No there is no such thing for android. The only way to get paid apps free is by using warez which is forbidden here and normally contain keyloggers and data miners.

free is not good for developer.

True..

In my country(italy) there are two
1 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appturbo.appturboIT&feature=search_result
2 "App Gratis" that you don't find in the market..
In alternative you can also use Amazon Store...

wait what?

LIAR! Or maybe you don't understand what he's talking about....? There's definitely a few android alternatives that keep track of when apps go on sale or free (from somewhere like the Amazon App Store). Freapp, Appgratis and Droid of the Day are a few helpful solutions..

Temporarily free is not bad for devs in the iTunes store. It's very ratings driven, so introducing an app for free for a couple days, or having a one day free event gets a devs product out there and noticed and reviewed/rated by more users, bringing the app higher in the lists and made more visible in categories and search results. And then there is word-of-mouth advertising.
The Play store doesn't seem to have the ability to sort results by ratings. If I'm going to pay for an app when there are many alternatives, I want user reviews and ratings as a guide.

People that don't follow rules and are pirates are the worst.
Can I ask, what is applanet? I'm assuming it's illegal, but I've never heard of it... Could you shed some light on this for me please? Thanks

And even if they did shut that down, someone else would just open up another site doing the same. Its a never ending trend.

No offense dude, i'm not taking the side of the evil pirate.
But i got my experia from my uncle, so that point is invalid.
I think we shouldn't be criticising the OP, simply because installing AppPlanet does not constitutes piracy... you can't say for sure that he is going to install paid apps...
Maybe he has problems with Google market, and is only downloading free apps... I know this sounds improbable but we can't know for sure what his intentions are...
I for one, download from AppPlanet for testing purposes before buying the app... and nothing on this world (even a ban on XDA, like someone proposed a few posts back) will make me change my mind... simply because the 15 minutes refund policy on the market is ridiculous... if your phone freezes and you have to reboot it, you're doomed...

Simply stated that giving him the link for appplanet would probably constitute warez and I'm not putting my neck on the line for op That is all lol
regardless of the reasons you use applanet (testing apps or whatever), applanet is still warez and against xda's rules.

that place isnt discussed here. if you want apps, try to regular market and buy them. continued discussion may lead to you getting banned. just a fyi
So, you can afford to own a smartphone but not a couple of dollars to buy some apps legally and support the developers? Do you go to 7-11 and steal soda as well?

"App Sale Alert" App?

Anyone know of any?

Yea, there are a few that do this, Im not sure if they are still around, give me a bit (later today) and I will see if I can find something.
In the mean time, check if AppBrain has this functionality.
When I had my iphone (4 yrs ago) I had an app called "Appsniper". It watched apps I selected and alerted me of discounts.
Only if there was some other way... Wink!
Regular Play Store already does that.....
Just look thru the featured and the front page and actually read (cuz I know when I look in Play first thing I'll do is head to Apps section or just search lol)

How else is it going to notify you of the apps that are on sale? Can't do it if it is not running.
Since I have apple and android, I use a site call appaggie. I use the RSS feeds to alert me.

I'd rather the app notify me in the notification bar or just when I log in the app rather than it start at boot... many apps don't need to run at boot but still push notifications to you. Draw something the game for instance...

Yes I get your point. Maybe it is a funding issue. Using airpush or similiar if there is one may be an extra cost to the developer. Hopefully it is a route that more developers will use in the future.
Im the developper of AppSales, thanks for your feedback!
Like Agoattamer said, the app needs the "start on boot" permission to start the service which checks if there are new sales(if you haven't disabled it). If you remove the permission, the service will start with the first app-launch.
Im going to start a new thread in the app-section in a few hours. Feel free to give me some feedback there.

Hi there,
Dev here. I'm not forcing you to pay to use the app. You may use the app for free. Finding apps is a manual process and takes time. Servers, writers, finders and Web devs are not free. A lot more goes into it than you might think. If you want to support my work then feel free to buy me a soda. If not, go ahead and use the app for free. But I don't appreciate you insinuating that I'm forcing anyone to do anything. The pro version adds a few nifty features and isn't solely a donate version. There are features in there that even the Google Play store doesn't provide. As for the faster loading, I think that it is pretty obvious that things load faster when there are no ads. In the end though, I appreciate every purchase. I'm not mad or anything, just wanted to clear things up.
But seriously, I use my own app all the time and I can proudly say that nearly 90% of all the apps I have installed are 100% tablet optimized. And they are all from Tablified Market HD. App selection isn't as big of an issue for me anymore. I hope it helps you guys out too.
Hope you guys try out my app.

Cheers!

Support the developers and buy apps. I'm sure you get enough here on XDA for free dude. Remind yourself that we all do this in our own time and a couple bucks for a donate app isn't too bad considering everything else we get for free.
P.S- There is no force of payment for any app. Its your choice to pay for it or not.
What about removing all posts, that are irrelevant to "N10 optimized apps", including this post? Thread looks ugly, seriously.
are there apps that have been specifically updated as being optimized for the N10 at this point? I hear items updated for the N7 or for 4.2 but haven't seen any for the N10
