[Q] What keyboard are you using with your S4? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Just curious what keyboard everyone is using. The S4 is defaulted to the Samsung keyboard which uses SwiftKey, but the S4 also comes with Swype. Are you using one of those, or are you using another? Maybe the SwiftKey or Swype from the market to gain some more options? Another keyboard?
What are you using, and why do you prefer it?

I'm using SwiftKey from the market. The stock Samsung keyboard does not have auto correct which is not something I can deal with.

I'm using stock 4.2.2 keyboard because I like the Holo UI look.

Kii. It has the option for the top number row like the stock keyboard, but it has autocorrect. I own Swiftkey also, but I hate it.

I use swiftkey from the market although the stock keyboard is kinda nice with the number row on top

installed the AOSP 4.2.2 keyboard. got so use to it when i was on my nexus, why change..

Check out the Swype keyboard I modded for a dedicated number row:

i am using the google keyboard currently, but looking for something with a little better flow. the fact that the comma key isn't on the letter screen bothers me.

+1 SwiftKey.

I've been using swiftkey but the lag the keyboard creates drove me crazy. I'm now using the Google keyboard and I bounce to the kii keyboard every once in a while.

I like that it matches my N7

I used to be a huge fan of kii. Then I found swift key.
Had some fun with touch pal.
But ended right back up with swift key

SwiftKey keyboard without a doubt.

I personally love using HTC_IME MOD (HTC keyboard)...
I want to know what others use and why...
i am running 2.3.5 but i am using the old android 2.2 stock android keyboard. i like that it doesn't have space in between the letters so the keys are bigger. and i text a lot and i think the bigger the keys are, the faster i can text.

Keyboard suggestions?

Any suggestions on what a good keyboard to use on my Touchpad?
I'm currently using some free one called Tablet Keyboard I think. It's ok but when in portrait view, i find it a bit tedious to keep switching between left and right half of the keyboard/screen.
[Sent from my *voided* HTC EVO 4G via Tapatalk 2]
Hackers keyboard is by far the best i've come accross yet.
swype (the new beta works perfectly on touchpad) or swiftkey tablet x for me
Thumb keyboard for me
Multilingual works well for me. Very configurable.
EDIT: I meant Multiling, danged autospell messed me up

Thumb keyboard or Swype, have them both, since I broke my right wrist Swype has been a lifesaver, lol.
if only the default keyboard can be slimmer and smaller. that will just do the job. anyone know how to do it?
or maybe port the webos keyboard

SwiftKey all the way
I've tried Smarter Keyboard, Swift Key X, GO Keyboard, and the Stock keyboard.
The predictions in Swift Key are the best I've ever seen. I bought it for my DesireHD and that worked so well. Until now I was using the Beta 3 on my TP but it's expired, so no more predictions
Now I have to buy the Tablet version because the normal one isn't quite suited for a 10" screen.
BTW, GO Keyboard is terrible. I like how minimal SwiftKey is. I don't want some stupid shortcut bar taking up room on the screen like in GO!
SwiftKey tablet is great, love the split keyboard and the predictions.
Sent from my jelly bean gnex
I've tried them all.and when you compare configuration possibilities and customization nothing beats Thumb Keyboard in any field. Swiftkey may have a little better prediction but nit enough to warrant me switching over from Thumb
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
I'm using the stock keyboard most of the time since it has the best accuracy multi finger typing as on a physical keyboard.
Thumb Keyboard is the best I've used. (old screenshot below)
You can also check float and split keyboard. It has 4 different layout. I dont really use the prediction, so i dont know how the prediction is compared to other keyboard. But, it definitely has one of the best keyboard layout option i would say. These screenshots are two out of the 4 options.
Thank me if i helped

another keyboard worth to try superkeyboard . name says it all its super
Swype Beta FTW! Best keyboard on the market right now. Ironically its actually not on the market... Oops, I meant play store. Swyping> letter typing. An average Swype user inputs more words per minute than a skilled conventional "button presser"

Stock Keyboard am I crazy?

