Hi, it's me again having a question
I was wondering if anyone has started to port the TWRP Recovery to the S3 or if anyone knows if there's going to be official Support for the International S3.
I know that the one from Verizon has it, but I don't want to flash it onto my Device, because I know that there are some differences between these Devices.
I could try to port it, for I do have a little Knowledge in the IT Area (I work as an IT Specialist) but it don't think it's enough to really Develop anything..

Hello XDA, I have recently bought a Alcatel One Touch Pop Icon on Straight Talk. Ive been searching the internet for a root, custom recovery, and ROMs but have had zero luck finding anything remotely close to this phone. None of those "all in one" root solutions work either. If anyone has any idea on how to get started with building a root for this phone or knows anyone that has, it would be great to hear from you. I figured someone out there would know something about this Alcatel phone but its not the model i'm working with. The only issue i see right now is that the recovery is locked down hard. The only choices you get are factory reset or wiping the partition and rebooting. No installs from adb or sdcard. So i'm assuming its a "locked recovery". That's about all i have to say if anyone wants to know more about this phone feel free to ask and il be glad to help and hopefully get somewhere with this!

Thanks for starting this thread. This is a pretty decent phone and I've got Samsung Galaxy Note 3's, S4's and others to compare with. Considering how cheap tracfone is to use I think a lot more people will be shifting to these. With a Quad Core I think it's comparable to at least a Galaxy S3 if not a S4 in many aspects (camera is not as good as S4). Just got one of these myself after thinking a couple days ago that maybe Tracfone had finally added some Android phones with a little more 'Horsepower' than their previous couple. And there it was -- a Quad Core! I've tried a few things so far but no luck with root. Hoping some of the Master Guru's will take a look at this one.

Sorry for a late reply, ive been busy with schooling lately
I'm glad there is some type of base of users for this phone. i agree and hope some of the "masters" will start looking into this phone!
Launcher Layout
So, when i first got this phone, the stock SIMPLE launcher had to go. I tested for about 3 weeks and came across dodol launcher. So far its low ram and buttery smooth on this phone.

Hi I've just bought this phone and am wanting to root it. Have tried all the rooting apk's on the net. Still no root. Does anyone else have this phone and would like to have it rooted? Or if there is a method could you please share. Thanks

I have read the following post:
[TUTORIAL][GUIDE][HOW TO] Root Alcatel One Touch Pop S3 5050. This thread seemed closer to my type of phone.
I have rooted several phones previously however they were either one click or not much "programming". I really want root. I am concerned about the "testing procedure" to see if it worked. Can someone confirm that "testing procedure" to see if the root worked is correct?
I don't mean to insult anyone. I'm don't want to brick my phone, a second opinion is always helpful. Thank you so much for your help from a newbie on Alcatel Pop Icon A846L
I would like to root this phone as well. Unfortunately, I have yet to discover a method that works. Are there any updates as to the status of rooting the phone? Surely it isn't impossible.

well then reboot not root
See ms there are a couple similar roots for the Alcatel line. Sadly my S3 is getting old & slow. This seems like a minimal replacement with a Quad Qualcomm cores, no Mtk (knockoff) junk. The bootloader directions are exactly the same too.

Hey guys, I've had temporary root access successfully many times on this device using kingroot and another quick root method that I've forgotten at this point, the problem is that I haven't found a proper method to unlock the bootloader on this device so the device does not hold root upon reboot
Try downloading kingoroot from kingoapp.com,i hope it works for you coz it works for me
Try using Kingo Root. I just tried it and it worked on the A846L

Hello everyone. I have this phone for a while now and I can say it's a great phone. I have root with Kongo root and have installed one or two apps to go with the root. However, I'm not seeing anything about upgrading this phone via ROMs an so on. Any luck from anybody out there, cos it will be a great help

What version do you have? I have a 5022E, Really nothing all around the web just for 5022D a recovery and a custom rom based on zenfone go. I make a custom recovery ported and a rom ported too based on RR (wash completely interface with CM theme engine and other tweaks) and maybe more in the way, I didn`t upload cause don´t see many users of this specific model. Watch differences between 5022E (mt6580, 1GB ram, 8GB storage) and your model and tell me, maybe can help you

You are correct when you said there really nothing around the web just for 5022D.
I don't really see much difference between the 5022D and 5022E. I think your ported rom will work on mine too.
Or what do you think?
I'll give it a go. As I have downloaded the official firmware for my 5022D. Guidance is all I can say I need now.

So I've been using this phone for quite some time(HTC desire 700 dual Sim) it's running on stock Android which is 4.1.2(it sucks, I know) I am not super good at phone and stuff but I am quite interested and I have already rooted this phone. The problem is that I cant find a custom recovery and custom rom (I would like any new ones, like android 6.0,which obviously will never make it officially into) so yes, I prefer 6.0 or similar ones... I would like to request you guys to help me in this. Would like detailed step to step instructions. I know my phone is stupid and I should replace it but atm I am not willing to buy anything since I have to pay rent. Thank you all. Sorry for my bad english.

you will have to build one, learn how to dump the rom image followed by building a rom.

Hey, bro you can go to rom providers, since it is mediatek powered brain for unlocking you can do with a pc.Developing a custom rom for this bit difficult, but you get it.
Hello all the great developer I am new to XDA the reason why i am here is to make a small request I know you can fulfill the request very easily. So, the problem is I have purchased a phone sansui horizon 2 so this phone is a budjet friendly phone and its very good specs as of its price but now I know when talking it heats and the nougat is not so foot its too much laggy.I started searching for roms that I will flash it and make the phone better but instead of root and phones firmware I couldn't find any thing. So, all of great developers please make just miui ROM for my phone and that's it I will be very thankfull to all of you.telling miui bcos my friend has that phone and I loved that phones ROM so guys I know you can make a ROM for my phone so its an humble request from me please make a ROM for my phone.thanks

I don't have this device nor am familiar with it at all but, I took a quick look at the Specs for it and I saw that it had a "MediaTek MT6737" Processor.
Your best bet is to search for what you need that is for the Mediatek MT6737 or MT67xx devices (in general).
Just a little helpful hint/suggestion/recommendation for you...
