look at this thread.
or
1. Unlock bootloader using the key from Sony: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
2. Use the root toolkit by Bin4ry: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
3. Install kernel with CWM for SGP312 from this thread (at this point the installed superuser denies permission to all apps)
4. Get flashable CWM superuser from here: http://download.clockworkmod.com/superuser/superuser.zip (thanks Koush!)
5. Boot into CWM recovery and flash CWM superuser
6. Run fix permissions in CWM
7. Reboot
All done

Yes!

Am also interested how to root this version of Android. Have tried DooMLoRDs Easy Rooting Toolkit and Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v30. Does not work.

Try using Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v29. Some say v30 is glitchy.

[Q] Can't root xperia neo

i tried to root my xperia neo with latest zerg rush but i can't. Screen shoot shows what zergrush says. can some 1 help?
You can't root GB with build number .62.
Check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21912336
Dude, check here. Did you prepare your phone with everything? How about you check to see if your phone has BusyBox or Superuser installed. If it does, it is rooted.
You can't directly root 0.62 unless your bootloader's unlocked!

you cant root with this baseband and android 2.3 one way is to first unlock bootloader and then try or other method is to flash nightelf kernel for 2.3 by flashtool then you be getting cwm then you can download the rootxperia.zip and put it in your sd card and go in cwm and install it thats the only way of getting it rooted with locked bootloader
dont forget to press the thanks button:fingers-crossed:
Baseband has absolutely nothing to do with root process.
And stop begging for thanks!
EDIT: and your second way is related with first way. You can't flash custom kernel without unlocking bl, and only unlocking bl won't make it rootable itself.
Unlock the bootloader, flash the recovery neo img file.. And then boot into CWM and flash root xperia zip!
And now you are rooted!
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
Use flashtool and flash .42 firmware, then root and then OTA update to .62.
Look in the forum, there are different threats about how to root the different firmware versions.

Can you tell me where to get the shutter WiFi, Bluetooth etc?
As far as I recall there is no way as of yet to root .253 without unlocking bootloader.

You can use Kingo Root app, then use file in attachment to replace Kingo root app to SuperSU. But I am not responding for any damage. (but for me it worked well).
This is probably easiest way (for me )
Flash this in recovery after installing recovery.

King root says it doesnt have aroot for my phone
You can do this from phone.
Just go to settings > about and tap 7 times at build number, then go to Developer settings and enable USB debbuging. Now download Kingo Root app, install and launch it and continue.
If evertything goes well (without errors) you can install recovery, eg. Nut's dual recovery and switch to SuperSU (highly recommended!) with this zip:

Problem with ROOTING Xperia M4 Aqua

I cannot root my phone...
I did everything from that thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/recovery-twrp-command-line-t3198973
I even unlocked bootloader before attempting to root my phone
SuperSU Free cannot update binary code.
Tried to use Kingo ROOT - failure.
Is there any possibility to uninstall that SuperSU app? or go to state before my rooting attempt ?
My model is E2303. Bought at Argos SIM free phone

There is the option in the SuperSU settings called "Full unroot" try that, OR
Best thing is to backup your data and Flash the stock Rom again,

Do you have link to Original stock Xperia M4 Aqua Rom?
Do you have any idea why rooting failed?
I did everything from tutorial (link mentioned in my 1st message)
EDIT:
I tried to go to SuperSU and did Full unroot. After rebooting SuperSU is still showing message that it couldn't update binary code.

yes.
1. Downgrade (if youre using the .167 to .112)
2. Flash root through adb
3. Flash recovery through adb
4. Build pre-rooted upgrade zip
5. Flash with recovery
6. Now you're on .167 with root and bootloader locked.

Nice! Thanks
I have xperia m aqua e2353 with 26.1.A.2.167
I already downgraded to 112 and was able to root.
I want to flash .167
From the instructions, it says "build pre-rooted upgrade zip". I can't find a step-by-step procedure on doing this. Do I have to have a 167 ftf and use flash tool to extract kernel?
Sorry, new on M4....

This is how I did it with mine I included the rooting process too.
1.) Download flashtool and install all the drivers that is provided by flashtool (They're in the Flashtool/drivers folder in your C drive, I believe) In order to install the drivers, you have to disable windows 8 or 10's driver signature verification (to do that, open up settings then click "update and recovery then click the "recovery" option then click "advanced reboot" I don't know if the process is the same for Windows 8 though).
2.) Download the .112 firmware using XpeiraFirm (It's included in flashtool. You can use the commercial and Journalists one).
3.) Backup your data. (Text messages, call logs, music, photos).
4.) Flash the firmware using flash tool.
5.) If you lost your imei after the downgrade process, go ahead and do a factory reset. (It's somewhere in settings.).
6.) Download the rootkit and the TWRP(custom recovery) installer from this guide. Place them in the folder where you have the ADB and fastboot executable and then run the rootkit first then run the TWRP installer after.
7.) If you wish to update your firmware, just refer to the link in number 6 as there, you'll find the pre-rooted zip which you can use to update your phone to the latest firmware.
Good luck!
