[Q] Media Link HD and Google Play Apps Compatibility - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I'm been having compatibility issues between my Media Link HD and EVO 4G LTE when trying to stream content from the Google Play media apps. Movie rentals refuse to play as well as music off of All Access. Anyone else running into this? I suspect its some DRM BS that Google has programmed into all their apps. Submitted a support email to Google...we'll see how long it takes to get past people who don't have the technical know-how to assist me.

[Q] archos gen 8 video error

idk if anyone else has put the new market on their tablet but i did and was trying to get the videos app to play on it but its throwing an error and wont load i was wondering if anyone has found a fix for this or if it is an issue with the tablet not being google certified.Anyone have any ideas on a fix?
That has nothing to do with the Market, as it is working for "everyone" else.
What type of Video?
Where is that video?
Rebooted?
i mentioned the new market only because the video rental is a feature of the new market i knew that wasnt the cause but ive tried three different movies and im using the videos app in the market i was thinking it just doesnt support archos but i wasnt sure do you know of any other ways to play videos rented from the market on the tablet other than the videos app? also i tried rebooting and its actually occurred on two different 101s cuse i just got my replacement today
Where did you state that you are talking about the new google video rental?
As this is ( if it would work ) only available in the us, i can't helop you there.
That's what I meant by the videos app I was referring to theories rental service but the videos app is the player used to play the rented videos from the market
Could you please try to talk in a way that someone outside your head could get what you are talking about?
What is your problem?
Is that Google Videoplayer not working or is the "normal" Videoplayer not able to play the google encrypted and drm'ed videos?

[Q] Video Rental when Rooted/Playback

I was wondering since I have rooted my ATP can i rent movies that are under the "Videos" app or is this no longer allowed? I thought I read somewhere that this function violates the DRM. If so is there any sites where I can download or rent movies. Also, if i have bit torrent movies installed on a computer what can i use to play those on my ATP.
I rooted mine and have been able to watch movies without any issues from the vvideos service.

[Q] Google Music over DLNA or WiFi

So Google Music App can stream to Bluetooth perfectly fine but not DLNA or over WiFi. Seems like it should be able to stream DLNA or WiFi if it can handle Bluetooth. Any technical reason why it cannot? I have only been able to get it to play over Bluetooth, Headphones or connect directly to Media device but not DLNA or WiFi the most ideal connections. With the infamous Nexus Q I believe it could connect and stream via WiFi but that is the only instance I am aware of. So outside of buying a discontinued Nexus Q our all powerful devices are crippled? Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.
Any developer out there that wants to make some money, please develop an App to accomplish this. 20,000 songs on my Google Music account and I you limit how I can play my music.
bubbleupnp
The Google music app will not do what you want, but BubbleUPnP in the play store is the best DLNA app out there and can directly access music you have stored on Google music and stream that over DLNA (along with many other talents, it really is a great app!)

Yeah, but you'll have to purchase BubbleUPnP. Now, that wouldn't be a big deal, it's just that I prefer the Google Play Music app for Google music streaming, hence by resorting to 3-rd party apps such as BubbleUPnP you end up fragmenting your playback environment. I'd frankly love to see Google's app doing DLNA streaming as well, hence I'm with antwan30184 on this. Furthermore, if not acting as a DLNA server, at least DLNA client would still earn kudos with me.
You can try AirPlay/DLNA Receiver (PRO) too, it's work fine to me.
My guess is that Google intentionally limits this functionality to bolster Chromecast.
There's an app called "Cast to UPnP/DLNA for GMusic" that runs as a service and will allow you to cast DLNA devices through Google Music. It's strange, but if you have it running on one device on your network, all devices will be able to cast to the DLNA device through Google Music.

HTC Media Link HD issues

Hey everyone I've jumped over from the iPhone/Apple ecosystem so don't shoot me, but I'm really disappointed with this HTC Media Link HD. I've still got Airplay running side by side and these problems don't exist. I don't mean that to argue about Airplay and whatnot because neither companies are paying me royalties to argue for or against them. I just mention it because I can Airplay stream and mirror without a hitch so I don't want to fend off "your wireless network stinks" responses. I've got an Asus N66 and can sustain mbps back to my NAS/ESXi well beyond what this needs, and I can also stream non-hand braked blu rays without problem. I understand there is differences between streaming and mirroring, but also as I understand this should be a wireless direct connection.
Anyone having these problems:
1. Google Play (perhaps the latest version only) does not look to work with my Media Link. It will play one song and then stop as it tries to load the next song. Manually restarting the next song doesn't resolve I have to close and re-open. Spotify works fine.
2. Any flash I've tried to stream results in audio and video out of sync. I can mirror flash movies across airplay without this issue.
3. Audio cuts in and out in Spotify all the time. I can rarely get 2 songs to play in a row without chop. The cut outs are brief, but still very annoying.
Thanks for any help! Love the phone quite a bit, this is probably my first disappointment.
I have the same problem trying to stream google play music to media link. It only plays one song and it won't play any other songs until I disconnect from media link again - it works fine if its not connected to media link - but with media link only one song?

This issue exists with Google Play Movies as well. I tried contacting support about it a couple months ago with nothing ever coming from it. I was trying to play All Access via Play Music today and ran into the same problem. The songs will not even play when the Media Link HD is connected. I suspect this is some DRM related code put into all the Google media apps. I submitted a support email to Google as will attempt to get as far through to the real tech support people as I can to see if this incompatibility can be resolved. I urge you all to do the same. Stupid DRM...it ruins everything.
It won't play tv.com either, it will play cnn live broadcast, and vevo.

[Q] No HD playback from Google play movies

Hi - whenever I purchase movies from Google play store the movies don't playback in high definition or download in hd. I have tried to speak to Sony and they've said it's Google's issue and Google are saying the exact opposite. In the meantime I'm left with SD format even though I paid for HD content. The movies play in HD on all my other Android devices. Anyone had the same problem.
