Please rate my review of the Htc One - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hey guys, this is my first full review, and I know its a long review, but I just wanted to try making a full review. I am only 14, but I want to start making reviews on all the phones I get(I usually buy the newest phones), so yea tell me what you think. Please criticize because I need to see what I should do in the future. Also please tell me what I should add or take out. Thanks

Honestly man, it was difficult to watch. You speak too slowly, there is zero humor or entertainment for that matter, and a script would have helped it dramatically. I couldn't bear to watch the entire thing without wanting to rip my hair out. There is literally nothing about your review that would make me want to watch it over the myriad of other reviews out there. And 20 minutes is way too long when there isn't anything in the video to keep people's attention. It came across as a "hey, lets make a review video today" video and not something that had any degree of planning. I'm not trying to knock you, just provide some constructive criticism. I know reviews are hard to do, and even harder to keep people's attention while doing them. Just keep at it, and plan it out better next time.
Also, skrillex man? That's a BIG no no.

Short and sweet is the way to go and a better camera

Any nifty ideas with dual lenses? I'll start.

I came across an article about the Panasonic DMC-3D1. The lenses will have independent zooms so you can take a group and portrait shot at the same time as an example.
The stuff mentioned in the article that could be done with dual lenses I think is a great idea and I wondered what other great ideas are out there that people have seen. Maybe a developer will see one of these ideas and think it's easy enough to implement and make happen on our phones.
I also saw a video some time ago about looking around objects by using two cameras. Not sure if it can be done with the orientation of the EVO 3D cameras, but just throwing out ideas.
That is a great idea! I want that feature. I wish I could mod but all I do is break and brick.

[Q] Rezound Endeavors.

I'm moderately new to the XDA world and I have a few questions that I decided to ask in my own thread, as to follow rules of courtesy: Does anyone know the expected release date of Joelz's latest ROM? I believe it is supposed to be Charmander? Secondly, does anyone know if developers will be able to replicate "Google Now" from Jelly Bean and incorporate it future ROMs (I imagine that it isn't beyond the capabilities of the Rezound)? Finally, will the Rezound be able to realize "Near-Beam" technology to transfer data?
First rule of XDA don't ask for ETA's on ROMs, they get released when they get released and its considered bad etiquette to ask.
Devs are already working on Google Now and again refer to the first rule as to if and when it will be ready.
Near beam needs an NFC chip which the Rezound does not have so no you will not see it here any time soon.
Joelz is on hiatus, so no eta in the near future. Believe me, you will hear about it if/when he returns to developing. I have no answers for your other 2 questions. Enjoy XDA.

Didn't the xda community donate that rezound to him? I think he should donate that rezound to another dev instead of selling it for profit.

Nothing. Just makes me lose more respect if that is possible. All that time he kept telling us to donate rezounds to team bamf and then he goes around and instead of doing so himself, sells the rezound to cushion his own pocket.

I used to be such a crackflasher back in the inc days when development was booming
But now I couldn't care less, I tried the gnex to see if that would bring it back but there's no excitement in that forum. this phone has so much potential, but no one wants to step up to the plate and bring out the beast in this phone
I pretty much just gave up on it.

Who cares if he sells it? He worked hard on alot of roms while he had it. There are many great roms that hes released, that im sure alot of you have used. He deserves the money. Let him do what he wants. I don't blame him and everyone else for leaving, I would too if I could afford a full price phone. Just needed to get that out.

I would hardly call the nexus a piece of crap phone I honestly wish I never sold it and kept it. And on the second topic I believe he met his quota and when you donate something that doesn't mean you or anybody else has any say in what is done with it. It's a donation which is from the kindness of the hearts of the users. Yes it is expected that they do some work (which he did) but that doesn't mean they have to do anything with it. It's not a loan it's a donation.

You miss my point entirely.
Look at it this way. I ask you to donate to charity XYZ. I keep asking you to donate to them, talk about how awesome they are, etc. You donate and make cut backs toake the donations. The kicker is when it comes time for me to donate what they need, I dont. I use that money for myself and what I want and forget the charity. That'd make you happy right? I talk you into doing it but I won't even think twice about it.
Someone spends the telling us to donate to a certain dev team, but when it comes time for him too, he doesn't.
Two sided.
Had he never asked like crazy for this to happen, honestly wouldn't have cared...

I liked your opinions, they were helpful. The only critcism I would say is your camera angle and view. Maybe you should have a brief into looking at you, then after your intro flip your angle to the phone and show demo's of features of what you like on the phone itself. Typically when I watch reviews I want to see the product. Just waving it around didnt do it for me, but I liked your thoughts and opinions.

I really like this review and I didn't mind that you added the bit about you being a blue collar worker and you wanted to look at the phone with a bit of that perspective. I thought that was a good addition to add. The only thing was a lot of "umm" here and there when you were trying to get a point across. I like that it had a more informal style and it sounded like it really came straight from what you were thinking there and not scripted and very formal. But becoming more confident and getting over the nervousness will really make it a lot better because when your nervous and using "umm" a lot, it makes it sound like you aren't too sure of yourself. I liked the video and subscribed because I think you got potential and I liked the style. Hopefully you'll do some more reviews of stuff and maybe even go over individual features you like about the One. Would be a good way to get more practice. Keep up the good work dude!

Heres a few tips.
You tried to give the viewer a diffrent real world perspective from your point of view.
1. You mention blue collar and im a welder etc.
Suggestion. How the htc one holds up well on the job. Beign a welder myself battery life etc etc is very important. And you can site more examples like importance of it in remote locations etc. Where my job takes me etc a Real world outdoor experiance with the htc one.
People dont need to hear/know blue collar etc. And office job etc.
What you can do is spin it in that sense. Not only like does it connect the user with a scenario but it highlights the devices strengths.
2. The method your speaking etc is just like the way you'd speak to a friend. You can use this style just need to refine it more.
Ill keep pondering and update.

If anyone else with a different history had posted this, would you guys have still raked them over the coals? The topic interests me. It seems like most of you are letting your dislike for the OP cloud your judgement. It's a valid thread.
Personally, I don't use battery saver mode and I get through a day just fine. I have been tempted to try it out, though, just to see what difference it makes. Can anyone tell me what affect it has on performance? Do you still receive emails right away when it's on?
One of the things I like about the HTC One is how buttery smooth it is and I'd hate to sacrifice performance for battery life.
Quit picking on the kid! Really folks, this forum is really quite boring due to the fact that HTC did such a wonderful job on this phone. There's just not much to improve upon on which is OK for me! Time for a new hobby...
