Youtube app choppy...laggy - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Anyone notice there youtube videos being a bit choppy or laggy? I notice micro lag on my s4...but im wondering if its just that this version of youtube isnt optimized for the s4 or if its the phone.

Are you using the eye detection for pausing videos?

Nope...that setting was annoying me..I turned it off...and 90% of all the other features. Just watching youtube normally...its not horrible but coming from my s3 I notice it.

I have noticed this. Can rarely watch a video from start to finish without it stopping at least twice.

[Q] Sound lag in games?

I have notice that a lot of games on my Vibrant experience sound lag, like for example if you hit a wall in Raging Thunder 2 Lite you won't hear the sound hitting the wall right away, there is a slight delay.. Is this normal?
Nobody notice this?

what music app are you running? If you have any running process that is locking down the speakers that will explain the lag.

Live video effects in ICS

Hi All, I've just noticed that when I take a video with the live video effects on and then try to play it back, the video is glitchy. The top of the video seems to freeze and then stutter..
Just me or has anyone else got this issue?

Laggy pop-up play

When I use pop-up play with self captured vids it makes my phone lag quite a bit which renders the feature pretty useless imo. Why is this? And is it even normal?

Also, when I push the vid in the corner (so a little part isn't shown) the lag goes away completely. It doesn't get better when the part not shown is bigger. The behaviour isn't present at all when using the example vid. Also I'm on the stock LFB rom.

Ok it has something to do with the vid being 1080p otherwise it wont happen, but as only the slightest part of the vid has to be covered by the edge of the screen it shouldn't be a matter of processing power. It has to be some kind of bug. Can anyone else confirm this bug?

I don't really like that app. I prefer the stock one. Also, the video itself doesn't lag but my phone does while playing it. For example while swiping trough apps or homescreens. But only with 1080p as I said.

No lag here, currently writing this while watching a self captured 1080p vid, which rom/kernel are you on?

I really hope the jelly bean update will fix this.
i am running the i747 north american galaxy s3. I get almost the same symptoms. It will lag with any video, but if i put a little bit of the edge off screen then it stops lagging. I have tried the jellybean leaks and pop up play runs perfectly smooth so it seems like it is something to do with the vsync.

YouTube stutters with hd

I have a 2.0.6 OTA DNA and when ever using YouTube I get some pretty bad stutter iv turned on 2d gpu rendering and it helped some what. Is it just the app it has updated recently? If I download the video with tubemate in 1080p it runs fine so I'm starting to think it's just what ever renderer the YouTube app uses.

I've had the same issue with audio being fine but video does lag. I've also had it take forever to start the video and I have a 30mb/s internet

i wonder if its something i have disabled (frozen) that's causing it. Have you guys frozen anything or have you left all sense stuff intact?
EDIT: got a call and used speaker phone after that it's butter smooth hmm lol.

Music Playback problem

Hi guys,
I'm having horrible time with my s3 international version ever since I have upgraded to 4.1+. The issue is music player stutters while playing audio. It doesn't happen with video paybacks but only with music. It constantly stutters for a second or two like a broken cd or something. I can't believe a quad core processor can't handle background music playback! Can you please help? It's driving me crazy!

Did you hard reset after updating?

If using custom kernel then try changing governor... I prefer pegasusq... It happens mostly with the governors which take cpu into deep sleep very fast like zzmoove...
If you are using viper4android then also sane thing could solve that problem...
If not then there is a thread in general section or here only try searching that.. Many users have been experiencing this problem after updating to 4.3...
Sent from my GT-I9300
Latest stock 4.3 cures most sleep issues, although I never had that problem on 4.1

I am running stock 4.3 non rooted! Should I give it to Samsung? I can't understand how Samsung released such a bad software update!!
