Favorite AOSP Rom? (LS v. Carbon) - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hey People,
Simple question - What is your favorite AOSP rom? I am currently running Carbon, but am having some occasional reboot issues (Komodo 1.5 and Volt Script). I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the most stable AOSP is in their opinion. Im looking for the best battery life + Stability, don't really need a ton of customization.

Slimbean Rom is awesome.

CM or stock ?

hi all
just wondering which do you prefer and why ?
stock or cm ?
i prefer cm more since it has more features ...how bout you?
cm for more options , battery life
If you want to go to work safely and foremost a stock, with cf-root b84fix and OC and a2sd.

Overall -cm. For me battery life lasted longer in cm than stock. And obviously features add to it.

CM Permission management is the biggest selling point, I love the fact that is integrated and no need to install extra apps or modify apks, plus the 640*480 video recording, last time I checked stock only lets you record video at 320*480, then of course the pletora of additional features and the coolness level
nice idea to make a poll like this
Definitely cm!

my opinion
CM!
Why? (This is just my opinion, i don't wanna pi** anybody off with this.)
Stock has some samsung-only apps like "AllShare" etc. but i dont care about these.
And it has its own contacts browser which supports quick call/sms by swiping over the contact. i really love that feature, but the pros of cm are alot more:
- its looks better (menu effects from ics etc.)
- it has awesome customization options
- it has the theme chooser <3
- and the most important thing: it defo runs faster/better!
i prefer stock based roms

i love cm but can`t install in my galaxy pro,no custom flash recovery anywhere
Stock with CF-Root b84.
it seems cm is more desired than stock ...still what's the upside for stock?
CM7 More speed and better Performance and better Settings
i wait for CM9 Beta
(Custom) Stock. Full stability and more comfortable for daily usage.

stock FTW
for me its modified stock... Ive tried loads of roms and so far omega rocks my world and my phone....
there's some kind of magic when you revert from CM to stock... you know... all working as they should, you have the assurance that your phone won't give up on you. The thing is though after a few minutes on stock and having tried CM you miss lots of things which I can't be bothered to mention now.
So CM for me!
yea...once i use cm and tried back to stock ( based rom) it feels rather odd ...and limited =(

+1 Omega, then maybe FAT or vo-1 CMs for the most stable, if you wanna go wild wild west, then definitely try Maclaw's CM9, Lewa, MIUI by TeamCooper and any other you see currently being updated. Lost of action going on here right now.
I would recommend infinity v2 from and omega from for best performance and stability

So,
+2 vote for Omega
+1 vote for Radon Mod
+1 vote for infinity v2
I dont want to do crazy things. Just daily using, internet and gaming thats all
Thank you very much for everybody for the answers, i am going to try them one by one in time. First with Omega i guess
+1 cm7.2 KANG by vo-1
The new omega rom v3 is super fast. It can b overclocked to 902 Mhz and it is stable too. So +2 omega rom v3

[Q] Cyanogen or MIUI or Stock?

Which one do you like? CyanogenMod/ MIUI/ Replicant/ OMGB or stock?
P.S: You can add your opinions, ideas, etc.
Anything other than stock.

I like MIUI, I've tested MIUI Spain and MIUI Scotland.
The last one is very, very good but these days is closing :-(
Now I'm looking for a good on to my SGS (GT-I9000). Any recommendation?
MIUI for customisation and look.
CM for speed and performance
stock for stability.
each one has its own + and - . so its all personal preference.

MIUI, but I'm currently on ICS stock because the MIUIv4 ports for my device are buggy as hell. I just wish stock had the icon consistency/theming that MIUI has, its the only thing I miss.

Currently CyanogenMod, because of my Xperia X8 is not supported by MIUI and Stock crashes a lot. So CyanogenMod. I actually use a ROM based on CyanogenMod called GingerDX by Doixanh, because of the stock CyanogenMod wants FreeXperia kernel and errors occurred when I was doing it (actually I was trying to flash NobodyAtAll's nAa kernel) and I tried on my Galaxy 5 (now it is my sister's)(Galaxy 5= GT-I5500), it worked after flashing the correct baseband on ODIN Multi Downloader.
I would go with MIUI if there was a working from with no bugs. So atm I'm using ICS

I love CyanogenMod which I was using in my previous phone....but unfortunately they didn't make a port for SGS+ yet!!! Hope they will make one soon!!

What ROM do you use on your Nexus One?
Another vote for CM due to it's tweakability.
Personal favourites can be found only by testing, testing and testing.
I'd try CM, but it requires an unlocked bootloader, which voids warranty, and disables me from using OTA updates. :/
Same reason as Mattyas: Tweakability.
I like CM to, but unfortunately they didn't make one yet for alcatel ot-990 :-(
I have used it on my Tattoo that I had and it was great. I am still searching for at least some customisations that are on cm.