Am I crazy or is the Samsung Keyboard garbage? It does word prediction but doesn't auto correct... WTF?!?! Or am I missing something here?

This is pretty crappy on samsung's behalf. A keyboard without autocorrect?

intelinside83 was referring to the lack of a number row on the stock Android 4.2 keyboard. The stock Samsung keyboard is quite different, including the inclusion of the number row.

This really is quite silly of Samsung. The keyboard has auto prediction and in my experience the auto prediction works quite well. The problem is that the keyboard will only input what you actually type regardless of whether or not it's correct. If you want to enter a predicted word you have to tap it yourself. I can't imagine it would be too difficult for Samsung to change the keyboard to favor the top predicted word, which would essentially be auto correct.
I'm still using the Samsung keyboard though because I'm getting along with the Swiftkey flow integration rather nicely.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I'm actually really happy for the number row since I use numbers frequently and it was a pain having to constantly toggle it on/off. And, that auto-correction is disabled as I usually disable it any. Just had to turn off auto-spacing and auto-capitalization because it was wreaking havoc on authenticating into web sites like this one as it was adding a space in-between my password. Good riddance I say...

It is reported that upcoming 4.1.2 (not 4.2) enhancements will include integrated "swyping" functionality into the keyboard so it wouldnt make sense for them not to rectify the autocorrection issue.

Did the stock Sammy JB keyboard in the GS3 have no autocorrect either? Or does that phone still run ICS?
I might just have to switch to Swiftkey or Thumb Keyboard again - but that number row is GREAT - it is hard to turn away from it.
Yeah I went back to the stock samsung keyboard just cuz of the numbers... silly but I'm loving it! Just hooing for auto-correction. Maybe if they dont fix it someone will come out with a 3rd party with numbers!
Tappin from my Marble White Note II
Yup, no autocorrect. I'm using Swiftkey now.
It seems the Samsung keyboard is actually a variation of the swiftkey flow. I wonder if it's something to do with that. The flow part works pretty well and I love the number row

Emojis?

Anyone know a way to get emojis working on everything not just third party sms apps? I'm talking instagram and all. I tried an app but it added a keyboard I had to switch to and they didn't all with. It would be even better if it worked with Swype haha.

I prefer swype like interface.
I have used both swiftkey (before swype-like interface) and afterwards, swype, thumb keyboard, and Slideit.
I prefer using swiftkey slightly.
Swype is probably the best in regards to sliding.
Slideit is nice but has a slight lag that messes me up.
Swiftkey has some predictive stuff which can both help or hinder.
I think you can't go wrong with any of the above 3.
For tablets, I just use thumb keyboard.
for me either stock 4.2 keyboard or samsung galaxy s4's keyboard love them both
I like the stock keyboard and Google keyboard from the market. The stock keyboard is tough to type with after having a number of drinks

Haha. I use SwiftKey, in Pitch color scheme. Jelly Bean keyboard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jlsoft.inputmethod.latin.jelly.free is great too. Just like the stock Google keyboard but with more secondary functions on the keys.
As someone who purchased both swype and swiftkey, I personally use the Samsung keyboard, though I must add that I took the apk from the international version and changed some things to make it work how I wanted it to. Currently I m testing the Google keyboard from the 4.3 leak and its pretty good, haven't used it very long though.

Wish Swype would for allow for customer autotexts (abbreviations). I use about 100 of these daily.
I used to use swiftkey before I came to the s4 but now I dont seem to think it looks good on the phone it just looks plan so as of now im using stock even though I serverly hate the keyboard because I keep making mistakes on it.

I've used SwiftKey for nearly a year now. I did try the 4.2 stock keyboard for a week or two but found my way back to SwiftKey. The predictive capabilities are phenomenal and can really save you time.
I like the stock Samsung key board. The numbers on top are great. My only concern is the dictionary. I have added words to the Samsung dictionary, but they still dont show up when texting. Has anyone had success with adding words to the dictionary?
