My Samsung Galaxy S3 won't auto update my apps - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

EDIT- IT WORKS NOW I HAD TO FACTORY RESET MY PHONE.
I've recently noticed that my phone is not auto-updating and notifying me when there is an update, even thought I have set it to auto-update and ticked the notification box. I found out I had updates when I clicked "My Apps" in play store I had several updates just waiting to be updated which were 2 or 3 days old. So I ended up updating them manually, I also found out that it only updates my apps automatically when i restart my phone. I've tried searching this(tried it in google as well) but no luck. Can someone please help me as I don't want to check for my apps regularly or restart my phone.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Samsung Apps Update !!! 07/07/11

Any one getting samsung apps update on their phone
when i try installing it.. fails.. any suggestions..i tried clearing cache and deleteing data and also unistalling previous updates.. still no go
What kind of updates ? Are you referring to the Samsung Apps aplication or to a certain app inside the Samsung Apps ? I updated my Samsung Apps with no problems first time when i logged into it when i bought the phone.
Edit: Yeah, i got it just now. From 2.5.039, i updated to 2.6.018 with no problems. Downloaded the 3.9 MB and installed it easily.
Samsung Apps Aplication.. When i start it it downloads UNAService Update but fails to install it
I am on VR 1.4 rom

Yeah, first you get UNAService.Worked for me, i'm on Vodafone branded KE5, no root. Try through wi-fi or through phone's data connection if you tried through wi-fi already.
Might be affected by custom rom or root.
I have rooted GS2 with Lite'ning ROM and mine failed on the UNAService just now. I will try via wifi at home later.
tried on wifi ..didnt work..will try on data now..could be due to custom rom ??
Hmm, might be cause of a process you froze ? Looks like that UNAS thing updated com.sec.android.app.samsung.
everything defrost..tried on wifi/data..still no g0
I had that problem and to do the update I did the following:
1 - made the update and Samsung apps updated without problems but UNAService failed to install
2 - made a backup of com.sec.android.app.samsungapps.una with Titanium backup
3 - deleted the file com.sec.android.app.samsungapps.una with Titanium backup
4 - restarted Samsung apps, and its working fine and updated to latest version
I hope it helps.
Hi after delete file using titanium backup samsung apps work but dont want to update :/ can you paste here your una file ? I have una 2.0.9
I thought they updated these through the roms only. Who uses the crap anyways.
I have the same problema on VR 2.0
i have found out through testing that this problem occurs when using custom roms.. using stock + root has no problems..
samsung apps comes handy when samsung releases firmwares for cameras, etc or minor updates..also some premium/paid apps are at times available for free ..so i wudnt say its that much of a crap..
UNAService not installing on S2 GT-I9100
Hi guys,
I've just purchased the Samsung S ii (i9100) and I'm trying to open Samsung Apps. Just to make things clear, I have the manufactures ROM without root.
Upon opening Samsung Apps, it tries to update (version on the phone is 2.5.024). It firstly downloads the UNAService and tries to install. It then complains "Application not installed". I press done and it downloads and installs the "Samsung Apps" update "successfully" (to 2.6.114).
Now when I open "Samsung Apps" it says it needs to update. So i press of and for a split second it starts the UNAService download then it all shuts and I'm back at my home screen. Nothing I can do...
If anyone can help me as to why this isn't working on a stock S2 without root... Seems like it should be the most likely scenario for manufacturers software...
Thanks in advance for any info

Samsung Galaxy S3 resetting

Good afternoon all,
I have recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S3 via kies to Android 4.3. I couldn't do the update over the air as it was rooted. I had to go through and root my phone again through Odin and again all that went fine.
However since doing this I have had to restore my device 2 times as it shuts down every now and then and I find I 'lose' some apps...mainly games, which I find annoying. It also wipes any saved text messages.
At first I thought it was only losing apps that I'd downloaded through other means (i.e. not Play) but it appears not. I still have the apk files stored on the phone and have tried to re-install them but I get a message of 'app not installed'
Can anyone tell me why this is the case? As I have previously said it has only been since updating to Android 4.3. Not sure if it is due to rooting my phone (i'm guessing not).
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Chris

See multiple posts re OTA and root problems.
Suggest factory reset if that does not fix then flash stock 4.3 through Odin .
I know that I can't do OTA updates... My problem is that the phone will restart, without warning and when it reboots I have lost all my text messages and a few apps. Trying to reinstall the apk files gives me the error 'app not installed'
I have tried factory reset both through the recovery mode and the system settings, but nothing resolves it.
My phone is rooted and runs Android 4.3 which was updated through kies.
The apps it loses are games so that's not a major issue... It's all the text messages.
I have a very similar problem, phone always shuts down and restarts on it's own. A couple of times it has lost some apps but usually it just starts up again fine but it's very annoying. Sometimes it gets stuck in a boot loop too.
A Google search for random reboot or random shut down brings up a lot of results but no solution's, so it seems to be a common problem. It's not just the stock rom either as it still does it when rooted and running other roms.

Trouble with Galaxy S4 i9500

Hello.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500. I got it about 2 years ago. About a year after purchase I rooted the phone to install a backup software, but I did not know that rooting would disable software updates and when I found out that S4 had gotten the Lolipop update but my phone wouldn't show anything for two months, I decided to install the "original" Lolipop from Samsung. I found it on a website which I do not remember anymore.
Well here's where the problem starts - Apparently my phone was from Korea and it was imported to India. As a result of me installing an OS made for India on a Korean phone, the SIM wouldn't work and the OS ran very crappily. I got the SIM unlocked by an operator but the OS just sucks really bad. It gets stuck very often, apps close randomly and they behave as if they have been relaunched every 5-10 mins. Sometimes if I'm playing music the player will stop mid-track and I have to press play again. The menu and homescreen also do the same thing, keep behaving as if they have been relaunched every few minutes or every time I unlock the screen.
Any idea what I can do to fix my phone? I'm ready to go back to a previous version of android if that means a smooth, non-annoying experience.
Check your actual version of the stock rom from sammobile.com. Download the correct stock rom and re flash through Odin
Thanks, but I just ended up installing CyanogenMod and gotta say I'm more than happy with it :3

Downloading 'Samsung Gear Apps'? (Rooted Phone problems)

Hi guys, I just bought a T-Mobile Samsung Gear S from a friend. My T-Mobile phone is rooted with AllianceRom. When I tried to activate "Use Remote Connection" it would tell me to sign in to my Samsung account. I pressed "ok". Nothing happened. I figured it was because I didn't have the Samsung Account apk installed (upon installing the rom it removed all Samsung stuff). Now that I got that figured out, I press "Samsung Gear Apps" and nothing happens. I went into my old apks but could find nothing that said Samsung Apps or anything like that. Does anyone know what apk I would need to install on my phone in order to get it working and start downloading apps to my watch?
Thanks in advance ?
Update: I figured it out yesterday. I went to the official Samsung site and downloaded the "Galaxy Apps" app and after that I have been able to download apps just fine ever since

Need help with my Galaxy S10+ (AT&T SM-G975U)

Recently, I had to install the United States Android system ROM (unlocked) in order to unbrick my phone. However, I am now unable to update my phone. The AT&T apps still work. Also, my phone will just randomly freeze and restart. Sometimes, apps will stop working and constantly crash and I will have to restart my phone. How do I install the factory version of my phone's software so I can download updates?
