You can increase you internal by moving all apps (On SD or On Internal Memory) to the second partition on SD card which should be ext2.. And yes "Link2SD" is working very well with me on ICS.. You don't need to unlock your bootloader for such an action.. Use ext2.. X-Parts and recovery is not related to anything of what you will do so don't worry.. I believe that Link2SD is a very good tool.. Use it
I wish I helped you

2.partition sd card ( primary FAT32 and primary ext2)
3.Install X Parts and install CWM from X- Parts.
4.Install a ics custom rom(optional but i want one )
5.download link2sd and set it up .

Thats very easy... If you want to change your android version follow my step-by-step to install:
1st - download and run it:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913136 - to root and install xrec on your phone.
2nd - download your rom
3rd - make a backup using xrec
4th - choose install custom zip and select zip from sd card
5th - wait
6th - reboot
7th - configure
8th - Thats ready to ROCK with custom roms!!!
But if you want a dual boot you need to know how to do it, or installing CyanoComb which comes with, and you need a very good SD card, for example a SDHC 16Gb Class 6 or Class 10. I'm going buy a Class 10 and i will say what tests results.
Btw, I hope I helped you
Thanks for your complete instruction dude
So in order to install GinTonic.Se , there is no need for an ext2/3/4 partition?
Thanks again

[Q]ext3/4,fat32......

Hello to everyone. i want to ask some questions about ext3/4 fat32 app2sd and so on. i am using a gb custom rom on my mini and i use the app2sd app from the market. i partition my sd with fat and ext4. i also know that we can move apps in fat without having any partition (correct me if i am wrong). the question is what i earn by partitioning my sd to ext3/4? do i get some extra performance?
also i mention that in cyanogenmod settings there is an option where we can select it and says ''allow moving apps to external storage'' what exactly these option do?
thank you and sorry for the bad english.
ext4 is the newest format, but it`s not compatible with all roms, fat32 otherwise is compatible with all roms.(no errors) some costum roms have the app to sd integrated, so you don`t have to install the app, you should find this in the changelog of the rom. i hope i could answer some questions
it's not exactly what i want to know but honestly thank you for the answer
I`m sorry to hear that
I found this very interesting thread about ext3/4 an fat 32:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663454 (from post 4)
I hope this helps

[MOD][JB/ICS]Increase internal memory without loosing performance[now in every rom!!]

Hey guys!
I try this internal memory increase mod and it work my Sony Live With Walkman WT19i CM9.1. This mod posted on XDA Xperia Arc Android Development sub forum. This is only a sharing, I'm not the person who developed this Mod. Developed by "XtremeSilencer"
Installation instructions
1. create a ext partition [ any ext2/3/4 ]
2. put this mod in your sd card
3. Make nandroid backup. (backup and restore>backup)
4. Flash the zip (install zip from sd>choose zip from sd card)
5. after flashing...wipe data/factory reset
6. reboot and enjoy
Download:- http://www.mediafire.com/?y7rblybs7474yyp
I think this mod performances depend on the SD card class. If this work hit the thanks button.
Note! After phone boot up, first few minutes phone slow. After that it OK.

Done succcesfully in CM10. Thank u OP for referring us to the great mod
Don't you think that link2sd is better?
It allows you to choose which apps should be stored in phone and which should be moved to sdcard. That really matters because sd-cards are limited in write-read cycles, so moving all apps to sd is not the best idea.
And link2sd is way too simple:
1. Make 2nd partition
2. Install and run link2sd
3. Reboot
4. Move what you want to move

Dead Link...
Can you please add new link, this one id dead.
I want to give it a try, Link2SD is no a solution because the apps still waste internal memory as well...
Thanks

Link2SD wastes the internal memory too. If you have a lot of apps you'll see your memory disappear too
Broken link to download can fix please? Thank you :good:
Here's a link to the original thread, however be warned that the author has been banned (don't know why) and it seems that the script is pretty buggy. I haven't tried it myself but it would be great if theres anything similar that's working.

beginner :(

As most of you I have the same problem with my SD card. I started "playing" with my phone yesterday....
I have Xperia Neo V and i installed today CyanogenMod. - It looks fine but ... no apps. Furthermore I tried to create partitions over my SD card with
MiniTool Partition Wizard. I tried to install the Jelly Bean, but I get the message that sd card cannot be mounted. Can somebody help me with details over the procedure? (download links and steps)
Thanks in advance
I think the instructions are too fuzzy for me ...
Hi @spirto82 you originally posted your question into a HTC One S thread, so I moved your post into the proper device forum.

I think you've created a wrong file system while partitioning. Mind elaborating what file system did you select while making the partition?

I formated the SD as an NFS partition and as Primary and solved the problem! Indeed it was the file system type!
