[Q] [Help] GT-I9300T to GT-I9300 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I'm new to this but I've been following xda for about a year.
Can I flash my Australian Telstra Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300T Jelly Bean 4.1.2 I9300TDUELL2 ROM and replace it with the International, Unbranded Version I9300XXEMB5 originally made for the GT-I9300?
Will this cause any problems and is it indeed possible for me to perform this operation, as many Mods, such as InkEffect, do not support that ROM Version?
Thanks in advance

it's possible, but you might have modem issues

As said before, you can and try different modems (I9300 or T model once) till you got a good one. I am running the same setup and got no issue at all.

The M just marks it as a the Bell model. Yes you can. Bell ICS isn't out yet.
Superuser means it is rooted. Dunno if its unlocked or how to.

GT-I9300 Vs GT-I9300X Vs GT-I9300T

I tried searching here and even on google but didnt find any answers. So i decided to start a thread. Do any of you know the difference between these 3 different models and most importantly can all 3 use the roms in this (i9300) section?
GT-I9300 is international version. I9300T is the same but it uses a modem that can get 850mhz. I9300x im not to sure about but i think for that version the ROMS and kernels made in this forum will not work and will brick the device.

flashing an I9300 ROM may brick your device. brick is a brick and can be used at a construction area.

[Q] installing official JB release

Hi, i saw the official release for JB here http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s3-i9300-android-4-1-1-jelly-bean-official-upgrade-118073/
This is the actually official release right?
Also do i have to follow their guide or can i just flash it like i would any other custom ROM? Is a full wipe necessary? (i use full wipe script from android revolution HD on mike1986 post)
Btw is there a way to do full wipe manually on the recovery page?
Yeah its official jelly bean, follow everything they say down to the last detail, also....make sure you have the international variant of the S3 because inevitably, you WILL brick your device if you flash it on any other device other than the international (quad core, GSM) version, good luck

sorry for a lame question, but how do i know if my SGS3 is international version? I bought it from ebay, which arrived from Hong Kong, however I think it is a european version (France??), I don't remember how i found that out last time. I am on a custom ICS ROM.

Odin recognizes tar files only AFAIK...if you have a zip file...extract the contents ..it will have a tar.md5 file inside it..

Re above .
Wipe phone and apply your original firmware .
Bit pointless flashing a JB rom only to remove it why not make up your mind what you want.Official Updates via Kies and OTA when they are released for your phone .
Or join XDA and flash stock roms on release . You cannot have both .
jje
I flashed my s2 with an ics Rom from here and it also upgraded through kies and would thought this would have as its the official polish release

Get a new S3 from a shop? It would be great if you can explain your situation in a bit more detail and someone might actually write something helpful.

yeah, just concentrate really hard and the hardware will change by itself.
it will take around 151864 million years for the atoms and molecules of the hardware to reassign themselves but it's totally doable.

Yes you can, you can even install the The finger Scanner of S5 in your amazing S3..
The GT-I9305 and GT-I9300 are a different smartphone...You have two choice,
1- Install a KitKat ported rom (Like the ArchiPort one :good: )
2- Or Buy an I9305 LTE
Before you can begin the process of turning your i9300 into an i9305, you need to download more RAM.
