Capacitive Pen - Xperia Tablet Z Accessories

I know i can't go wrong with wacon but its not rocket science there dont thin'k spending 50$ ( thats how much they cost here) is right.
On the other hand 1$ that i got and worked ok with my phone doesn't work with XTZ (registers a stright line as series of dots...).
So yea middle of the road....

Cali-for-nyee-aayyy Love, brah.
Oh! when I saw your hd2. I think we should double take care of our HD2.
Thats nothing this is what i did to mine:
Lucky seen as i had insurance so i got it a new phone to replace it
have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613954&page=24
You're not the first and not the last either, I bet. It happened to me too and I fixed it myself using the tips found on XDA.
The best one being getting a complete unit (LCD + Digitizer) and not just the screen.
I paid about 100 € on Ebay for the unit, came in about 3 dayx with the special tools shown on the leaked HTC video tutorial.
If I managed to do it, anyone can, believe me

Hello,
as far as I know HTC charge about 180 € ...
But you can have it repaired cheaper when you looking arround and find a local phone store.
I know what you must feel
@ceh01:
must say that pattern on yours is best so far
Hi,
HTC quoted £120 to repair the glass.
4 more month until i'm due an upgrade
Wondering if its worth it....
:S
man, some pretty bad looking screens here. i was soooo lucky with mine the other week. i was in the shed when i knocked my leo off the bench and it landed face down on the concrete, i well an truely shat my pants. god knows how or why but i got away with a tiny tiny crack in the top left corner, it really is so small its miniscule but i'll still probably blag a new screen through the bank insurance about a month before im due to upgrade.........

screen broke after fall

just as the thread says, my phone hit the ground and the inside part of the screen cracked (not the surface). What options do i have that wont rape my wallet?
Unless you have the ability to open it and fix it your self or a warranty still in place, I'll say just buy a new phone, though the vibrant is a sexy phone, I doubt you will find it.
This video explains and shows everything, how to do it...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLUl9tlHSik
If you visit the store from the people who made the video, you will also find replacement parts...but...from my experience with Iphone repairs, they are totally overpriced...try to google for other shops...or try ebay.
At least you see it is possible...
Ok forget it, obviously Samsung won't sell any AMOLED screens to third parties till 2012, means, the replacement screens you might be able to buy are not really OEM and AMOLED...so be aware...at least thats what I all found out using google.
so my options are thin basically.. this sucks, i mean i could send it to samsung for $161 repair but **** man, i just can't afford the repair right now, been driving me nuts for the last two days
Did you have a case on it? If you're accident prone, an otterbox can save you from most falls as long as that fall isn't screen-first onto a big metal spike.
Yeah, not much you can do about the screen. However, used Vibrants are all over eBay ranging from $250 all the way down to a full working one for $160 from a 100% seller with many many sales (AKA reasonably reliable).
My condolences either way. Breaking the screen is one of my biggest fears.

Getting a Flyer.....

Hello,
I recently gave my Nook to my brother. I am looking for a new tablet, preferably before 6th grade starts in 2 weeks. I have found a great deal on the Flyer, but I'm worried about some other things:
Where can I get the best deal for a pen, $60 or less?
Is the Notes app sufficient enough to take notes and do some math?
Can the Flyer's battery last through the day on medium brightness, and maybe last if I forget to charge when I get home?
Is there anything I can do to make it work better in school?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies - very much appreciated.
You could probably find a pen on ebay. I purchased a pen but rarely use it. The notes application is nice and I use it for work in my meetings but it does leave a little to be desired. I would think the pen and notes app would be decent for math.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
you should have got it last week
it came with the flyer for free at best buy
Right. I'll look into the pen later. Thanks for the feedback. Now I have a bigger problem:
I got outbid $5 more than my $370 bid and I was sleeping when it happened. So I lost the deal of a lifetime. Anyplace I can get a new Flyer, $400 or less?
Thanks.

Craigslist or ebay will be your best "go to" places for that price range.

Only participate in eBay auctions for which you can be online during the last 5-10 minutes of the auction. Otherwise you will be outbid every time. Its called sniping, and its a sad fact of online auctions. At least he outbid you by a real amount, $5. And not some infuriating amount like 50 cents or a dollar.
6th graders are using tablets at school now? I really am getting old.
I personally feel the pen and note taking functions work quite well. It takes a bit to get accustomed to, its not exactly the same feel (accuracy, very slight delay) as a real paper and pen. But once you get used to it, its a great tool. I really like how my notes are automatically synched to my PC and smartphone. So no forgetting your notebook when you need the notes. On the other hand, the "dog ate my homework" excuse goes out the window for you!
Another cool function, is the ability to take a photo or video and embed it right in your notes. I think that would be pretty handy for taking a pic of the teacher's blackboard/whiteboard. Although half the benefit of taking notes, is that writing the notes yourself actually helps you learn and remember.
Fujitsu stylus
Some people reported that they can use Fujitsu tablet stylus with their Flyer. It can be bought for about $30. You can search on the XDA.
It's annoying they charge extra for the pen (I got it for free included when I got mine from Sprint) ... but given the accuracy of the pen and the buttons on it... It's really good and honestly worth it.
I LOVE the Flyer, but in all seriousness, without the pen... You might as well look at another tablet. That's not to say the pen makes the tablet, on its own it's a good piece of hardware...But...You really could do better. You don't "need" it, but you "should" have it. Otherwise, I could see how you might potentially regret your purchase.

Why get a dock? From the perspective of someone who did NOT want one..