MIUI = Customizable and better redesigned look.
CM7 = Stock Android look (with exception of Theme Chooser themes) but greater performance and stability.
CM7 always ran much smoother and faster for me but I always loved MIUI's UI. I stick with CM7 just because it is always stable and reliable. HTC Passion (Google Nexus One).
hv tried stock based,cm based n miui based roms for sometime. all of them hv been stable n gud.
but i like miui cos of its customisation. each themes gives a new look to my fone. m jus lovin it

I have used all three types and I have liked things from all of them and found fault in all the same. It all just came down to what I liked the most for what I wanted/needed.
I use mainly MIUI as I love the thousands of custom themes that are easily mixed and matched.
In the end it is always up to what you feel is the right one for you. The best advice I can give you is to try each one for a week and after that you should have a good idea of which one is best for you.
one do you like? CyanogenMod/MIUI
MIUI. I haven't updated to MIUI v4 because I like the theming too much, and there aren't many themes compatible with MIUI ICS.
I've actually been on MIUI for almost a year.

Stock on my Xperia X8 Crashes, Original MIUI doesn't support X8 (There are ports on XDA for X8) and I have tried MIUI on My Uncle's HD2 (but not MIUIv4) (he is not from blood, just for respect and he works at my dad's office) and CyanogenMod wants FreeXperia Kernel and I am using a ROM Called GingerDX, which is based on CyanogenMod 7.1 (and available for the Stock Kernel). So currently CyanogenMod, reasons: Tweaks, themes, etc. (I just like it).
P.S: If I was unfair, then I'm sorry.

Ultimate HD 3.0.2 with CTC kernel..best choice..for ics
Just try Superleggera v5 odexed, because you will end up with that Rom anyway sooner or later
Sent from my ST18i using xda app-developers app
Optimax currently the best stable/fast/functional ICS stockbased with AOSP look.
...I cant stand sony framework theme...
definitely I would recommend Superleggera v5 for ICS with CTC kernel / VDS kernel / Advanced Stock.
I tried all the roms, and came back Superleggera v5 after one / one an half week.
Apart from that, you can try (based on most days I have used) Iced Bin 3.5, optimax, zelly cream
If you don't mind native camera issue / hd video recording..
come to CM10 (jelly bin) with fusion kernel + Super jelly bin 4.0. It will throw ICS in terms of smoothness and multitasking..
If you want great speed, great stability, great camera and great multitasking try vleutmans's GB Rom (Illuminative)
Anyway: The best ROM on ICS is totally depending on your needs.
Personally i like plain and simple roms, which are optimized for performance, so i can play games too without lags.
Some people like themed roms, so the Ray looks like an experia Z for example.
Its so difficult to say what is the "best" ROM as all developers do their utter best to make their ROM "the best" in any way.
Then if all roms are "good" you could check all their threads about "remaining bugs" which could be in your way.
The best thing is to take a few weeks off (holiday) , live on coffee and junkfood and flash as many ROMS as you can to check out for yourself
Br.
Michel
my personal favorite is Optimax very stable ICS rom with the combination of looks and performance

Nothing more to say I tried almost every ICS ROM here and everytime I went back to Superleggera, cause that ROM is the best - fastest and lightest + arcatarc (developer of Superleggera) is very kind person
This is y I want a report button on xda app.....
There is nothing as best or stable rom...
Every user has his own taste ..
Try a couple of roms and decide for urself wheich is good for u...

OP, first this does not belong in the Development threads....Please read the Forum Rules on posting.
The best/stable ROM is something you need to figure out, what is best for me will not be best for you....Thank You.

[Q] Best Battery Roms for Samsung galaxy s3

Hi There,
I presently have CM11 Rom for which sucks some how in when it comes down to battery but it's super fast. Are there any other custom Roms for GTI9300 other than CM.
I also have another basic query what is the difference between a rom and a kernel..does kernel add anything to the battery life?
Can i add custom kernels to custom roms??If so can i add custom kernel to the existing CM11 to improve battery life ??
Thanks and looking forward to the answer!

I will try to answer but i am not a pro you know . CM based roms are prety same with battery life so you can try TouchWiz based Roms-i think they are better for battery life so you can try for example Back to noot,Blekota S5,S5 Sensation ROM or read a little bit over xda-section roms.i hope i wrote something usefull.cheers
Paranoid Android is very good for battery life, and a good rom for daily driver.
But now I am using ArchiDroid, it's very fast. Faster than CM.

Sammy try Neat rom and Boeffla kernel.
AOSP try Cm12.1 with Boeffla NG kernel.
Am using Blekota's Note 4 ROM, with Boeffla here, am getting around 20 to 30 hours, depending on my usage on a given day. Whether you think that's good or not depends on what you're expecting, but I am happy with that.
Also the ROM is Samy based, so I get all basic features, the most important for me being Bluetooth, which never works on my i9300 with AOSP ROMs. Touchwizz I don't use anyway, have Nova Launcher
