Remove stock bootup sound (rooted users) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

If anyone wants to get rid of the boot up sound on the stock rom use a root browser like root explorer and go to:
/system/media/audio/ui
I renamed poweron.ogg to poweron.ogg.bak and reboot.

You can, get toast 10 and you can record in ogg. Or record using a standard digital recorder and convert it to .ogg

bro it will definitely replace the default music player of your rom (which i assume is either music 2.0 or 4.0) !!
try to back up and freeze your default music player using titanium back up and then push the new music apk, after that you can back it up also so that if it will be easy for you to switch music players (depending on your taste) without even deleting the other or you can delete permanently the other one.
ps: if you want to get your old music player back, use winrar and find the music apk located at the system app of the rar file of your rom and extract it.

[Q] Jellybean Nexus boot animation?

Edit: As seen here at 00:00:35 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE1WxgYtqqA&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Has anyone ported the nexus boot animation yet? I'm talking about the one that shows the multi coloured 'X' that glows. Thanks!

How stupid of me, sorry, its not a flashable zip, download the file in that thread and unzip it, move the bootanimation.zip file to the appropriate location (system/media). It is there, that's how I got it.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
I would recommend NOT using /system/media and instead using /data/local.
That way you don't replace the original animation and have something to refer back to should you need it. Plus /system/media has a small size limitation while /data/local has a larger size available.
I also pulled the file from one of the JB GNex ROMs if anyone else needs it and the link pcfanboy142 provided doesn't work for anyone.

Simple but very neat hack! :good:
But yes the music control is a bit overlapping when the screen locked.
Not really a big problem though since the control is working.
Oops,
But for me work ,is only bugged the visualisation
I already tried that trick from another thread, and I had trouble answering calls. I had to unlock to do it and it was fairly buggy.

OMG seriously. There's a cwm file to flash to put the lock screen on and fix the music buttons location. It was made months ago

Ok, long time flasher and sometime helper, but this mod is kicking my tail!!! Can I get some help please? I change dpi using romtoolbox pro to 240. I then move the jar file and system ui and reboot. I go into cwm and fix permissions and reboot. No luck with it rebooting. I am on beans build 4.
If any of you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.
You placed system/app/systemui.apk and you placed android.policy.jar in system/framework correct?

Correct on both. It requires me to overwrite the files that are being replaced. I am wondering if it is because of CWM fix permissions and not twrp. Which did you use?

That's weird because this will work at 320dpi. It completely changes the UI bar...there's just alignment issues at high dpi. Like you shouldnt have a regular ui bar at all.
Let me see if I can make flashable zip
Also just curious you don't have qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in your buildprop for the softkeys do you? It should be 0 or non existent if you've never fooled with it
I use twrp try it without touching permissions
