Locked HTC One Stuck in Bootloader - AT&T HTC One (M7)

I was working on restoring my HTC one to stock since my SIM slot happened to break. In the process I must have messed something up and I can no longer get into any version of android, I am stuck at the bootloader screen.
My thinking is that if I run the RUU I will be able to kick myself out of this and have a functioning device, my problem is that I can't get windows 8 to identify my phone in fastboot to run the RUU.
Has anyone had any luck with wine on OS X or is there another way I can flash a firmware to my phone?

VMWare or Virtualbox works far better on OSX and I'd trust that vs Wine any day of the week. Got an old windows xp disc laying around?

I don't think XP would work since I have USB 3 drives on the MBP, but if it would thats an easy fix. I think I can find one laying around my house.

Using a MAC

How do I run OS, and rom loaders on a MAC. I would like to load a rom that fixes the wifi problem with my Verizon XV6800. Please can someone help. Thanks
You don't.
Unless your Macintosh has an intel processor and has some sort of Windows emulation (bootcamp parallels, wine, etc.), you can't. There isn't a way to do this straight from OS X.
Syncing your PDA with Mac is easy with the help of The Missing Sync or PocketMAC but updating your firmware, you'll have to use the next best PC in your area.
Good luck
Windows XP
Can anyone send me windows XP so I can duel boot and flash my XV6800 rom? I have parallels but no windows. Thanks

No. That's asking for wares which is against forum policy. You can download a trial from Microsoft and use it that way.
Be careful when running ROM upgrade tools within a VM on a mac. I got stuck in bootloader and the VM wouldn't see my phone at all. I had to find a PC in my closet to break it out I can only say this is true with Parallels though - VMWare may work better in this case but I've got no way of knowing.
try flashing from your microSD card

I had the same trouble.....funny my old treo could be flashed in a Parallels VM with no problem, and ESN repairs on sanyos also work in it.
I noticed that if you keeep the mouse moving, it will be more likely to complete the flash....however that makes no sense!
Thanks
Thanks for the replys. Sorry for asking for wares.

HELP! Bricked and only have a MAC

I'm in a pickle here, i was trying to restore my friends cdma razr to stock and somehow borked it. I only have a mac, it's dual booted but only dual boots into windows 8. The motorola drivers won't install on it so i can't use the razr utility, it doesn't see the device. I'm trying to install a virtual machine on mac os and so far, nothing is working.... Any help is appreciated.
again, HELP!!
Wgy wont drivers install?? Best bet probably be use a different comp
Lol i'm trying that now. I hit the next road block, the phone won't allow anything to happen in fastboot because it won't charge!!! The white LED is on too.
I don't have the original motorola cable, is this the issue?

Trying to Return to Stock DNA...

I have to have all the drivers correct as I have used this PC to unlock the bootloader and flash all my boot.img files, but the RUU won't find my DNA and gives me error 170 I believe it is. Windows 7 64bit ultimate.
try putting it in fastboot mode and as long as device manager says My HTC instead of android 1.0 and your phone reads fastboot usb then just run the RUU and it should work fine

In fastboot. In fact I can't get out of fastboot. I relocked bootloader fine, but can't seem to get the RUU to run. In DM it reads as "Android ADB device."

Could be it's 64 bit related as I recently tried flashing some files that were cake in win 7 32 bit but would not budge in win 8 64 bit. i have not figured out the issue as of yet but since I had another machine I just used that and it was fine. Think it's related to adb driver that either is not there or isn't working the same way in 64 bit...just a thought.

I'm going to try and run in VMware I guess. This is seriously frustrating I need to get this phone to stock to ship on ebay.
EDIT: Okay I ran it again after uninstalling/installing drivers for the millionth time and it worked somehow... Well I'm happy

Fastboot and Win 8.1 Here

Okay, so you installed Win 8.1 and are having driver issues. You are not alone, 8.1 does not recognize your phone, so what to do right? Do you want to wait until HTC releases a driver that works? Sure you could, but you want a fix now don't you. Well, you are left with only 2 choices. Either downgrade to Win 8 or dual boot Ubuntu, or your favorite Linux distro. I tried both, and both solutions work. So, for all the 8.1 fastboot questions, there it is. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is what it is. none of this works well, or at all on 8.1. I am back to Win 8, and it's all good again. Don't upgrade if you want to play for now.

your right but HTC has already fixed the problem it's called hboot 1.55. If your already s-off and on hboot 1.55 windows 8.1 is no problem at all. getting your phone to 1.55 s-off on a 8.1 pc is the problem. I had to return to windows 8 only long enough to get the newest firmware flashed and immediately returned to windows 8.1 and fastboot works fine.
Note: I use acronis true image to backup and restore my windows drive between windows 7 - 8 - 8.1, it only takes about 15-20min to fully change OS from one to the other and back. I have windows on a 120gig SSD and all my programs installed to D:\ and E:\ drives, it works really well.
Great news on the 1.55, there have been so many questions about it, I felt the need to post something to help. I wonder then if the converted GPE's that are on 1.54 will get the new Hboot. My converted Dev Edition already has it. Would certainly solve a lot of problems.

[Q] Stuck on fastboot not recognizing my device

hello.
i think i have already tried everything to get fastboot on my pc find my device, but no luck.
I've got an old laptop with usb 2.0 + windows 8.1 x64 Pro and the same OS on my PC with usb 3.0 (according to some of threads, my CPU is i7 4770k and my MOBO is MSI Z87-G45).
I use my HTC Desire X every day and it is simply slow. I cannot try every ROM cause of need to flash boot.img. And i Dont have any idea how to get the fastboot recognize my device....
Maybe someone have some time to help mi wlak through this 'issue' idiot friendly? I'm really confused and i dont have any idea what to do.

:crying: halp
EDIT:
SOLVED. Windows 7 FTW.
Also had this issue, quite frustrating as no drivers seemed to work for me, got if fixed now though (no need to go back down to win7)

Installed a HTC sync like program named PDAnet, and updated the drivers from that program, once in fastboot mode device is recognized in pdanet and in a command prompt (adb). this only worked on a usb2.0 port though.
(didn't bother replacing usb3.0 drivers as suggested elsewhere as this has caused big issues for me before.)
