Notification LED - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Is there a way to change the color of my notification LED for txt messages? Mine blinks blue for all notifications. I know my Droid 3 blinked green for messsges, emails, ect, and blue for Facebook. Does anyone know? Its not a huge deal just something I'd like to change if at all possible

I can't for the life of me get light flow to work. Got the charging LED to work but not SMS/MMS or gmail.

Make sure it is enabled in accessibility in the my device settings.

How many colors can the LED in the S4 display? I know it does red, green, and blue, what others?

Yes but it tries to turn on talk back. Thought that bug was fixed

Its probably like the galaxy nexus where it can do pretty much any mix of the colors. Its an rgb led I believe.

Turned it on in accessibility and everything works perfectly

Am I doing this correctly? I have "USA and Canada S3 mode" and "Run in foreground" enabled as well as light flow lite enabled in Accessibility to get this app to work properly on my S4. Are any of these actions redundant or will cause more battery drain? Thanks.
Edit: I disabled "USA and Canada S3 mode" and "Run in foreground" to get the colors right.

i still get some talkback issues when viewing gallery, hope to see this resolved soon

Are you rooted? The usa/Canada mode is inky for non-root. Also, running in foreground is not needed. (not for me at least)
I have lightflow running flawless and I'm absolutely loving how it works with dashclock

Negative. I think my lightflow is working correctly.

I just uninstalled Lightflow. It constantly did nothing for certain notifications, I'm getting texts and having no LED at all even though I have it set to blink orange. It works when I test in the app, it works for a little while, and then I just get nothing.

[Q] Turn Off LED

Is there a way to not have the led indicator on the side flash when emails arrive? I keep my tablet in a cradle on my nightstand and the flashing light wakes me up in the middle of the night if an email comes in. I've tried everything I can think of.
Thanks,
Roger
Turn off wifi?
Light Flow app on the Market.
Light Flow worked great. Thanks
Roger
If memory serves me correctly there is a setting somewhere which was something like
"Turn off notifications until......"
Not with the tablet at the moment but I'll double check later.

Yes there is such option during email account set up but I can't find it after set up.
I have a question regarding the LED, too:
Is it a multicolor LED, so can I change the color using Lightflow for notifications (calender, email...)?
Thanks

It seems that the Turn off notification only appears during account set up. So you can delete the account and turn off the notification during account re-set up.

To clarify, yes, it is multicolour but not all the colours in Light Flow line up exactly with what colour the Sony displays. Red colours particularly seem to be displayed much lighter than usual on the Tablet.
Thanks for clarifying this!

Light flow still buggy after latest update?

I just bought light flow once I heard its been updated for Jelly Bean. I'm running CM10 on my GS III and set up all my notifications. However even when I don't have any notifications my phone shows this dim green light. I've checked all my settings in light flow and have no idea whats causing this. Any ideas?

From the developers website...
" As many will probably know the hardware in the US S3 is different. Dual code compared to Quad and some variants with LTE.
Not only is the processor and radio hardware different but controlling of the LEDs is also different. At the moment the US S3 seems to have its color matrix mixed up, so issuing a code of Red will come out a totally different color. Putting out the color black (which we use when there's no notifications) causes the phone to display green."

Me too. When I saw it was updated, I was hoping it would work with the S3 but no dice. Most of the lights I set up would not work at all. And none of them would flash, just stay on constantly.
Although initially i was happy to know sg3 come with notification led, not anymore. There is something non standard about led notification in US phones which is making it not play nicely with many third party apps including light flow. It properly works only with stock dialer, stock email and messaging. Couldn't get it to work properly with k9 mail, google voice, good messaging, facebook app or anything else i use!

In CM10 you can change the led color without a 3rd party app, go to Settings > Display > Notification light > and you will see default where you can pick you LED color.
The developer of that app has an AT&T GSIII on the way to him he purchased to resolve this problem. It shouldn't be long.

[Q] Is there a way to customize the LED?

I didn't put this thread in q and a since it's not really asking for basic help.
Moving along, i like the way the led pulses on phone power off with the animated Samsung logo. Is there some way to get the led to pulse like that for notifications? I'm a little disappointed that there aren't more ways to customize the appearance of it.
Thanks in advance!

Well you really shouldn't have put it here because you sure aren't developing anything. You should read the forum rules so you know where to post.
To Your question there are apps in the play store that let you do that.

Not sure what I did but I have Lightflow working with talkback off. I'll mention that Lightflow works best when you have root which I have. My setup does just what I want. Also note that the Note 2 has a setting that enables flashing the LED for incoming messages, voice mail and one other thing I can't recall. The drawback of this stock capability is that the flashing goes off when the screen comes on. I only want the light off when I go to the app causing the LED notification which Lightflow allows me to setup.
Light manager works beautifully andbits free...no bugs

If rooted, the light will stay on when the screen is on using light flow - go into settings and enable root mode and s3 root mode. Unless I misunderstood what you said, in which case, my bad.
Also, once it disables air view to turn on light flow, just go back in and turn on airview

Change LED Color For Notification

I always wondered how to change the colors of the led for different notifications but after seeing in the menu that it would only let me turn them on or off i thought i was going to have to use an app to control it. Well I just stumbled across this and thought I would share just in case someone else didnt know this. If you edit a contact it gives you the option of changing the color of the LED for that persons notifications. Hope this helps.
Awesome, thanks!

Yes, i saw that, and is is useful. I want to find a way to customize the led color on an app by app basis.
Is there a way to get the light to work for third party apps like go SMS?

Great it works, i found out for hangout the first blink of led is the stock colour and then goes to the desired colour from lightflow. Is that unavoidable behavior? Is there a chance of turning of LED from lg setting and letting light flow do all the work? It seems to me that will turn off led entirely. Thanks Again

S3 to G3

just picked up the G3 on sunday. i am pretty impressed. i have one issue, the notification light. the light itself is the size of the head of a pin.(so small!) and the light only blinks once every like 20 seconds it seems.
I tried light flow but it seems to blink even when there is no notifications and it leaves a constant notification in my drop down that just says "lightflow" which is a bother. even w/ that app the size of the notification dot is SOOOO tiny. anyone else frustrated by this. i mean the dimish screen i can deal w/ but having to wait 20 seconds and squinting to see if i have a notification is killing me. any fixes or remedies besides lightflow?

You need to adjust the settings in light flow. There is an option to turn off the notification. I am using it. Really nice to have a fast blinking light for sms. Also changed the color for email to yellow.
Otherwise there are LED settings in the Tweaksbox xposed.

Uncheck the "Run in foreground" to remove the notification from light flow.
