[Q] Locked out of my phone - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay... So my phone's flex cable ripped a few months back and my phone's display went out. I replaced the LCD and broke my digitizer in the process, only to find that it wasn't the lcd. I just replaced the flex cable and now my phone turns on and what not, but because I broke my digitizer, only the top half of the screen works, meaning I can't put in my pattern and am locked out of my phone. I ordered a new lcd a while ago, but as I wait for it to get here, I have the urge to play with my phone. I remember reading somewhere that there's a way to get into the phone, but I'm not able to dig it up.
It's just strange 'cus no matter how many times I input the incorrect password, it won't bring me to the 'sign into google to verify' page so I can just log into my google and have it unlock. Though that might be due to not having it activated currently, since I've had another phone activated on my account since then. But if I could just get it to sign onto the wifi I'd be fine. My phone has a keyboard so it's not too hard to navigate or type. Any solutions?

Anyone?

[Q] Touch Screen issues

I dropped my phone last August and cracked the screen. After several hours to find out the Verizon sales person didn't add the insurance to my phone.
This put me to searching the pages of Ebay to find a true Verizon digitizer replacement from China. 6 weeks later I replaced the screen with the tools provided(minus the fact I didn't realize the seal to the chassis had to be heated to release the old screen) this causes dust to get behind the screen (boo).
So after a few months the cursor when using the keyboard would just move on its own. Each month it gets worse and worse to the point you can't even use it and have to re-flash the ROM again.
The home screens when long pressing to delete something will skip and miss the trash can and you have to try several times to delete something. The soft keys will get messed up and the menu will act like the back button.
Has anyone had issues like this or maybe know of a calibration tool.

[Q] Digitizer

This is the 2nd digitizer I've broken on this phone. I took it off and replaced it. I put it back together and the digitizer did not work. I checked the connections and even took the digitizer off. I put the old, cracked but working, digitizer on and it no longer worked. I took the phone apart again and put the new digitizer on and it still did not work. Considering the old digitizer suddenly did not work, it must have been something I did to one of the boards or connectors on the phone. Also, the speaker no longer works. Any thoughts or suggestions on where I went wrong?
I can't guess what's the problem exactly but I can give you a few tips.
dissasmeble the phone according to the vidoes you can find on the web.
when you assemble it don't attach the digitizer to the screen yet. connect the digitizer first to the phone. then put the screen in place, with the digitizer still connected but not on the screen.
in this way you can test the phone before "closing" it.

[Q] HDMI with broken screen?

So today I was out with my friends and I was swinging a tree branch (don't ask why) and I dropped it on the back of my phone which was in the pocket. The screen was already broken but this time the internal LCD look warped out. I opened up the back and the battery was dented. Nothing but random dots of colors appeared at the bottom of the screen. I'm almost certain it still works because I got a text message and it rung. I have an HDMI cable and I hooked it up to a TV but only the Motorola "M" shows up. So, my question is: How do I get the image to show up? I can unlock with my eyes closed, I just don't know were to press to choose the HDMI settings! Also, can anybody give me a website for a cheap screen repair? All the website i've been to are 200 $

Motorola will fix it for about $179. Although you will have to send it to them, and be without it for about a week to 10 days. Motorola will tell you it takes about 5-7 work days from the time they receive it until you get it back in your hands. I sent a RAZR MAXX to them, and they misplaced it. I did get the phone back, and they waived the repair cost for losing my phone. But it was a big headache to go through. So, make sure you have everything documented when you send it to them. Just something to think about.

Getting data off an S6 Edge with a busted LCD

My wife dropped her S6 edge a few months back and broke the back glass. Everything worked fine, though, until a few days ago when the screen suddenly stopped working. The screen displays two columns of alternating gray lines if the power button is held down for a few seconds or if the home button is pressed; otherwise the buttons seem to be non-responsive. Also, the left-most LED is illuminated solid purple almost all the time. I brought it to a repair shop, and they said it was a broken LCD. (Not sure why the LED would stay illuminated then, but whatever.)
I'm trying to figure out if there's any way to get the data off the phone without dropping $300 to replace the LCD. It's not rooted, and USB debugging isn't enabled. Also, she already got a replacent phone and swapped out the SIM, for what that's worth. I'm also 90% sure she never created a Samsung account and, in any event, i think it would be moot since she's swapped phones, no? Basically, I only really care about the pictures of our kids, but she unfortunately didn't have Google photos sent to sync, either.
Additionally, neither Windows Explorer nor Samsung Smart Switch recognizes it when you plug it in. I've tried attaching it to both a mouse and a keyboard via OTG adaptor to try to unlock the pass code (numerical, not pattern), but it doesn't seem like that worked because nothing happened after doing that and then plugging it into my computer. I was going to try the trick of hooking it up to my TV to mirror the screen, but I've read that the S6 Edge doesn't support MHL, so that seems like a bust.
Any and all thoughts greatly appreciated.

Question nokia x100 questiona

i got a nocia x100 from ebay and of course, it was locked. i tried 1500 password combo numbers and nothing worked. so i got a broken nokia x100 again from ebay that was unlocked but has a bad screen glass. so i have that all set up and working and tomorrow i will swap out the motherboard from the broken glass phone into the good glass phone. anyway how can i get the app's icon to show on the home screen and then be able to page it like the Samsungs and other phones i have? and how do i rearrange the home recent and back buttons at the bottom? i do see when i swipe up the apps show and are in alphabetical order so if i can't get the app's icon on the home page and then have them page i guess that will do. but i sure would like to get the buttons rearranged.
ok i swapped out the broken phones working motherboard with the locked motherboard and the good phone now works like new, i did not do the swap until i set the broken glass phone to my account. then i swapped them. and after i put the locked motherboard into the broken glass phone it still did not work. i was kind of hoping that there may have been a jumper a screw had connected and when i took the screws out that jumper may have been broken enough to reset the locked motherboard, but it did not so now i had a working Nokia x100 and spares. now to see if i can get it connected to metro pcs with my free number. but before i do i will use it for a bit just to make sure i like it better than the a21 phone that is now on metro. i also have an a51 on Tracfone so i'm testing them. what i want is when i get scam calls is to be able to swipe the number into blocked mode. on the a21 and the a51 i have to tap the number then tap an ! point and then tap block and then tap a ? mark and then tap delete. on my lgk20 i could swipe the number and it got blocked and vanished for the phone.
anyway now to test this nokia x100 for a bit to see how it holds up. it does seem a bit faster. thanks
