Sk17i SYM button + MIUI - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi all, in about 2 years i've tried 3 MIUI roms, now i want to ask you all a question:
is there a MIUI rom where the FU**ING sym button works on the hardware keyboard of the SK17i??? god i love MIUI but sym button and dictionary suggestions never works on sk17i, starting to hate this thing, i don't know anything about developement but at this point i think there'll NEVER be fixed, am i right?

Hmmm.... ExMiUi by Expeacer....

currently i'm on it, sym button not working, also, virtual keyboard doesn't popup at all (with slide closed)

original still available but not on the latest version....you can find it HERE....
use v2.9.29 or v2.10.12...i prefer v2.9.29 cause it the most stable version...

can't find link to previous versions, the lastest doesn't boot at all...
5 different miui roms, none with working sym button, i've tried even changing kernel (from rage to kernelpanic)
i guess i'll just give up.... the thing that bugs me it's that "everything works!!" in those rom topics....

When I do a proximity test in *#0*# my proximity sensor turns on (goes red) and works perfectly.
But when I do a call it doesn't work... Not even turns on.
Is there any settings to enable it or is it related to something different?

Thanks

[Q] On-Screen buttons on ginger bread?

Hey guys,
I've been using different ICS roms on my xepria x10 with the On-screen button patch provided here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29816033&postcount=372
I was wondering if someone knows how to use these on a gingerbread Rom, I've tried the button saviour app but I wasn't satisfied. ICS Roms are too unstable for daily use. I am going to install this Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1829595.
Please if someone has been successful to use the buttons on GB based Rom than help me out.
Bump!

Did you install the correct version of the firmware for your device? If you have a physical home button you need to install the International version. If you have a capacitive home button you need to install the USA version.

Well I recommend my ROM, but you could say I'm a bit biased. GB ROMs are the only ROMs to have a working camera. Most ICS ROMs now support Bluetooth, but the JB ROM is pretty much for developers only at this stage because a lot of stuff is broken. Currently ICS ROMs are the best way to get stable-ish performance whilst getting loads of new features. Just take a look in the development forum for a RM that you like the look of

[REQUEST] Xperia Mini Pro Stock Keyboard application

I know there are other thread with this request, but nobody wants to solve the problem, and other people wants this to be fixed so: can anybody provide a flashable zip containing the XPERIA MINI PRO stock keyboard including the correct HARDWARE keyboard layout? I want to use it with CM10 Or just tell me what files i need? What are the files used by the stock keyboard? I cant believe that it is impossible to do it in CM10. In IT nothing is impossible! So who one can help me?
This phone - XPERIA MINI PRO - get this name (PRO) because it has physical keyboard...and it is useless with these roms because dont work properly. So i dont understand why didnt anybody do it at the first times. :crying:
AND: I tried the "XPERIA S KEYBOARD" which is a flashable zip, and works perfect as far as you use the ONSCREEN keyboard, but nothing changes when you use the physical one. So i think only 1-2 files can make it work on CM10: onscreen keyboard works -> hardware keyboard SHOULD work Am I right?
Thank you!
sutyi

Thank you, but it isn't what i am searching for
Here is xperia mini pro keyboard I use in custom roms, it worked for many of them :
ul.to/5yq7mldc
(Sorry I can't post a link because I don't have 10 posts yet, boring rule )
If you need a french layout for the keyboard, you'll have to modify file /system/usr/keyboard-config/keyprint.xml and replace qwerty-en by azerty in the latin section.
Does'nt work for me with CyanogenMod 10...
I've the same problem. Therefore, I created my own update, taken form original ICS 431. So you'll get your 'sym' button work. Flash it using CWM.

[ROM][GB] Xperian Z First Version [12/07/2013]

Hi guys i don't wanna waste time because i want to go bed so let's start.
This is Xperian Z, a rom made from BlazeXperia for X10 mini.
I ported this rom to x10 mini pro without deleting files so i didn't personalize it, this is a loyal reproduction
Thanks first of all to BlazeXperia that gave me permission to port his rom, thanks to nAa and emperor.dk for his advanced lockscreen.
To install it flash latest kernel nAagb14, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, install zip from sd card-->xperian Z
No massive bug because i based it on latest cm7 nightly 2.2.1 so bluetooth, led notifications and wifi will work fine.
I noticed some little detailed that i will have fixed in next release but nothing serious.
I hope you enjoy it and like this work
I will fix this thread asap because in these days i'm really busy.
I was forgetting features....You will discover them! :good:
Have a nice day and sorry for the worst english of the world: Mine

Ups sorry mate i thought that i already told you about this bug on other threads a few time ago xD, but in any case i'll be specific now yes xD. Well, it's a little bug that happens on this situation for example: i'm going to write an sms using the Default Input Keyboard, and as you know there are 3 sections of the keyboard to choose 'numbers, letters, smiles', now i want to pick a 'smile' in the smiles section but ups i slided/scrolled the keyboard 2 much 'up/or down, till the end of the scrolling, maximum scrolling to the limit' and it got stucked, now the smiles section isn't working anymore 'it doesn't slide or select anything', oh man what can this be? i know, it's a bug, omgosh it's a bug kill it please before it kills my phone xD , but wait there was a temporary solution, switching to doctor Android Keyboard and then to Default Input again and everything is back to normal, but ups... i did it again, scrolled to much and the bug appeared! can't kill it, don't know what to do xD . You know how to kill this little weasel?. I will attach an image with the logcat of the problem to help you out .
Yes i told you the bug like it was a story, i think it's super specific now xD.

It's Rom bug for sure. Why? 3 reasons: 1 - Original Eclair doesn't have this bug, it works perfect. 2 - There are 2 GB roms that have this bug (almost, because after a few more times it still get stuck) fixed, it's "semc debrand" and "miui" roms, and as you know these 2 roms run on kernel naa-14. 3 - ICS and JB roms don't have this bug either xD.

Like i said there are 2 roms with 'almost' that bug fixed, and almost because it still get stuck after a few more times, and those 2 roms are: Miui Gb rom and Semc Debrand. In Miui that suquashinputmethod.apk is there but on semc i think not, but if you flash that apk in semc debrand it works, so i'm guessing that the problem is not suquashinputmethod.apk because in that case we just had to switch suquashinputmethod.apk from our rom for the suquashinputmethod.apk of those 2 roms :S xD.
But give it a try yes , i'm guessing that the problem is on the folder Framework.
I wish i could help you mate, but unfortunately i've been around these bug for a long time and never able to fix it :S , all the tests i made with those apk's always had the bug or force closed all the time and when i tested framework folder the rom didn't even start because some files in that folder were imcompatible :S, and it wasn't just me trying to fix the bug, it was other developers as well :S . The only possible way i see to solve this bug, is to ask Achotjan or Rempty how to solve this, it won't be completely fixed but it sure is a lot better to have a 'almost' fixed than a 'nothing' fixed :S .
