[Q] Not receiving notifications from Twitter, FB, Words - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using Avatar 2.13b and have not been receiving notifications from Twitter, Facebook, Words With Friends, etc. I've checked the app settings and they are all set to notify. Cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the notifications working. I am getting Gmail and TweetCaster notifications.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of views but no suggestions. Have gone back to BB ROM until Avatar can pull in the notifications.
I like the themes in Avatar, but like the notifications more.

Hmmm that sucks. They even give a notification setting in the settings menu. Vibrate, ringtone and all.

I agree whatsapp seems better... But my 1 year free trial is gonna expire soon. Heard some extended for free, maybe then I will change.

last time i checked the charge after the free trial was less than one British pound so seems reasonable considering how much i use it.
btw my kik username is same as my forum name.

Stock messaging app in AOSP contact picture removal?

Been trying to figure this out. On ant's CM build. Always wanted to remove the image portion of the contact in the messaging app (stock). Has anyone been successful at this? Maybe I'm missing something simple?
Thanks in advance.

contact photos are managed in contacts not the messaging app. works fine between cm9 and aokp
I understand that thank you. But what I was trying to say is how to hide the photo next to the contact in the messaging app.

can't be done. all you can do is just remove them in contacts if you don't want them to show

Yeah but I don't think that's what he's after. He's wanting to remove that area from messaging entirely. So there's not even a blank picture there.
Exactly. ^

Facebook home notification

The HTC first can handle all notifications (email, whatsapp) with the facebook home app, however phones that download the app can't.
I believe that this is due to permissions, does anyone know if us rooted users would be able to give the same permissions so that we can have all notifications?

Better off asking in the themes and apps section, ask a mod to move this post there!

Titanium Backup issue

Hello XDA. I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this but I need some help with titanium backup. Every time I backup my apps and then restore them, the apps that have been restored don't show up in the notification bar when I receive a notification from that app. So I have to reinstall all my social apps so that I will get notifications from them. Or else people would talk to me on Facebook messenger, for example, and I would only be able to see that the moment I open the app. Because there's no notifications on the restored apps with titanium backup.
Does anybody else have this issue? And possibly a fix? Thanks.
Also, I use titanium backup premium version 5.7.0.1

Do not bump before 24 hours has passed. I will report it next time.
I often have a problem with ebo birthday after a restore. Usually I have to remember to run the app once after a restore then it works fine. Maybe Facebook too. Though I'm not sure its titanium backup....

You've already gotten an answer. Run each app after a restore.

That doesn't work. I found that only instagram, facebook and messenger lose their ability to share notifications with the phone. And I use those apps a lot so I can say I ran them after restoring. And notifications still don't pop up. Therefore, no, I don't have an answer.
