to bake into a ROM or modify an app, for example adding 4 in 1 boot menu, modifying mms app to send more than 10 group recipients...real development. Changing bootanis, sounds, colors, etc and any flashable mods belong in themes and apps.

Google Keyboard

Some of you may or may not know, but Google released their own keyboard app for Android users to download:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin
Think it'll be something we'll start seeing in AOSP ROMs instead of the other keyboard that's comes with AOSP ROMs? Since this is an official release from Google and stuff.

Looks and feel like the AOSP keyboard except for the fact that this is officially supported by Google, which means updates by them and possibly new features down the line.
I prefer AOSP for things like the keyboard. Using it right now and I really like it so far, my accuracy seems very good and everything just flows. Plus I look forwards to the updates and support!
I really like that they added the long press duration option so desperately needed on keyboards like swype, but I wish they would give us the option of having symbols over the keys which would make the long press option more effective. Still, is pretty good!

Could you elaborate a little? Because I think what you're referring to is available, just long press the period and you'll have a list of symbols. And for letter symbols like á just long press the letter a.
I love aosp ROM's but Samsung is the only one that has swipe on their one handed keyboard.

I think I understand what you're saying... kind of like the swiftkey style keyboard? I reall like that option. Another option I would like to see would be resizable keys as you see in swiftkey.

I mean having the symbols displayed on the letter keys such that when you long press a letter, it's secondary function is to input the symbol displayed as the keys superscript. For example on Swype and SwiftKey you have 'a' and its superscript is the '@' symbol. When you press a, it inputs a and when you long press a, it inputs @.

It can get confusing and it'll get confusing once I dive into why it's confusing. Plus this wouldn't go in general anyways It would go into Version Samsung Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps section or just delete it. Or we can ask a moderator for assistance with the issue.

If you like the look and feel of a stock android keyboard, then yes.
Is there a way to have the keyboard not showing that ugly blank writing box when on landscape mode?
This keyboard is superb, if it wasn't for that minor gripe.

S Memo ported

No idea who ported it. It's the note app from the Galaxy Note. Good app. More responsive than the sketch app from Sony.
http://www.modmydroid.net/s-memo-ported-devices/#
BTW. Which note app for pen notes are you guys using?

WAIT WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I am using Note Anytime.
EDIT: It's from the S3 and later. It is the stripped down version of S-Note - which is from the SGN
Papyrus seems cool. Just discovered that app via this website http://xperiazultra.weebly.com/
Crap, what's this thread doing in the development forum. LoL, sorry must have made a mistake. Can a mod move this to the app forum. Thanks.
Freenote is better ,,,,much more fast and clean than papyrus,,, and SNote,,, cant believen anyone's even trying to use this most bloated lag fest of touchwiz,,
The link is dead. Is there any other place to download ported S Memo? Thanks in advance.

Don't know when the last time you used touchwiz but as far as companies custom versions of android goes Samsung and Touchwiz is not "laggy", now if you are talking about bloat, I don't consider a actual app made by the manufacturer as part of the stock firmware and incorporated into the UI as "bloat", just as I don't consider the "small apps" in Sony's Stock firmware as bloat. Bloat is an app made by another company that's not part of the actual stock firmware such as all the apps loaded on by Verizon, At&t, etc.... SMemo is a really useful app that is VERY friendly with ram use and system resources.
