First sorry for my poor English. I'm new on this forum although I'm registered in it a month ago. I've been reading and trying to understand all before posting this post.
I'm using this CM10.1 on my ST5570 (S. Galaxy Mini) and want change Trebuchet Launcher system launcher with NOVA launcher on this release. I can't post on the thread linked above because I haven't yet permissions to do this.
Any help will be appreciated!!

Install Nova, than in Titanium Backup delete Trebuchet (i think this is the name of the launsher app), or after install the Nova go to any file explorer (for example ES File Explorer) with root permission, and delete the app from there (/system/app/Trebuchet.apk).

you probably should leave trebuchet on it, in case you accidently remove nova, when there's no launcher you can't use the phone

I have few questions, I don't know if they have been allready answered, I tried searching but with no luck....anyway:
1. Is it possible to extract installation files of app. I downloaded from Android market so I can store themn on PC,so I don't have to download them every time I hard reset my phone.
2. How to export/import Opera Mobile 10.1 bookmarks.
3. Is it possible to disable option in home screen "tap and hold" to add more widgets, because I often excedently keep messing up order of widgets in my pocket and even when I scrool with finger.
4. How to uninstall or at least delete icons in menu of preinstalled demo games and apps.

You can use Root Explorer and have your phone rooted so you can delete the apps you dont need or copy them from system to sdacard and of course their icon will disappear.
Search in forum about root and deleting apps.

Uhmm... They r not the same, titanium is like an app manager and root explorer is a explorer, like astro. Yes, you can uninstall with titanium but for unintalling system apps or those that come by default you may need to be root. Havent tried to do it with titanium without been root but it think that you need to have your phone rooted. Just try it if it doesnt work you will have to root to delete those apps :S
And.. Why u dont whant to root?

2nd.i don't want to root because I don't think I would be able to install updates from sonyericsson any more and I kinda have a bad past after playing with original system files in my ex-phone :-D.

with rooted phone, to uninstall some DEMO SE apps. and games is it enough to go to /system/apps and delete .apk files that I don't need or is there some more files and folders that belong to those apps. I want to delete....
Yea, delete the apps from /system/app and restart your phone. After that go to Phone settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications, you will see some apps with default icons, and default names like "com.android.****" - uninstall them, and there you go. Nothing left. You can also start Titanium Backup, and clear app cache to be 100% sure that nothing is left in the memory.

I current flashed the litening rom and it gives me launcher pro as default launcher
and i removed it by deleting the lancherpro apk file using ROOT EXPLORER as I downloaded the launcherpro plus and tried to install it with astro but it says: application not installed! any idea?
Dodgy apk maybe? Make sure LP is uninstalled correctly in applications.

Did you reboot in between the two tasks? Sometimes it requires a reboot. Also before deleting the original did you make something else as your default launcher (ie TW)?
do u have the standard launcher (tw launcher) still installed?

I'm using Dophin Browser, ADW.Launcher EX and others and I'm freaking when after every reboot I must check to use Dolphin as default. How to remove system internet app and replace it with Dolphin? Tried replacing the browser.apk in system/app and it doesn't work. I still can use system internet app. What I am doing wrong?

delete whatever you want to delete from /system/app which you dont want like browser.apk twlauncher.apk
they will never bug you..
beware while deleting as you are doing on your own risk as they are system files..
deleting something unintentional will leave you with only one option and that will be REFLASH or beg for that file from someone else
I deleted browser.apk and browser.odex (I'm using CM 7.1 by Grif_07) and adw.launcher.apk(without ex) and yes, Internet apk disappeared but ADW Launcher (without EX) still existed. Now every app after launching gives me fc. I'm getting apps back from backup.

After restoring browser.apk and .odex I'm not getting fc anymore(on FriendCaster and my national communicator), but how browser.apk and .odex can affect on FriendCaster app?

you installed other launcher before removing adw and activating it as default??

As this launcher has limited number of customizations i want it to be replaced by the Apex launcher.
How to delete the Trebuchet launcher and replace it with the apex launcher before flashing the ROM?
Hi mate,
You can either open the ROM zip file, go to: /system/app and copy there the apex apk or better(if you ask me..) just download the apex launcher after flashing the rom and choose it to be default.
If for some reason you want to delete it, you can use root explorer to locate and delete the trebuchet apk from the path above.
*Don't forget to give the root explorer root access if you use the second method.

Hi guys,
I'm using a Huawei P9 with firmware EVA-L09C432B386 and I'm trying to convert Apex/Nova launcher to system app. It's because the phone wouldn't allow you to use certain widgets such as weather on third party launcher.
I moved both Apex and Nova folder from /data/app to /system/app and change the permission to Owner RW/Group R/Other R. But after rebooting the phone, the already installed launcher apps were missing. I couldn't find them in the drawer or "Settings - Apps" but only in the /system/app folder, however I couldn't launch or install them from the folder anyway.
Then I tried to use Titanium Backup to convert them to system apps, it just stuck in the "processing" forever. So I shut down the Titanium and reboot the phone, then go into the /system/app folder and there's an launcher apk there, I installed it but it just couldn't function properly.
Do you guys know any other way to convert them to system app, or what I did wrong in the process? Any input would be appreciated.
Ever wonder why no custom ROMs use said launchers as default? Coz you can't.