OK... i know here are already like 3 threads on why or why not to get a dock... but i dont think there is one witht he kind of perspective I can provide... since I did not want to get a dock in the first place... and I am even considering returning my prime cause some of the defects. Anyways, for starters... who is this writer (The Perspective)
I own a prime, with slight light bleed... I believe the wifi is kind of weak, I am concerned of the possible BT wifi dropout (yet have not tested), and am bummed that a possibly better transformer has already been announced.
I work on The IT field, use a very heavy laptop (alienware m17x) cause i am a gamer. I have had to work while on the road, a cruise ship, even at disneyworld (dont ask). I have had to sue my cellphone to do work as well. In fact, part of the android tablet allure is to help with work while on the road... yet again, i already got gadgets to help with that.
So why a transformer prime? Pure and simple.. processing power and games... end of story.
Anyways, i though the concept of the keyboard was dumb. Heck the Android onscreen keyboard is good enough. Why go get one?
Well, my first temptation was during a wordcamp meeting (is a web designer thing), where I saw a guy taking notes in a macbook air, and i tried to do the same on my tablet... and it was impractical. In fact, after 30 minuted f trying to take notes on a lecture, I gave up... i just could not keep up... and nope, even with swipe it sucked.
Then I though, damn, i bet the keyboard makes the tablet alsmost like a mac air... but for 150 bucks..damn!!!! But then came second temptation (the USB adapter for the prime is like 50 bucks, a good bt keyboard at least 35 bucks, a protective case is 35 and one of those charge it on the go enlarged batteries like 40 buck), so it was not such a bad deal.... besides i had something I had ore credit, so I only needed to shell out 40 buck... so I bit the bullet. And this is what I have learned.
Having the keyboard makes it really easy to do work with the prime. in fact typing this is ALOT easier. Having arrow keys too edit what I misspell is golden... just arrow back and edit. I bet with splashtop it will be awesome as well. And by the way, whne you blug a mouse on the USB port, web surfing is incredible... its really good to be finally be able to hover over a pop up menu and see the options!!!! and to just roll the mouse wheel to scroll down a page. And since the dock and tablet combo is so slim, i can see it coming with me on my next vacation.
NOW, dont take me wrong. I know that everything I have mentioned are exactly the reasons why you get a laptop... not a tablet! But lets be honest. I use my tablet while siting on the couch in the living room, or next to my bed, or to play games.... but if I ever decided to do real work with the tablet (trust me, my heavy laptop is not practical all the time or that, plus powering up, etc... takes forever)... the normal tablet form factor is lacking and that is the truth.
So I can see why I would in the end get a dock. In fact, I got one thinking that if i dont ike it,ill return it with my prime... and perhaps later the the t700 or else an ipad 3. But now, after the dock experience, I can say I dont think I would be happy with an ipad 3 if it had no dock. And in fact, now i am even struggling with the fact of returning my partially defective prime (light bleed, weak wifi, and useless gps). I know I only paid 40 bucks in the end (yet I could have spent the credit on something else). But if the dock is strong enough to make me EVEN consider not returning the prime...then there is something to be said about it.
I still do not know what I am going to do. All I know, that from a person who at first thought the DOCK was Junk, Now I think differently, and truly understand what the transformer was meant for... not to be just a good tablet, but something more.

How's this part working out for you?
j/k
A keyboard to go with your screen really is incredibly useful which is why there are so many 3rd party keyboard options for the iPad.
The fact that Asus makes one that nearly doubles battery life, adds a USB port & SD Card slot, protects the tablet screen when closed and acts like a stand when watching a movie is just incredible. I don't understand all the keyboard hate related to this device, if you don't want a keyboard don't buy one.

Exactly I own a powerful gaming desktop and a really old heavy 17inch hp laptop which I would never bring to school ever.. I have wake on lan setup on my desktop and splashtop works wonderful (it will be better when splashtop thd is released) so I can access my desktop anywhere anytime and if I do not have Wifi I can tether with my HTC evo 4g (soon to be galaxy nexus)
These 3 devices will satisfy every need of mine
Desktop for gaming ect.
Prime for web browsing and more gaming /notes in school
Phone for tethering being lazy and texting!
3 devices work for me I was in the same boat I did not want the dock I originally bought it only to sell it on ebay for a profit but I was tempted and had to open it

How much can i sell the GS2 for ?

Hey guys i have Galaxy s2 it is about 5 months OLD (black color 16gb model) (unlocked)
perfect condition
only 1 tiny scratch next to speaker which is barely visible.
1) it is rooted
2) reseted download count with JIG
3) has invisible shield on front only
4) with 16gb memory card
i might either put it on ebay or here on xda i will need to decide
the reason i want to sell is because im switching to verizon... at&t in my area sucks
and i cant handle having 0 bars changing to 1 or 2 max.
Thanks guys!
your best bet is to go on ebay and check how much other people put the price at. and adjust yours roughly somewere in the middle. or google it and normally they give you a whole punch of pages full of results on the price of second hand phones. Not sure how much this would be in US dollars but now second hand phone in England would go from 250 pounds min to about 400 pounds if not more for our s2.
but like i said check on ebay how much other users roughly price there ones and adjust yours to that

250 pounds would be around 400$ US
well ebay has only 1 auction for 'used'
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...-i91000&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
and it starts with bids. Would 400$ be good ? that is perfectly fine with me.

i would start a bit lower and then leave the auction run for say a week. that way more people will get interested and then you will see in the last couple of days that the offers will rise and you probs get the price you want hope i helped out
