I am running jb stock ! I just don't need some apps ! How can I remove them ? Another kernel ? Aroma FM? I don't have proper root access I guess ! The superuser app is installed but won't update ! Any help would be appreciated

Adb won't mount ! It says failed ! Can you explain ?

In ICS you can use TWRP to mount the partitions and delete the apk + .odex using the file manager in TWRP recovery. It must work for the recovery you are using in JB.

On ICS you can use custom kernel to remove write protection, like nexus Kernel or prototype Kernel. On JB, we don't have kernel sources yet so you have to do this in recovery with aroma or file manager in TWRP.

If you are rooted, it's best to flash sympnotic's patched market (in wildfire development thread) as it has been patched to the updated market (v2.2.6).

v5.2 = market 2.12 (latest "old theme", for people finding v6 unstable / ugly / etc...)
v6 = latest (market v2.2.6, using Carousel theme, etc..)

Go Sym's post, and dl the zip file. Put it on sd card, boot to recovery and select flash zip.
Reboot and test it. You might want to make a nandroid backup, just to be safe.

You must have neXusKernel with ICS to disable write protection. Or just use modules but only for ICS.

In recovery - something like mount & storage - mount system
(I can't remember well for CWM based recovery as I'm more on TWRP)

Which hboot do you have?
xpirt
i think its ICS cos its 1.24. Its the one which is attached to nexusPrime's MIUI 3.22 ROM.
You need to update your hboot to jb version (1.25), because boot partition from ICS hboot is too small for jb kernel. That's why you get the error.

How do I do that?

Whats your CID?
HTC_044
Sent from my HTC Desire X using xda app-developers app
You have the same CID as me and ckpv5.
Do these steps.
Flash an ICS version TWRP or CWM recovery.
Restore NANDroid Backup uploaded by ckpv5 which matches your software revision number.
Flash Stock recovery.img and stock Boot.img
Then reboot to ROM and it will be stock.
You will then receive and OTA update notification on your stock ROM. Do the update and it will automatically update your hboot to 1.25.002 and JB rom.
After that, you can flash the custom JB roms and boots.
Regards
Yasir
IF ANY DOUBT in ANY STEP, search google, and ask in thread, if still more help needed, dont panic and PM me.
