I have to turn off all Smart stay options for it to go away. If I turn on Smart stay, smart rotation, Smart pause, smart scroll....the icon comes back on and will not go away...regardless the light hitting the device.

Any way to make the notification LED function while device is charging? My BB would charge but also show notifications / blinks.

May or may not work.
I saw on some other forums there is an app in the market called NoLED which might work however I think that just lights up the whole screen.
Other than that I'd just search google til my eyes turned blue! I've learned to live with it tho... I'm addicted to my phone anyway so I'm constantly checking it. Good luck!
In regards to the beep.. I'm not sure on that one. But for notifications, you can either hit the menu button and hit notifications or try an alternate home style. I use go launcher ex which is free and you can customize everything. There's a setting you can enable that you can swipe down pretty much anywhere on the homescreen (not just specifically on the bar) and it will drop your notification menu.
Next to the clock in the statusbar there is a little minus sign. When I tap it, it says"notifications off, tap here to turn back on". When I tap there, nothing happens.
I don't know how I turned them off to begine with, and can't seem to turn them back on. If I tap the clock, a popup appears with time and date, then I can see the notes, but they don't appear next to the clock like they used to.
Does anyone know how to get this back to normal. I'm on hc, stock rooted. Did a search, didn't see anything that sounded like this.
Press on battery icon, you'll see notification pop up, press small icon at bottom right (looks like 3 slider lines) you'll get the menu with possibility to tick/untick notifications.
How do you get the Smart Screen Icon off the notification bar?
I guess I have it activated...not sure where to turn it off??

With Active Display, your notifications are available to you right on your screen without any other clutter or distractions. You can easily open up any important notifications or simply dismiss them with a swipe of the screen. There's this annoying gesture. I have no idea how to initiate it but sometimes when I touch the screen, a line begins to draw. If I create a circle with my finger it then captures that as a picture. The problem is that I have no idea what gesture initiates this line drawing, and it's also very annoying because it happens to me at random times.
I have all the gestures ( that I can find) turned off within the settings.
That feature is called Smart screenshot. To disable it go to Settings > Smart assistance > Motion control > Smart screenshot

That's not it either . I disabled smart screenshot and I still get this same gesture.
What it does is creates a picture of the area that I draw into a circle. Not the entire screenshot.
It's very annoying because it only happens randomly and I have no idea how to actually initiate it.
Edit: I figured out how to initiate it. It's supposed to be a single knuckle tap to start drawing. I guess my callus sausage thumbs get recognized as a knuckle from time to time.
Now if I could only turn off this gesture!!
