What update are you talking about? The bornal leak or an updated version of the leak?
You should have wiped, always wipe, just as your mother or father has taught you

Not followed the faqs and guides no nandroid flash stock rom .

Do you have a custom recovery installed? Best Deal might be to flash a new ics rom such as resurrection remix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854#
It works absolutely flawlessly and it's very easy to flash using cwm. You'll be rooted after also. And every app should work

You can flash this version of DLI7 ( thanks to Zoot1) , he included the Note 2 gallery in the Rom itself. It's CWM flashable.

It didn't work bcoz you have an odexed stock and, u need a deodexed rom for the Gnote 2 gallery to work

The first thing I would do is a reboot. If that doesn't fix it, I would do a dirty re-flash of the rom.
Just my opinion and YMMV!!!
I would recommend wiping caches and fixing permissions first.

Yes. I think the safest version is 4.3 onwards.

Same. Any roms with 4.3 onwards. Be sure to back up ur efs btw.

actually roms from 4.1.2 are safe from sds so it's realy recommended to flash to that versions or higher. make sure to backup your efs folder or imei/nv data
