[Mod] Long Menu Press to Kill and 4 Way Reboot - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

As the title suggests this is just a simple mod that gives you long press menu to kill and 4 way reboot. I'm personally running deodexed so no clue if it will work on stock odexed. Credits to blulite for the 4 way reboot and BigDogPooh for the menu to kill, all I did was combine the two for are phone.

Odex downlad thanks to hlxanthus : http://goo.im/devs/hlxanthus/GS4/4WayBoot-MenuKills_odex.zip

Am i missing something? I'm running stock deodexed with a few bloat files removed manually. I flashed this through TWRP and i have no change the menu behavior. Power options are the same and long press menu gives me Google Now. Did i miss something.

Sounds to me like you we using it from the launcher and that's the way it's suppose to work. Would be pretty silly to kill your launcher.

+1 for creating an Odexed version

Not sure why you guys insist on odex versions of everything. Just flash a deodex build and be done with it.

Many folks don't want to flash a custom ROM just to get one simple mod.

This. Don't feel like reflashing my entire ROM just to get a simple reboot menu

So instead of simply downloading the ROM and taking the 2 minutes it takes to flash, you'd rather take more time and go around to every thread and ask for odex versions of everything? That makes no sense at all.

Yes and Glad this can help you! :good:
Flashed his 23 toggles & the boot menu and although I was able to boot still, SystemUI no longer ran. I had to flash back. Stock JB -- not Nun's deodexed.
And, yes, I see that the post says it's for deodexed only. But I figured I'd give it a shot. The thread also says it's for the Skyrocket.
Edit: I'm a glutton for punishment. I went back and flashed only the powermenu one, and all it managed to do was remove the ripples from my lockscreen. My power and reboot menus were still the same.

Thanks alot for posting this one but it doesnt seem to work on the KIES thru ODIN release ( I even tried re-naming my .odex files to get the deodexed files to work)..too bad as this mod makes a stock rom much more user friendly!
Thanks for this. The extended power menu is worth the d/l. This will help until a good rom is developed.

Edit: this also gives you an app to choose toggles and whst order to show them.

Did you click the modem download by accident possibly?
How did you know.. Lol!
OP should put the modem way down the post
I got mine working now.. Power menu, toggles, and I added battery icons from UOT Kitchen.
I just wish some of them devs would take the "Notification Panel" from SGS3+ / Note2
Like this:
Thanks a bunch! I needed this. Works great on Nuns JB zip.
Official? So it works on official releases? Or it works on unofficial releases of the official release? Lol
This mod has a bug. Try opening something that does not have a default application.
It will show "Phone" and "Headphones" buttons
instead of
"Always" and "Just Once"
The problem here is the thread by the OP is for a different system that uses a different framework-res.apk than ours.

Is it possible to speed up the multitasking switcher? It has some annoying delay. Or even change it to the stock android one?

It looks almost the same.
The multitasking switcher in this ROM is slow to come up. Like pretty laggy.
So if anyone really hates the lag on the multitasking. Switching to ART definitely helps.
It seems the lag is because its waiting for a long press for the menu. Hmm. I tried disabling it with an xposed module but that doesn't help. Although apparently the s5 active is fine because that has all buttons needed.

Yeah, I know.. Just figured it out.
It must be a fix they applied to the active ROM that doesn't make it wait so long.
Might just install a custom ROM and get it over with and see how that helps.

I honestly think it's just down to the standard TW lag. When I have one or two apps open, there isn't any lag in opening the switcher. It's only when I have a ton open that it lags for me. You have no idea how much I want the GPE S5 to come out so we can get CM and everything else working.

It had to be something I did in the course of removing apks and modifying the stock ROM. I had an issue with MMS I was trying to figure out and dirty flashed the same ROM I'm using to replace anything mistakenly removed. The option appeared after that.
