multi windows tab disappearing? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

my multi window tab seems to randomly disappear, if i go into settings though and uncheck/check the box it comes back. Is there something i'm missing or is like android killing the service?

[Q] Can you restrain the keyboard?

Is there a way to keep the keyboard from popping up (temporarily)? So I want to keep the keyboard from showing on a certain website.
Here's the deal: on a website I like to visit there is a small animation and a place to type in your response. The keyboard pops up and covers the animation. I actually don't care about typing my response - I just want to see the animation. Thanks

Not exactly the answer you are looking for ... but you can close the keyboard by pressing the back key once.
--L.
One way you could do it is to download Smart Keyboard Pro and go to Settings --> Advanced Settings --> Hide in Portrait.

Thanks, mattdm - that should work and I may very well use that suggestion. Does anyone know of a free alternative?

TouchPal keyboard has that. When it pops up, there's an arrow pointing down on the right side and it'll disappear. swiftkey has that feature too .

The thing is that the keyboard doesn't disappear quick enough before the animation starts and it is a quick animation so I miss the beginning. In case you are wondering what the heck I am doing... I am learning ASL fingerspelling. A hand spells letters of a word at different speeds for practice so if I miss the first letter, I miss the word.
Thanks for all your help everyone!

My suggestion will do it instantly. I know there's a free trial version of Smart Keyboard on the Play Store...try that one and see if it has that feature.

[Q] Popup When Placing In DK30 Dock

When I put my phone in this dock, I always get a popup offering me a couple of apps. I don't want any apps to run when docking, any ideas how I get rid of this bloody annoying popup?
I tried putting an action in SmartConnect, which runs, but the popup STILL appears! :crying:
Please help...

Already off.
It is the "Smart Connect" application that launches an application called "view".
SC can trigger different events when the phone is placed in the magnetic dock. The default one being to start a slide-show of your stored photos.
With the phone in the dock you can slide from the top, select the view app (looks like a blue wavy thing) and hold down the slide-show and remove it.
Or launch SC and just turn off View completely with the blue switch at the top.

No, it's not. View is disabled in Smart Connect, so there is no Notification. As I said in the OP, even if I put an action in SmartConnect, this popup appears in addition...
Turning the view thing off completely using the switch at the top as described above worked for me.

Not for me, because as I said it's not SmartConnect doing it. View is already disabled.
Could you please try posting Screenshots for further assistance?

Screen does not light when I look at it.

When I first bought my Gear S, the screen lit up when I looked at it. Now if I raise my arm it remains dark unless I press the home button. Any ideas?

Check your motion settings.
To enable or disable the Wake-up gesture:
► On the Apps screen, tap Settings > Motions and tap Wake-up gesture.
Ok, figured it out. Had to restart the watch after adding new apps.

[Q] Lollipop heads up

Ok, I have a Samsung Galaxy s4.just got lollipop and thought that the notifications would be more of a pop up at top after the update. But it seams that my notifications are only changed in the drop down menu. Is this all that happens? Cause I was expecting more.

Question App locked and won't close

So I use Indeed a lot asI am looking for new employment. But when I go to close out all the apps open Indeed has a lock icon and will not close out. How do I disable this lock so I can close indeed fully to conserve battery power?

Tap the square icon next to the home button (I know it's Back, and Home, but i'm not sure the name of the square button).
On the list of open apps, touch and hold on the task you want to lock/unlock for a second or two. A dialog will open with the option to lock/unlock the app.
My phone is a little wonky. When I bought the phone it never had the back, home and square buttons on the bottom of the screen. I am including another screenshot to show you what I see when I am on the home screen.
I figured it out. although this phone is an android the OS works similar to an Apple or an iPhone Man Am I glad this is only a temporary phone. I despise iPhones.
